Book Club – Orange is the New Black Shawshank, June 21, 2021 Well good morning, book nerds! It’s been awhile, hasn’t it? Well I’m back. Today, we’re talking about a new (to me) book for the Lockup Library Book Club. It’s a good one, and I’m sure that most people have seen the show, but today I’ll be talking about the book. Orange is the New Black by Piper Kerman. It’s basically her memoir of spending 15 months in federal lock up. It starts off mostly the same as the show, probably faster than the show. I’m really enjoying the book. I’m enjoying the show, but it’s hard to understand how a 295 page book can last 7 seasons. I’m only a couple chapters in, but it’s pretty good so far.
