Sipping whiskey out the bottle, not thinking ’bout tomorrow

Small changes in the plans this morning. BossLady had texted me I think shortly after dinner last night m asking if I was ready for work. Short story, long, we decided to play it by ear, and possibly open late, which is why this is getting posted close to my normal posting time, and not in the afternoon.

All roads in and out of TinyTown are still closed. Like in all those horror movies, we’re all alone. No way in or out. Isn’t this the start of either a vampire movie, or zombie? Hopefully that’s not the case.

It wasn’t too bad of a day. I took care of the chores almost in one fell swoop. Which is always possible, but for some reason, I like to stretch them out. After the chores, it was brunch time. As always, it went off without a hitch, and was very good.

From there, I got dressed and walked over to my parent’s place to begin the dig out. It did take too long to shovel their driveway from door to truck. Walked back home.

Then the winds started. There a lot of drifts around the Hot Mess Express. So I’ll have to dig out before work. If we work today that is.

I needs coffee. Happy Monday, bitches.

Everything is bleak it’s the middle of the night

Well, it is snowing out there. It hasn’t really accumulated too much around the flat, because the wind has never died down. I’m monitoring it, cause I’ll be trekking up to Shady Acres a couple of times today. Once, probably around noon, and then probably later in the day just to clean up what’s accumulated. My dad has a medical appointment on Tuesday, so he needs to have the driveway cleaned, so he can make it to the truck.

Since I’m supposed to be pushing a lot of snow, I decided to do the laundry yesterday. You know, one less chore today, because of the added snow shovelling chore today.

So it’s just the small chores to do this morning. Most importantly, there’s brunch to be made today. And we have to make waffles as well. So it’ll still be a busy morning. But an easy, busy morning.

But the snow is falling. And the wind is blowing. I think it’s going to be a cozy day, aside from the snow shovelling. We’ll be screwed if the wind decides to just stop, but for now, for the most part, Mother Nature is shovelling most of it. I can’t wait to see the snow drifts at work tomorrow. Hopefully the plow comes through a couple times today, and through the night. But we’ll see.

I need another cup of covfefe. But I have a tiny cat on me. Well, she’ll have to get up, and I think that she’s ok with that.

Buy a yacht with a flag sayin’ “Chillin’ the most”

Good morning motherfuckers. It is I, the shank of Shaw. I’m a very important person. I also smoked myself into an early bed time last night. I think I crawled into bed about 9. Pippin just wanted to snuggle with me, and I didn’t want to move to let her under the covers, because I knew she wouldn’t stay. I just wanted to sleep. She cried for a couple of minutes, and then I think she snuggled down at the foot of the bed whilst I died.

I think I woke up around 12:30, but fell back asleep. Then again at 3:39 or so, but again, I fell back asleep. I was warm, then I was cold. But I think it totally evened out by the time I woke up for good, just minutes before the alarm went off. I tried to snuggle with Crystal this morning, but it was way too hot. I basically chased her across the bed in an effort for the snuggles.

Updated snow totals for Sunday. If we get all of this, it should be fun to see the town dig itself out and to see if we can actually get to work on Monday. I trust the Hot Mess Express. But knowing my mom, if they don’t have to be anywhere Monday, I could see her telling me to take her truck to work Monday. But I can’t Tuesday, because my dad has some medical testing in CapitalCity. I’ve planned ahead, and have a really good shovel to dig out the Flat, and Shady Acres.

Let’s do this.

But first, coffee.

Thanks.

A black cherry paradise, half the sugar, twice the spice

I swear every time we get a grocery delivery, there’s a freakin party line in town, and someone calls it, and says the van is there get EVERYONE and everyone they know to get gas.

Perfect. BossLady is checking in the order, TisimBoy is staying as far away from the register as freakin possible, and NewGirl is running the register. I’m getting all the outdoor stuff, and then when I finally get inside, NewGirl – who only seems to know my name, is calling me to do the lottery, because she’s not allowed to do it until after she takes her course.

Good fuckin times if you ask me.

And, we’re expecting snow. The amounts have changed over the last 2 days, so currently it’s sitting at 9.75”. But it’s been as high as 13”. I’ll believe it when I see it. But of course there’s bad weather coming, so the old people have to top off the gas. (“Fill it up – storms coming.” But then it clicks off at $18) that just boggles my mind!) which is hilarious because if a foot of snow falls, sure as shit, they’re not going out in it. They might, because this town has to do everything at the last possible minute. They don’t think a head. Like the local school is doing a ski trip today, so what does everyone do? Come right before they leave to get gas. Shit, I’d have hotten the gas the day before.

But I digress.

I’m tired. I slept ok yesterday, but I don’t think it was too much of a restful sleep. I closed my eyes, and BOOM! the alarm is going off. Least tomorrow, I can sleep in for a couple of hours. I need it. I’m in a wicked salty mood, and I don’t want to take it out on Crystal.

Date night tonight. Yay. The regular place is still closed. Only open 10-2 each day. So we’ll go to the other restaurant. I don’t know if we’ll go back to the other one. Yes the fall back place isn’t as good, but at least they’re consistent with their hours, and didn’t suddenly close 3 weeks ago.

I think I’m done bitching for a while. Besides, what’s a blog or zine good for if you’re not bitching on it?
