The moon’s awake now, with eyes wide open

Good sunny morning. The snow is melting, and the sun feels warm on my skin. pippin asked very nicely to have the back door open, so she can sit in a sun beam, so that’s what I did. She’s currently taking in all the sun sitting on a little black table.

Work wasn’t too bad for an all day shift. We got there about a half hour before we opened, and I got the store set up and ready to open. There was the initial OMG they’re open, I can finally get that 20oz coke that just the thought of it has kept me up for the twelve hours that the store wasn’t open. After the initial rush it slowed down again.

That was the day pretty much. By 3 we were already getting started on our closing checklists. By the time we were closed, there was one car that did a pass close to the store. Close enough, that whomever was in the car would see that the sign was off. Then they pulled right up to the door, my coworker went out and said we’re closed.

That’s what I don’t get about the townies. They’re just so used to us being open, they don’t even learn our hours. At least once a shift I’ll tell a regular our hours. Like yesterday a regular came I. Around 5:30, and said what time do you close? Am I that woman? We laughed and said no, we close in a half hour. Aside one month that we were closed on Sundays, it’s been the same hours for at least 2-3 years.

I’m off for the next two days. Today will be the chore day, and tomorrow we’ll go and have some fun. But before the fun there’s some cleaning to do, and of course brunch for lunch. We’ll just have to figure out dinner.

Tomorrow, we’ll head to NextProvinceOver to check out some second hand stores. We’re starting to go a little stir crazy due to the Long Winter. So we’ll head out tomorrow and be tourists for a little while.
