Someday the mountain might get ’em, but the law never will

Thank god it’s Friyay. I’m tired, man. It’s been a long long ass week. I’ve spentnkosy of my days this week, working second shift. The closing shift. Today, I got to experience (again) the fun of closing, and then the next day opening.

Spoiler alert, it wasn’t much fun at all.

But that doesn’t matter. It’s Friday, and that means it’s date night. It’s also bright and sunny out, and it doesn’t seem like there’s a lot of wind anymore.

So yeah, that’s it. I just woke up from a nap, so I’m gonna do my best to wake up. Happy Friday everyone!

Grab that cash with both hands and make a stash

Spoiler alert: it was a day.

So I walk in to work at 5:30 this morning, and read on the front door that the debit machine is down. No biggie, it should be working now, right?

Nope. We should be getting a new debit machine by Monday, at the earliest. So yeah, we’re 100% cash only. That’s going over well.

But, I don’t really care. I have the weekend off. Monday is for future Shawshank to deal with. So I walked out of there as quickly as I could.

Last night, I got a text from the old BossLady asking for help with her Mailchimp. She wants to send out one more post with all of her auction info on it. I thought I was just going to go and quickly show her how to do it. I was wrong. I told her I didn’t have a lot of time, but I would do what I could for her.

She ended up having to take some customers to show some auction stuff, so I took that as my cue to get the heck out of there. All she has to do is simply follow some prompts and the. It’ll be sent. I believe I’m still on the mailing list so I’ll know when it gets sent.

Good times.

I’m home now, and I’m going to ignore any text messages from her. I’ve done my tour there! The last mailing will be up to her to finish.

It’s date night tonight. I should quickly email the cook and see if they’re open tonight. If so, I have to figure out what I want to eat. Do I feel like breakfast, or wings, or maybe even a clubhouse sandwich? It’ll be an adventure!

I’ve got two tickets to Iron Maiden, baby – come with me Friday, don’t say maybe

TGI-motherfucking F. It’s finally Friyay. Course since I’m the “floater” at work, I’m working tomorrow. Yay. I’m not looking forward to it, but that’s ok, it’s a paycheck.

I’m home from a slow morning/early afternoon. We got everything done, and still had time to just be bored at work today. Even more so, we had a third person there today. Least I’m not him, he’s there until 4.

I got a text from my mom, she made it to CapitalCity, and picked up my dad from the hospital. He’s ready to come home. So they’ll be home in a few hours. I’m sure he’ll sleep all the way home, and then probably most of the weekend.

I’m gonna try to stay awake again for the afternoon. I crashed last night. Least I can sleep in a little bit before I have to be in tomorrow. It’ll just be a long day. 2 people, 8.5 hours and then it’ll be the weekend – for a day. Then I’ll be back to work again. yippee

And we don’t know just where our bones will rest

“Soon I discovered that this rock thing was true, Jerry Lee Lewis was the devil, Jesus was an architect previous to his career as a prophet”

Good afternoon people. I assume that you’re waiting with bated breath for my post. As you should be. I assure you this will be the greatest post that you’ll read all day.

Trust me.

4:30 came wicked early this morning. I know I was up sometime in the night, but I didn’t roll over to see the time. Needless to say, the alarm scared me this morning, and I was groggy as all get out when I rolled over. I didn’t even know what time it was when I woke up.

Coffee brewed, clothes put on.

Then I was off to work. Driving in the freshly fallen snow. Yes, it fucking snowed last night. Enough to put down in the morning note to Crystal to not look out the windows this morning. I’d say it’s probably 70% melted now. But still, it’s April.

Work was well, work. We got some cleaning and stocking done before the delivery came in. We took care of customers, and just did our thing. I was happy when it was time to leave.

I now have Chaucer, not laying on me, but sitting on my lap, waiting patiently for another goldfish cracker from Crystal. I don’t think he’s gonna get another one. But he’s hoping.

I think I’m gonna nap for a little bit.

Happy Friyay!
