They’re taking the Hobbits to Isengard! Gard, gard

I’m awake. Yep, it’s a little later than normal. I’ll try and contain the cats, if The Beautiful One would like to nap this afternoon. I didn’t even feel her get out of bed this morning. Suddenly, it was quiet, and no movement, so I zonked out. When Crystal came to woke me, I jumped up thinking I had to work. she assured me that I wasn’t late for work.

So I pulled her down and we snuggled for a couple of minutes, and gave Podrick all the attention while he laid on my chest. He loves all the attention. Eventually, he got bored, and got off my chest. That was the signal to get out of bed and start the day. So here we are, coffee on our tables, and news on our TV. Who knows what we’ll do today. I’d love to get a nice bacon cheeseburger – one that I didn’t have to cook myself, but the closest A&W is a half hour away. Both SlightlyBiggerTown’s have an A&W. Who knows. We’ll probably just hang out here.

But for now, it’s nice just sitting next to Crystal. We take turns reading or showing each other memes. Mornings are always so nice to slowly wake up. Work yesterday wasn’t too bad. My coworker was very sick, he even texted one of the new kids, on the kids birthday, to see if he’d come in to finish his shift. Thankfully, the kid said no, so my coworker stayed the whole shift. It wasn’t a bad shift one out of two trucks showed up, so we got the product out. It was a quiet night, but we made it to closing. I took the deposit, and told my coworker to go home and relax and get feeling better.

The sun is starting to come out after the lightning show and rain that we got last night. From what I could see when lifting my sleep mask, the lightning was really lighting up the sky. I just got a refill of coffee, and I’m almost ready to greet the day!

Look at this photograph every time I do, it makes me laugh

Yep, we’re awake, but not liking it. Podrick was being Podrick this morning and was trying to climb through the blinds. I was awake just a few moments ago, Pippin was about to snuggle, but Podrick came up on the bed, and chased her off. So, I figured it was time to get up.

I assume that it’s fog out there, hanging out. But you never know, it could be smoke from the wildfires up north. I’m going to say it’s fog. It’s kinda thick out there, but in the fog, I hear birdsong, so I know it’s not killer fog. That’s a good thing.

Podrick has grown since we picked him up on April 24th. He eats like a pig, and he’s still very cute, even though we have to have a locked and loaded squirt gun, that he pretty much just shrugs off when we squirt him. It’s quiet in the Flat. I don’t know where the kitties are. But, if it’s quiet, they’re not fighting. Maybe they’re sleeping next to each other.

Hopefully, it gets a little warmer. It’s been a weird summer so far. I still carry my hoodie with me to work, and I’d say 9 times out of 10, I’m wearing it by the end of the night.

So, gather up your jackets, move it to the exits I hope you have found a friend

Good morning. The Beautiful One let me sleep. And sleep, and sleep. She’s a national treasure. I shall feed her a burger and possibly tots this evening as a thank you. The bed was so comfy, and warm when I was snuggled up against Crystal. it’s been a really nice weekend, but the weekend is slowly, slowly fading into the new work week.

Podrick was quickly locked out of the bedroom, and then Crystal kidnapped Pippin and brought her into the room with us, and miss Pippin got lots of snuggles for the hour that she was shut in with us. So that was nice to wake up and give Pippin some pets. She puts up with a lot when they’re both out in general population. She needs snuggle time with us.

We didn’t do a whole lot of anything this weekend, except watch a lot of wrestling. For the first time, SunmerSlam was two days. Yesterday, was day two. So, we watched it. The second nights matches were not as good as night one, in my opinion. So much so, that I was cooking while the matches were going. The first night, we paused it, last night though, we just let it run as I cooked.

I much preferred night one, over night two. The twist on night one, was better than the guy they brought out on night two. I’ve never watched the guy wrestle before, and I don’t really want to watch another semi-retired wrestler try to recapture whatever is missing from their life.

I go back to work tomorrow afternoon, so this is my last day of freedom, so to speak. What shenanigans will we get into today? Probably not too many, as today is Family Day in the province.

But first, coffee. Happy Monday y’all!

Let’s spend the night together from now until forever

After I pulled Podrick away from the blind cords, it sounded like he was throwing himself against the door like a little police officer trying to serve a warrant. He was so relentless, that the squad from Law & Order should be calling him to arrange an interview. Eventually he was let back in, and within minutes, The Beautiful One had to get up and out of the room to feed them, so I could sleep for another couple of minutes.

It was a big day here in TinyTown. It’s the annual Heritage Day. It’s a day of parades, food trucks, petting zoos, orbs, and of course, country music, and beer. We didn’t end up going. It’s gotten a little expensive with the cabaret being added onto the ticket. So we did our own thing. We watched the parade, and then managed to get some ground bison, and a block of Velveeta. for the rest of the afternoon, we were lazy. Crystal played Neir: Automata, and I tried to play Civ 7, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas on my phone. Civ has way too much information, and GTA is playable but difficult. I’ll probably uninstall them.

Then it was time for SummerSlam. I had a couple seconds of trouble trying to get it up and running, but a quick reboot of the Roku, and we were off to the races. We followed along with the WWE subreddit for a while, until it was time to start to cook, so I paused it, and The Beautiful One and I started to make our Nachos. I think we enjoyed the matches that they put on for night one. As we got our plates of nachos, I hit play, and we ignored the subreddit.

I thought that matches were pretty good. Some a little slower than others. Some were funnier than others. But finally it was time for the main event. CM Punk vs Gunther. It was a very slow, technical match. I enjoyed it as much as you can for a slow technical match.

SPOILER ALERT:

Talking about cars and dreaming about women never had a plan just a living for the minute

THE WEEKEND IS HERE

Podrick started early this morning. So I got up and removed him from the bedroom, closing the door behind him. But don’t worry, dear readers, he made his own fun out in the living room. I have a large Medieval Times mug that has bottle caps in it. I heard a thump in the morning sometime. I prayed to myself that it wasn’t the TV, ( how could it? It was just a small thump in the grand scheme of things) so I rolled over and went back to sleep.

But every one of us is awake. Podrick is finally eating his breakfast. Pippin has already had hers. She’s either in the bedroom, or enjoying the sun on the table at the back door. They’re slowly starting to accept that the other one isn’t going anywhere, and they should probably start to get along. Sometimes it works, and sometimes they just fight.

It’s the towns festival today. The parade should be rolling by the Flat around 10:30 this morning. We were planning on going, but for both of us to go, it would cost $50 to get in, then we’d have to pay for food, and drinks at the party tonight. We can just save the money and have nachos tonight with some alcohol, and watch Summer Slam. So in a couple of hours, I’ll head up to the abattoir, and see if possibly they have ground moose, because I think that would make really yummy taco meat for the nachos.

Coffee first.

The cats are suspiciously quiet.

Happy Saturday everyone!
