If I had a dime every time that you crossed my mind well I’d basically be sitting on a big ass pile of dimes Shawshank, July 12, 2026 It’s morning, and it’s warm. It’s been warm since yesterday morning. We just have to make it through today. But I wanted this heat. I welcome this heat. Work wasn’t too bad yesterday. Slow. But it was still a good day. Bing Bing switched shifts with an employee I don’t have a nickname for her, as this is the second time it worked with her. But like I said it was a slow shift. I think most people were hiding inside, or at the lake. I know one of my customers put in a lake at a dug out(?), and said he was going to go for a swim with his goat. Aren’t small rural towns the best? So there wasn’t really a rush yesterday. Just random people coming in for the most random (for a small town gas station) things. One person came in. If he’s not getting gas, he gets one drink, wishes us an excellent day and leaves. Yesterday, it was neither, but a box of bandaids. That small picture above? Oh that’s our drink cooler. It usually sits at 35°. Yesterday, it didn’t go lower than 47°. I had hoped that it would cool back down, so at one point no one had been into the store or opened any of the cooler doors for a half hour. The temperature, didn’t go down. I texted BossLady around 8 or so to tell her. But it was a Saturday. So she was probably busy. Today will be a somewhat busy day. Since golden boy at work only works opening shifts, he gets all the opening Saturday shifts, which messes with me timemaxxing. So today, we’ll head into SlightlyBiggerTown for some much needed supplies – including laundry soap, and we’ll do the rounds there, and come home, where I’ll start laundry. But first, coffee. It’s Sunday, and the first of three have died down in the states. Let’s hope it’s a busy day down south as well. Life blogbloggerchore daycoffeejournalmorningspersonal blogTinyTown
Life Singing Sweet home Alabama all summer long October 20, 2022 Good morning! It’s a gray and overcast day out there. But it’s warm, so yesterday Crystal put a chair so Pippin could look out the back door. It’s still warmish so I put her table back. I believe she’s currently sitting watching the sun rise. Yesterday was my first day… Read More
Life Young people they can get away with murder October 3, 2024 One. One more shift, and then, boom! A day off. I cannot wait. Yesterday was pretty slow. We got a few things cleaned and some soda put away. But it was mostly, almost totally, very very slow. But we survived, and made it home unscathed. Has my life gotten this… Read More
Life When the sun’s comin’ up I got cakes on the griddle October 10, 2022 Good morning all my city folk friends. It’s a bright and crisp day out here in the prairies. We’re up, and I’m dressed, Crystal is wearing her rammy jammies. Coffee is brewing, and we’re prepping to go out to the farm. Crystal has been promised that she’ll be able to… Read More
