They’re gonna clean up your looks with all the lies in the books

Just scrolling through the discovery open here on the WordPress app – using book keywords to find like minded people, I’ve seen weird things lately.

You book people, is that all you do? No jobs or anything? I was scrolling and saw one person “was well on her way to 400 books read this year”. She read 23 in October.

Do you even retain anything from the books when you’re reading that much? Is it out of love that you read or some sort of odd obligation to your blog?

One blogger just simply posted a month of her sites stats. Wow, show off much? I’d assume that most people would read and blog about reading for themselves. Apparently this person does everything for site hits.

Also, and this is gonna sound mean, but how the hell can you afford book hauls every month? Y’all look like you’re buying at least 4 to 5 BRAND NEW books a month? Granted I do book hauls as well, but I spend less than $5 a month on seconds hand books. Are y’all selling body parts?

I read for me. I’m not putting any pressure on myself to perform and read as much as I can, because, lemme tell you something – you may be well on your way to reading 400 books this year, but I’ve read (and reread) the Twilight Saga this year, more than a teen girl in the fall of 2005.

I blog for me as well. I like to share my thoughts (as unpolished that they are) on the books that I read, and anything else that’s happening in my life.

Rant over, please carry on with your day!

My saddle’s waiting – come and jump on it

Good morning. Happy Wednesday. It’s Remembrance Day here, at shortly before 11am, I’ll head down to the towns cenotaph to pay my respects.

Good news in TinyTown! I have procured a job! Tonight is my first night – trial by fire. I’m excited and nervous. I pretty much talked my way into this job, now we’ll see if I can produce!

But right now, I needs me some coffee.

Crystal showed me a cool get around for Duolingo, that give me unlimited hearts. For the iOS version you got 5 hearts – you get a question wrong you lose a heart. You lose all the hearts and you have to practice to get them back. It really slows you down. It got to the point, that I wasn’t doing any lessons, just my daily goal Nd that was it. Yesterday, I had fun and actually banged out over 200 xp!

I’m back baby!

You’re an all night generator wrapped in stockings and a dress

-18 feel like temp -25c it’s frigid out there this morning. Two days ago in RI it was 75f. My dads truck has been running for about 45 minutes and it’s still a block of ice.

I slept like a rock last night. Passed right out.

So I’m slightly a head in Full Dark, I don’t want to get too far a head for book club, so I figured I’d read a book that I don’t really have to concentrate on. You guessed it, I grabbed my old beat up copy of Twilight. Yeah, I’m just that basic.

In my defense though, King’s short stories are like gold. Fast and easy to read. It’s like he’s almost build for short stories. I think with his longer books he doesn’t know how to end them sometimes.

But for right now, I’m gonna stay warm, drink some coffee, and chat with Crystal. Enjoy your Tuesday, y’all.

Time stands still – beauty in all she is

Good morning. It’s like a winter wonderland out there. Just a dusting of snow, on top of ice, so it’ll be a death trap out there, because the town doesn’t believe in sanding/salting the roads – you know, for safety. But don’t get me started on that!

According to one of 29 calendars in the house, it’s Monday. It’s also voting day for the town here. So I’m sure it’ll be a big shit show getting everyone down there.

But first, there’s always time for coffee!

I slept like a rock. I don’t think I moved at all. Didn’t get up once.

Happy Monday y’all!

I have died everyday waiting for you

Breaking Dawn pt 2. Otherwise know as the movie Shawshank ugly cries at the end.

15 minutes later, I’m still trying not to burst into tears. That’d freak out my mom, wouldn’t it? I’m sure if they even asked about Crystal, I’d burst into tears. I never used to cry at movies, let alone a Twilight movie. I mean, come on. It’s Twilight. I’m pretty sure that if a long distance commercial came on right now, I’d have to leave the room.

The final movie of the saga. The final show down between the good guys and the bad guys.

Ahh the age old meet in the middle of an open field to do battle. And what a glorious battle it was. It’s the best change from the books that happened in the movies. If you’ve read my book reviews on the Saga, you’d know that the end of Breaking Dawn the book was a travesty. Simply one of the worst endings that I’ve read for a while. The movie ending was a lot better than the book ending.

This is where the tears come. I know what’s coming. Let’s show Edward how much Bella love him…

LOVE MONTAGE!

Cue the ugly crying.

Then for added pain, let’s run the credits. FOR ALL THE MOVIES.

Goddamn you all.

Where’s the Kleenex?
