And your hearts against my chest, your lips pressed to my neck

So I was thinking last night. About books, as i picked up Twilight for the thousandth time (hey, i just wanted something light to read last night), of what books I would bring if I was trapped on a deserted island.

I know, so deep right?

Then I thought, you can’t bring them all, you can only bring 3 books with you. And none of this “How to get if a deserted island in 1373 easy steps”.

So here you go, in no particular order:

1. Twilight – not the whole series, but I’m working on getting them all. I’d choose this book, because while I really enjoy reading it, it’s a palette cleanser. I’m not reading it for deeper meaning. It’s purely a good lose yourself in the story type of book. Here’s a secret when I read the complete series for the first time, i wept at the end. I thought it was a really fitting ending to the series.

2. House of Leaves – this book, right from page 1 of Johnny’s introduction grabbed me. The rest of the book blew my mind. Imagine finding out your house is just slightly bigger on the inside than the outside. Then for a second, imagine getting trapped and lost in it. I always find something new about it, every time I read it. Aside from the Twilight series, it’s the one book that I’ve re-read the most. Including a 13 hour layover in Montreal on the way to TinyTown.

3. Ship of Theseus – I haven’t finished my first read through yet, but this book is awesome. Overwhelming. Strange. Confusing. Scary. I really like it. So I’d definitely have to bring it with me.

So here’s where (hopefully) some reader participation comes into play; what are the top 3 books that you’d bring with you, if you found yourself trapped on a deserted island? Would you bring mystery, or a colouring book, or even some self-help books?

So people, answer here in the comments, or write your own post, and link it here. Up to you! I’ll come by and comment on your choices and we’ll get to know each other!

She’s the sweetest thing that I know

It’s Thursday, so that means the second hand shop is open. Nothing that jumped out at me today. Which is ok, you can’t hit a home run each time you’re up to bat, amirite?

Right now, it’s sunny, and pretty windy out. The sky looks a live out there, and I’m better at taking pictures of the clouds than I am, say taking a selfie. But that’s ok!

Nothing at the post office either, but it’s nice to get out for a walk in the sun. The wind isn’t even that bad, just some bad gusts. It’s only blowing at about 30kph.

Now, I’ll be sous chef to my mom, we’re going to be baking some muffins. I don’t know what kind, but some baking will get done!

Also, the Vindaloo I cooked yesterday will be served for dinner tonight over some rice. I was so afraid that mom and gramma wouldn’t like it, but I didn’t put any spicy spice in it, but it still tastes really good!

In the middle of the night, in my dreams

Good morning party people! It’s almost Pre-Friday. You’re almost there! Just a few more moments to hold onto, then it’ll be Friday. But savour the Friday’s and the Saturday’s, because, before you know it, it’ll be Pre-Monday. And everyone hates Pre-Monday.

So yesterday was fun. Dad had a day off work, so the whole family went to get groceries, and out for lunch. Then home to nap (because this is Shady Acres after all), and then at 4 pm, it’s time to build something! This time it was a bed frame for my dads bed, so his blankets don’t keep falling down. Lol.

Because when you’re in love, even 5 minutes a part, feels like an eternity.

Happy Thursday everyone!

I can hear the soft breathing of the girl I love

Good morning y’all! Guess. What. Day. It. Is. It’s hump day! Half way through the week! You’re almost to Pre-Friday. You can make it! I have faith. It looks completely different outside over the past two days. There’s no wind, very few clouds in the sky, it’s sunny, it’s kinda warm, and there’s no wind!

I have to laugh, I don’t know it it’ll show on the actual post but that gif is like triple speed.

I went to sleep about 20 minutes later than normal last night. I meant to just read for 10 minutes, just to finish 2 pages in ‘Ship of Theseus’. I’m getting into the main story, but I’m still a little (a lot) confused with the margin story. I hope it all comes together.

Weird German dreams last night. But mix weird German dreams with Demolition Man, and X-Men. It was very strange. And I woke up very confused.

Happy Hump Day!

Stand there like a ghost shaking from the rain

So I’ll probably be cooking some Vindaloo tomorrow. Just need to get one spice, and the regular stuff (onion, tomato paste, etc). I got a couple of chicken breasts, and I’ll add some potatoes, and probably have it over some rice.

As I was searching a couple of days ago for spices for the bbq sauce I made, I ran into some Chinese five spice. I was blown away.

Really? C5S? I remember looking for this as Crystal and I were trying to cook something. We ended up making our own. How did this end up at Shady Acres? Mom said she used it once. Then it was put to the back of the spice cabinet.

Because, ketchup is spicy.

I won’t introduce curry ketchup, or curry wurst.
