Book club – The Fifty Year Sword Shawshank, May 10, 2021 Hello book nerds! The masses have spoken, and yesterday I started The Fifty Year Sword by Mark Z. Danielewski. Let me tell you I’m throughly confused so far. In House of Leaves, there were only a few different stories to read at once. In Sword, from what I can tell, there’s 5 different “voices” – made plain by different coloured quotation marks. So while I know the “just” of the story, I’m only 23 pages in, and I really have no clue what’s going on! And I know that I said that I’d talk about the first chapter, but I’m pretty sure that there’s no chapters in this book. But I think that I’m enjoying it!
