Like a band of gypsies – we go down the highway

Good morning! Happy Sunday! The coffee is brewing and it’s a brand new day! Today will be a busy one. I’ll be heading by myself to BiggerTown to do my shopping.

Two hours there. Shop. Lunch. Maybe a little more shopping, then two hours home.

My list is simple

  • Body pillow
  • Melatonin
  • More undershirts
  • Shoes
  • Razors
  • Lunches for the week

All stuff that’s a lot cheaper at Walmart than it is at any of the stores in either SlightlyBiggerTown. Then tomorrow, when my mom goes to SlightlyBiggerTown to get the oil changed, I’ll babysit gramma. At that time, if I don’t do it when I get back to the house today, I can work on the book club, and a book haul post that I’ve been meaning to do for a week or so.

But for now, coffee.

Happy Sunday y’all.

But first, coffee.

Awake. The volume is turned up on my phone. So when my alarm went off, (courage, it couldn’t come at a worse time!) scared me a little. Not enough to make me wish I was wearing brown jammies, but just enough to startle awake.

Hopefully it should be a quick day. I want to start my weekend. Not that I have anything planned. I don’t know if it’s still on, but we were supposed to go to BiggerTown for an oil change. Now I don’t know. Mom would have to stay with gramma, and my dad was supposed to take a day and I’d ride with him. He wouldn’t have to take a day but the truck is his baby and I’m not allowed to drive it.

But the thing is, I have a list of stuff that I was going to get at Walmart and other stores nothing really needed. Except maybe another pair of shoes. All my shoes, minus my Docs, are falling a part. So yeah I kinda need shoes, oh, and melatonin.

Who knows. I’m sure I’ll be woken up Monday, we my dad asking me if I’m ready to go.

But tonight, there’s a new episode of SNL. Crystal and I are going to try and make it until weekend update. Gawd, we’re old! Haha

First Line Friday

Woohoo, we made it to Friday! So here’s the game that we’re playing; I give you the first couple lines of a random book on my shelf, you guess in the comments, and next week, I’ll give you the answer!

Last weeks book was Clan of the Cave Bear. Did you figure it out?

That sounds like fun, amirite?

Ok, ready? Let’s go!

For a long time the horizon had been a monotonous flat blue line separating the Pacific Ocean from the sky. The Navy helicopter raced forward, flying low, near the waves. Despite the nous and thumping vibration of the blades, Norman Johnson fell asleep.

Think you have the answer? Comment below!

Until next week…

I’m nodding’ my head like yeah – movin’ my hips like yeah

Good morning, happy Friyay! We made it! It was a long, but good day I haven’t moved that much furniture in a long time. We were also open for Shop til you drop til 8. It was a busy night for sure.

But now I’m awake and drinking coffee. I’m not as sore as I thought I’d be after moving four couches, two living room chairs and a solid wood hutch.

Like I said, it was a good day.

I’m trying to think about what to write here. After that last sentence, I’m drawing a blank! I have to work today, and tomorrow, then I’m off Sunday and Monday. And Monday will be busy. Off toe BiggerTown to get my dads truck oil changed. We’ll also be stopping at Walmart where I have a small list of things to get.

Yes, the first place I’ll go is the book section 🙂

So happy Friday. We’re almost there. We can make it!

Do you have book goals? Why?

Do you have a book goal? If so why?

I personally don’t have a book goal. I’ve done the whole GoodReads reading challenge. I didn’t like it. I felt like I needed to read. Had too just so I could click another box. It gave me anxiety. I purposely chose shorter and shorter books to quickly complete my goal, and then I could announce, Hey guys y u read so slow?

I think at that point people are focusing on quantity over quality. That’s not how someone should read. These are my thoughts. Are you even retaining any information/story out of a book if that’s number 401 for the year?

I’m not keeping count, but I’ve read a pretty good number. But yeah, I feel wicked guilty for not having read the next short story in Full Dark, No Stars. I have a feeling I’ll be reading some on Saturday after work, and some Sunday before I make the book club post.

Sorry a little tangent there. Read how you want, if you’re having fun, keep doing it the way you’re going. Reading is awesome. You do you!
