From Mozambique to those Memphis nights, the Khyber Pass to Vancouver’s lights

Good afternoon to all 2 people that actually read what I write. It’s ok, I understand that what I write is far too advanced for mere mortals to take in and understand – but, please keep at it. You can do it!

I was up at the ungodly hour – the hour that should be outlawed, and removed from every clock in the world; 5am. According to my alarm clock it was 5am, but in reality, it was 5:16 according to the stove clock. I brewed some coffee, and then fed the kittens. Pippin ate like a lady, all dainty. Podrick wolfed down a couple of mouthfuls of food, then was very lovey and snuggly.

Work wasn’t too bad. We got in and got to work. I got the store ready to open, and then it was time to measure the gas and the diesel. By the time I was done that, it was time to turn the sign on, and mentally prepare to greet the first customer that strolled in about 40 minutes later.

Work was actually busy for a Saturday opening. A lot of people decided today was the day that they wanted to get gas. We pumped a lot of fuel this windy day. I have totally had to get my toque out of the truck – when you have no hair, the wind is pretty chilly.

But I’m at home now, with The Beautiful one, Podrick, who’s playing with a soda cap, and Pippin, who is keeping an eye on him, as well as looking out the front window, surveying her queendom. Me? I’m gonna start laundry, because my clothes are filthy, and it’ll help me stay awake.

No change, I can change I can change, I can change but I’m here in my mold

I woke up slightly cold, having a hard time breathing, but Pippin was snuggled in the bed with us. Podrick, locked out of the bedroom, because, like his beautiful mother, is a chaos gremlin.

He is chaos personified. And he’s rotund. But he’s cute, so we’ll keep him. I have to go and help my dad remove a couple of RV batteries, then I think on the way home from that, I’ll stop at the vet, and see if I can get an appointment to get Podrick fixed in the first week of September. That’ll take some of the gas out of his tank. But right now, he’s in front of his bowl, pushing food into his mouth. Man, does he have an appetite. He’s very food motivated.

There are times that they get a long. Mostly when he’s too tired to chase Pippin, they’ll coexist in the same area. Sometimes pretty close, but other times sleeping in the same general area on the bed. There are wholesome moments with them.

The sun is shining and it doesn’t look like it’s too breezy out there. Hopefully it doesn’t go the way most days have this week – starts out sunny and gorgeous, then slowly the clouds roll in, and so does the wind. It’s not gonna be the warmest out there. It’s actually been a shit summer, temperature wise this year. Today has a high of 69°.

Play on playette, play on playette Yo, Dre, drop the verse

The Beautiful One let me sleep a little longer, even though I stole most of the blankets in the night. She’s been deflecting Podrick away from me for probably a couple of hours. That’s why she’s the queen. And, she let me snuggle her for the whole time she was in bed. I believe at one point there was a snuggly kitty in between us.

Podrick is currently looking out the back window. She’s been playing with a coffee creamer cap. It’s huge compared to the soda caps. I believe that Pippin hung out with us for a couple hours last night, after Crystal closed the door locking out Podrick. I fell asleep before Pippin came up onto the bed.

Work wasn’t too bad last night. Just busy enough to keep the time moving really quickly. Before we knew it, it was pretty close to 6, so we started the closing procedures. It was pretty quiet once we hit 8, it was pretty much a ghost town with only one or two people coming in during that hour. As my coworker was writing up the deposit, I snuck around and shut down all the computers. We were out pretty quickly.

So we’re all up. The kittens are rather quiet. So they’re probably sitting on the back table together. Slowly but surely they sit close, but he’ll still chase her all day, every day if allowed. Come September, I’ll be calling the vet, and setting up his appointment to get snipped.

Coffee first. Happy Thursday everyone!

And I’ll be better when I’m older I’ll be the greatest fan of your life

Good morning. Podrick was nice this morning. I mean he was still doing Podrick things, but nice. I mean I could feel him crawl over top of me, and meow, but he wasn’t chasing his tail on top of me. I think he’s quietly watching kitty TV out the back door.

Maybe even sitting next to Pippin on the table. I’m not going to look, because if I do, they’ll get up and Podrick will chase Pippin away. So I’ll just assume that they are snuggled together.

I didn’t hear them after we went to bed last night. I mean he was playing and running around, but that just turned into background noise, kind of like my fan, and I passed out pretty quickly. I think at one point this morning I felt him in between us.

It’s bright and sunny out there, but like most days this week, that’s how it starts, then it slowly devolves into lots of clouds that threaten rain. Hopefully today is different. I still bring my hoodie to work every afternoon, and yesterday I wore it all shift. I guess summer is over, and we already transitioned into fall. It feels like the transition was weeks earlier. I mean it hasn’t been HOT at all this year.

The coffee has been brewed, and when I hit Publish, this post will be up as a celebration of the day of the week – Wednesday. Let’s gooo!

I’ll make you mine, you know I’ll take you to the top I’ll drive you crazy

WE slept in! After kicking the cats out of the bedroom at 5 this morning, I crawled back into bed. I ignored them when I heard something fall. I ignored them when I heard the something fall, then roll around the floor. I went back to sleep. Crystal went back to sleep (!!!).

It was her water tumbler.

When Crystal told me it was 8:30, we got out of bed. I went out and made breakfast for the kittens. Podrick was jumping around my feet. But I made him wait, so I could get both breakfasts ready to feed them. I put Podrick’s food down at his spot, and Pippin was sitting on the table by the back door, so I fed her right there. As they ate, I stood guard, and also waited for the coffee to be ready for consumption.

Now we’re up, and both kittens have full tummies. Podrick just went back to keep eating. He’s a chonky boy. But he’s also a growing boy.

Last night I watched Raw. It wasn’t too bad. Some good matches, and of course, a total shitshow for the main event. But even that was still good. I was definitely sports entertained.
