But I’m a third generation bartender and I like livin’ from a tip jar week to week

Good and happy Monday morning my friends. Of course it’s dark out there. And windy. It was wicked windy last night. I’ve yet to open the curtains to see how windy it actually is. I don’t even know what the temperature. But it’s probably cold out there.

The Patriots lost last night 29-13

It’s a rebuilding year. Or something like that.

We didn’t do too much yesterday. I mean it was the lords day after all. We got up, I think early. It’s been a while since I’ve even made it to 7am in a week or two. Podrick keeps a tight ship. If he wants you up, eventually, he’ll break you.

But, we got up and started our morning yesterday. I know it was early. Maybe 6 am or so. I started the coffee, and refilled the carafe once. I think around 8ish or so, I started the laundry. I didn’t do the rest of the chores yesterday. I was just present in the morning.

I made our breakfast brunch. And lemme tell you, I did pretty good. I’m still practicing with the little egg poaching cups. They turned out better than the week before, and they’ll probably be better next week. Crystal had a toasted bagel with 2 slices of melty cheese, and bacon.

At Shady Acres, I hauled in the remaining bags of wood pellets, then cleaned the stove. It’s not too bad, just a lot to vacuum. But within a half hour, I was back upstairs with everyone else. I put on a special about the Blizzard of 78, and the fallout that happened in Rhode Island. After that, I put on a rodeo, so we weren’t sitting in complete silence while everyone was on their devices.

Back to work this afternoon, and I need to refill my coffee cup. It’s Monday people, let’s start this fucking week!

Drink some holy water from a Dixie cup

Good morning my friends. It’s cold, it’s dark, it’s a day that ends in a y. Yep that’s right! Podrick is being 100% pure Podrick this morning!

Fuck yeah!

All sorts of banging and running around this morning. Mostly due to Podrick chasing Pippin all over the place. It’s been a morning so far, I tell you whhhut.

It was freakin foggy yesterday. I can’t speak for today, because it’s still fucking dark. It’ll be dark probably until around 8 or so. Then we’ll see what’s going on out there. I’m slowly starting to get tired of the constant dark. But slowly it’s getting lighter earlier.

Nothing too much planned for today. Laundry and whatever chores I have the energy for. I need to clean the bathroom sink. It’s starting to look … used. Then I’ll make some brunch. I’ll hand feed pieces of pancake to my beautiful wife, and then she’ll fling maple syrup at me, and we’ll laugh.

‘Cause I’d like to see you out in the moonlight I’d like to kiss you way back in the sticks

Thanks to the medication I’m on now, I’m pretty sure I saved my job. Long story short, the kids switched shifts, and then the kid that was supposed to open (who closed last night), slept in. I called him and when he picked up, I said two words to him and hung up.

You’re late.”

He arrived like 5-7 minutes later (only about 40 minutes late in total). I had already opened, and served a couple customers. I didn’t scream or rant or anything like that. I think I was more frustrated and stressed.

It’s been a day so far.

I wore shoes that weren’t Adidas today. First time in probably 10 years. I bought some shoes yesterday that were on clearance. A pair of sketchers, and a pair of reeboks. I wore the sketchers this morning. They were pretty comfortable. Light. Different. But comfortable.

It’s gonna be a lazy day here. I’m probably gonna do a load of sweaters, as they haven’t been washed yet this season. Maybe a couple of movies. I want to unwind a little so I may play Red Dead Redemption for a bit. Lunch is in the air fryer.

I’m tired, boss.

I’d like to walk you through a field of wildflowers and I’d like to check you for ticks

I shouldn’t be awake right. A combination of a stuffed up face, making it difficult to breathe, the bed way to fricken hot, volume either too high or, can only dogs hear it at this point. To the stomach ache that hit me probably around midnight. I was waking up a lot in the night.

And of course there’s the Podrick factor.

There’s always the Podrick factor to consider.

I feel just as bad for Crystal, who’s probably been up since 4. I just want a cool bed. A cat that doesn’t chew wires, and my beautiful wife to sleep more than 4.5 hours a night. Everything else will take care of itself after that.

It’s gonna be a busy day once the sun comes up. We’ll be heading to SlightlyBiggerTown for an oil change. Then we’ll do our weekend shopping. We’ll do the tour of the town, and then come back to The Flat.

But right now, I need copious amounts of coffee.

It’s Friday. It’s almost the weekend. SMACKDOWN! tonight.

I’m hell on heels, baby, I’m comin’ for you

Podrick woke me up early. But he was all to blame for that. I was warm, then cold, then warm again. Plus I couldn’t breathe through my nose. Podrick is just being Podrick. But, yeah, it’s fucking annoying to consistently either wake up, or be woken up by the orange starting off by lumbering over me. Back and forth, back and forth.

So I’m up. Crystal more than likely has been up since around 4:30 or 5 this morning. I feel terrible that every morning is the same. Get up. Look at your simple drooling husband. Fend off the orange menace from waking said drooling husband. Keep the kitten away from wires. Over and over. It’s got to be very frustrating for Crystal.

Work was different. I’m not sure I’m enjoying the 8-4 shifts. But it’s what it is. I walked into the store, and in an effort to look busy, I tackled the weekly cleaning list. In an hour and 45 minutes, I did a weeks worth of cleaning. But you can only clean a pig up so much.

We were told groceries were going to be late, because a vehicle has broken down. That was technically wrong. But anyways, the groceries finally showed up about 15 minutes before 1st shift was set to leave. They helped to bring it in, then left. Over the course of the next hour, me and another co-worker managed to get everything out. For the next two hours, we helped customers, and kept the store going.

On the way home I stopped at the post office to pick up The Beautiful One’s Temu package. Crystal stopped playing her game and went through the treasures that were contained in it. I inflated an inflatable.

Dinner was an amazing taco night for two. Crystal cooked the succulent meat perfectly. I microwaved the tortillas and we sat down to eat. It was like a feeding frenzy. So very very good. I was food entertained. Crystal also did the dishes – bless her.

Coffee now. Happy pill swallowed. Ta Thursday, I don’t have underwear on. Let’s goo!
