To a world where madness craves

Welp, back to work again this afternoon. Last shift, and I get a whole day off! That’s incredible! I’m still getting used to working 5 shifts a week. I told the guy that made the schedules that it’ll take me a week or two to get used to a 40 hour week again.

No biggie at all.

It was Halloween last night, and only a handful of people came in dressed up. It’s crazy how many high school students still go trick or treating here. I can’t remember when I stopped trick or treating. Probably somewhat young. I was a tall kid.

Driving through town, as I had to pick up the mail. I see some truck or treaters still running around. Probably up to no good. I drive past a hay bale in the middle of the road. I don’t think anything of it, it’s Halloween after all. I pull up to the post office, and since I don’t trust the youth in town on Halloween, I get out of the truck and lock it. In the post office, I separate my mail from my parents and walk back to the truck.

That hay bale I mentioned?

On fire.

It doesn’t even faze me. I look at it, and think to myself – there’s the trick. Of course they’d have a hay bale, the school is probably 75% farmers. And I head out on my way home. Once home, I snuggle with The Beautiful One, and we sit and watch Smackdown, then head to bed, where I crash out and don’t move until I hear Podrick doing Podrick things in the bathroom. I pick up what he’s knocked down, and go back to sleep closing the bedroom door behind me.

Happy Saturday!
