Book post – show me your shelves!

Good morning books nerds! I hope everyone is having a great week so far.

Over the weekend, I fell back into that familiar spot – I was just looking at my book collection, and feeling pretty good about it.

Now, I’m hoping that you’ll show me your shelves! I always like to see how others put their books on the shelves. Is it just books, or do you have Knick knacks on them as well?

So get off your bums and post your shelves! Until next time, books nerds!

Book haul – Outlander

So the trip to CapitalCity was a good one, on the book front. My mom had mentioned in the past, that she wanted to continue to read the Outlander series. A couple of years ago, I had sent the first couple up her, she read them and sent them back.

Then she had the first season on her DVR, and my dad deleted them. So she asked me to put them on the list of books I wanted to buy.

Yesterday was the perfect store. At Value Village, I managed to find just about all the books. Just missing the last two, and one hasn’t even been published yet. Mom was very happy. She has the first one now. I have the rest in the bookcase, in order.

It was a good day, books nerds! Until next time!

Book club – The Fifty Year Sword

Hello book nerds! The masses have spoken, and yesterday I started The Fifty Year Sword by Mark Z. Danielewski.

Let me tell you I’m throughly confused so far. In House of Leaves, there were only a few different stories to read at once. In Sword, from what I can tell, there’s 5 different “voices” – made plain by different coloured quotation marks. So while I know the “just” of the story, I’m only 23 pages in, and I really have no clue what’s going on!

And I know that I said that I’d talk about the first chapter, but I’m pretty sure that there’s no chapters in this book. But I think that I’m enjoying it!

Book club – Choose your own adventure

Good morning book nerds! I said I’d post about which book to read next, and here it is! I’m posting early, in hopes that this post will get shared, and commented on. Tomorrow, I’ll post the results and I’ll talk about the first chapter of which ever book you guys and gals decide for me!

I think this will be fun, and I hope for maximum audience participation! So reshare, and comment my beautiful book nerds!

So without further adieu, I present the three books fighting to be read first. So here’s the deal. The book with the most votes, I’ll read first, next, second, and so forth. Fun!

So, vote early, vote often, just like in the US elections! I can’t wait to see what y’all decide! Until tomorrow, book nerds!

Book club: Plain Bad Heroines

Hello book nerds! I feel so much better now that I’ve finally finished Plain Bad Heroines by Emily M. Danforth! It’s like some weight has been lifted off of me. I accomplished something the been literally months in the making.

It’s the journey, not the ending.

The ending was ok, it didn’t seem too rushed, like in the case of The Arctic Fury. But lemme tell you, that the last 15-20 pages felt like they just flew through my fingers.

This was a great book, it sucks you right in right from the beginning. I really liked it.

Tomorrow, dear book nerds, I’ll be posting an informal poll, to see which book I should read next. It’ll be easy – 3 books, and all you have to do is comment and tell me which one you want me to read first, second, and third.

Until tomorrow, nerds of the books!
