Lockup Library – some of the books I read last year – part 2

Welcome back, book nerds! I know you’ve been on the edge of your seats, with bated breath – just waiting for part two. Well, your wishes have been answered!

So without further adieu, here’s part two of some of the books I read last year, or as I like to called it: Shawshank has learned how to stack books.

Part 2 and a picture!

Just a short stack, you know, to draw this series out – a blatant grab for more hits! Or as I call it, a small but powerful stack of books.

All of these, I would totally reread if given the chance (and time). I really enjoyed reading them all. Two of them, I watched the TV shows before reading the books. The shows were good, but the books were really good.

It’s almost the end of this mini series of posts. It’ll be time for the big finale soon. So hold on, book nerds – it’s about to get a little crazy!

Book haul – The Institute

Hey book nerds!

Just wanted to share a quick haul from a couple of weeks ago, when I was in BiggerCity. I was a little disappointed at the selection at the only place that sells books in that town; Walmart.

But trying to be a glass is half full type of person, least I got one book, amirite?

I channeled crystals, and bought it because, Stephen King. So it’s on my bookcase, and waiting to be read.

And, I can’t wait to read it. Until next time book nerds!

Lockup Library – some of the books I read last year – part 1

Ahh, part one of a three part mini series. Hello book nerds! Welcome back, pull up a chair and settle in. Part one is the biggest of the three parts.

The first pile

It’s a big one isn’t it? In the grand scheme, it’s not a lot, but it’s a start, isn’t it? This is also the only pile of books, that there are one or two books that I won’t reread. I always try and be diplomatic and positive in my book clubs, and reviews, but two of these books won’t be reread. I’m holding on to one of those for Crystal to read when she gets here.

That book? The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt.

The other book that doesn’t get a reread from me is Brave New World by Aldous Huxley.

I didn’t enjoy either of these books. And it was a slog to get through them. I shouldn’t have to put that much energy into doing something that I love. Thankfully I only put pocket change into buying them.

The only other one that was meh, was The Escape Artist by Brad Meltzer. It wasn’t great, it wasn’t terrible. But it was like he tried to remake The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo in America, and he paired her with a mortician. Odd couple? For sure.

And, if you’ve been following this blog for a while, this pile has my favourite book in it. Go a head, hope you guess my name!

Catch ya later, book nerds!

Book club – 3 books I’d like to reread

Well hello, book nerds!

Just a quick post – these are just 3 of many books that I’d love to reread after I get through my ever expanding TBR shelf. There’s a lot of great books to reread on my shelves. These are only the ones that really jumped out at me.

What’s on your reread shelf?

Until next time, book nerds!

Lockup Library – general updates

Hey book nerds! This is just a quick note, a “State of the Union” so to speak (so please hold your applause til the end), of what’s going on over here at the Lockup Library.

I’ve been slacking, but reading a lot more, so I have to get back into it. I assume most every book blogger out there schedules posts. They rarely talk about it, but they do. I’m going to talk about some posts that’ll be coming up in the near future.

There’s going to be some fun stuff coming up. I’m excited to share that sometime this week, or next we’re going to have a guest blogger – Crystal from chicky dot blog will be stopping in to talk about crafting with books.

I’m going to be doing a 3 part miniseries of the books I’ve read since last June. I didn’t want to shove all the books I’ve read into one post, so it’ll be a three parter.

I’m going to schedule a couple of Book Club books, that way if there’s any lurkers out there that want to participate, but don’t want to comment, they can still go out and get the books and follow along.

I’m gonna put out a quick list of 3 or 4 books I want to reread, no time frame for the actual rereads, just some books I want to reread.

I still have one book to put up a book haul. The last time I went into BiggerTown, I only got one book. While disappointing, I still walked out with one book.

Then maybe a meme or two.

That’s all for now, keep on reading you beautiful book nerds!
