I remember doing the Time Warp

Good morning! Happy Thursday! It’s almost Pre-Friday! Almost. There. You can do it. It’s bright, sunny, and I assume somewhat chilly out there, because that’s what Canada does.

Today is gonna be a long day. Trips to two SlightyBiggerTowns. Each about 2 hours away, but it’s in a rather large loop, but it’ll still be a long day.

The German lessons are going pretty good so far. I unlocked level one yesterday, and I’m still in first place, but I know that’ll change, and I’m ok with that.

But for now, coffee. Happy Thursday!

But listen closely, not for very much longer

Hey. Hey. You know what day it is? duh, it’s the day before the night before Friday, y’all. Come on, this is all pretty basic information.

I need coffee. It needs to brew faster. Like yesterday.

Speaking of yesterday, my grandmother went to get her nails cut at the nurses office. With COVID happening, they’ve shut that down. They just opened up and this was her first visit back. The nurse noticed that she wasn’t using her walker. My grandmother told the nurse that she can’t use it because she gets stuck every where in the house.

That’s false.

I’ve moved stuff around in just about every room in the house to ensure she can get around with the walker. And trust me, she can fly with that walker. Yesterday my mom was livid. One of the rooms she said she couldn’t get around in was her bedroom. My mom pretty much rage cleaned that room. I moved stuff around, and made it a lot better in there for her.

I think it was about 9 my father called, he said he’d be pulling an all nighter fixing a “straight cut header”. I think it cuts the head off straight or something, so my mom offered to bring out his dinner. We left the house at 10. Mom needed me because she has trouble seeing in the dark. Yeah. As Crystal says, it was a ‘Scent of a Woman’ style road trip.

Lemme tell you; it gets DARK out there. No lights from a city, no street lights. Just pure terror inducing darkness.

I did manage to spot 3 deer, and a mouse, all bolting across the road.

It is a blast to hear the GPS say “in 600 meters, turn left, and travel off road.” Or; “in 250 meters, turn right on to unpaved road.”

Made it home at 11, and fell right to sleep.

Madness takes its toll

Hey I am. Awake. I don’t think I moved at all last night. So my back is just a little tweaky. But that’s ok, we have to wait for Canadian Tire to call us, telling us the pellets are in. I don’t have to worry about lifting anything for at least a few days.

Coffee.

Yesterday afternoon, I registered to vote. Lemme tell you, voting wise, I’d rather vote in the United States. You only have two choices. There’s like 6 or 7 in this province. Only 2 or 3 actually matter, but there’s too many choices. For the love of dog, just tell us who to vote for! Haha

It looks like another gray day here. I discovered, it’s not really cloud cover here. A lot of it is smoke coming from BC, who’s is coming from Oregon. It’s still grey and depressing.

My mom and grandmother bickered all day yesterday. My grandmother who went to bed at like 6 the day before yesterday, was up and dressed at 7 am. Which means she was probably up 6 am. So she was wicked over tired. She didn’t have a good day yesterday. I feel bad for her some days with her dementia. it’s really has to be just as hard for her, as it is for the people around her. I can see habits in her that my mom has, but doesn’t realize it.

Wow this post kinda turned dark and sad didn’t it? I apologize for that. I didn’t mean for that to happen. But sometimes it does.

I love you, and I miss you.

Upstairs and down the hall

My grandmother was up before me today. I know it’s two things:

  • She went to bed at like, 6 last night.
  • She has a hair appointment this morning.

She always does this. If we have some where to be, she’ll get up hours before. Because it usually takes her about 3 hours to eat breakfast, because she plays on her iPad, and forgets about her breakfast. So literally within 5 minutes of me getting up, I’m having a full blown conversation about why my father didn’t bring the trailer back to work, and how there’s two coffee pots in the kitchen, and how she prefers instant coffee.

Me in the other hand passed out at 9:40, and I don’t think I moved until sometime in the middle of the night when I had to pee, and then about 5:30 to pee again. Then I slept until my alarm went off. And the best thing; I’m not sore at all! That’s definitely a good thing.

Yesterday we went to SlightlyBiggerTown to finally get the wood pellets. We had lunch, where I had a shit-Tonne of bacon. It was glorious. They loaded all on the trailer for us, minus 30 bags – which due to a communication error, we’re sold. We have to go back and get them, as well as drop off the pallets. We get back to TinyTown, and we got 120 40lb bags downstairs and set up just how my dad wants them.

We don’t need that bum Tom Brady anymore! 1-0 baby! The road to the Super Bowl goes through Gillette baby!

Goin places I’ve never been, seein things that I may never see again

Awake. The alarm was set for 6am. That was unneeded, as my dad didn’t get home until 12:30 this morning, so the note I got this morning says we’ll leave around 10am. Sigh. I can’t go back to sleep once I’m awake. I basically got up, turned on the shower, and turned on the coffee. And now here I am. So you now get to read whilst I wax poetic for a while.

I had weird dreams last night. I was getting all sorts of weird calls, some spam, some like I said, weird. I got into a fight with my mom for some reason, and I woke up from sleep or a nap in my dream, and I remember saying “I hope you’re happy, now I’ll be in a bad mood all day…” weirdness for sure. I’m not in a bad mood. I’m sleepy, but that’s what I get for getting up early. Read on!

Small town living. Here in TinyTown, the sidewalks roll up at 6 when the grocery store closes. Sure, the “C Store” is open until 9, but that’s about 2km outside of town. Then it’s quiet. You can hear cows mooing. Some cars drive by. People wave at you. It took me about 2 weeks to get used to waving back. People are so nice here. But people definitely move at their own pace here. It’s relaxing, and frustrating at the same time.

I applied, and was approved for my provincial health card two days ago. I should have it in about 2 weeks. Then, I can get photo ID. Then, I can apply for a drivers license. Hopefully, I don’t have to go through the graduated license program. If I do, I’ll have to have a licensed driver with me for 2 years. And part of the testing includes parallele parking. In about the 20 years (rounded up) that I’ve been driving, I’ve never had to parallele park before. I understand the theory, just have never had to. We’ll cross that bridge when we get there.

This coffee tastes so freakin good right now. I need more.
