Well, fuck this city, I’m movin’ to Saskatchewan

Good morning everyone. Crystal and the kittens let me sleep in. I didn’t even hear Crystal picking the cats out of the bedroom. My face is stuffed full of snot this morning. I can feel it pressing against my eyes. Like I said to Crystal, thank you for letting me sleep in. I guess Podrick was playing with something under the bed, and whatever it was, it was really annoying Crystal.

Yesterday was a really nice day off. I did the laundry, and the rest of the chores. During the chores, I made us some brunch, which was also really tasty. We didn’t do too much yesterday. I kinda puttered around. I repotted the Christmas cactus, but other than that, I really didn’t do too much.

I played a couple of hands of Balatro, but didn’t really get any good runs in. The cards weren’t there. The jokers definitely were not there. So I switched to lower stakes. It didn’t matter, I think I only had one run that got to round 15. Every other game didn’t make it to round 5. So yeah I knew when it was time to put it down.

We had beans and wieners for dinner while watching Monday Night Raw. It was a bit of a mess. They did another tribute for Hulk Hogan, and then just jumped into the most random matches I’ve ever seen. Don’t get me wrong, they were good matches. Just random. After Raw, I put on some History channel shows, because I still like learning things. After that it was starting to get late, and my eyes, and nose had caught something in the air, and I had having a bit of an allergy attack. So that’s when we decided to go to bed.

And now it’s a new day. It’s gray, and the kittens are mostly active. Podrick is trying to get on the upper shelf that holds all the plants. Pippin is probably at the back door, keeping to herself. She’s starting to get tired of his shit (we hope). She is starting to stand her ground. Yay!

Living my life in and out of the twilight zone

That’s great, it starts with an earthquake. Metaphorically. Podrick, annoyed from being locked out of the bedroom, finally launched his attack. It sounded like he threw his body at the door. It was at that time, Crystal and I were ripped from slumber. Because in my dreams, The Beautiful One and I, are curled up asleep, Crystal of course is quietly snoring. Me? I’m probably curled up, and slightly drooling.

What actually happened, you ask? Well, I’m not sure but it probably was like this – Crystal, watching TikTok, or editing photos, or videos. Me? Trying to snuggle Crystal. But it’s warm, so I’ll try and shove a hand under her. Also, I’m drooling like a leaky faucet. I try and snuggle Crystal more, but like I said, it’s warm, so she envisions slowly putting a pillow over my face, you know, to stop me drooling.

Finally, a day off. It was an action packed week. First time in a while, where I had five days scheduled. But I powered through it, and ended up on the other side. I’ll be doing chores. I’m really gonna try to actually do all of them. I always skip at least one chore, because I’m a lazy bastard. But I’ll try and do them today, or tomorrow.

It’s been warm here the last four or five days, and the last couple days it’s been humid. This is Podrick’s first summer, so he’s experiencing the heat and humidity for the first time. Pippin is mostly used to it, and will hang out in the cool areas of the Flat. Poor Pod just exists – he’ll sleep on the linoleum. He’ll find a cool place to sleep.

You know I’m in love with an uptown girl, my uptown girl

Before I even knew what I was doing, I kicked Podrick out of the bedroom this morning. He was chasing his tail in between us on the before probably around 4:30-5am. So out her went, and I was back asleep pretty quickly.

The rest of the Flat didn’t look too bad this morning. I guess over stimulated rage can’t be contained by overwhelming tiredness. I’m guessing that Pod fell asleep after playing a little. Only a couple of things were knocked over. I consider that a win for sure.

Back to work for an all day shift – the Sunday shift. One of my coworkers hates working Sundays. He doesn’t like to open and close on the same day. He says it’s too much work. Le sigh. I don’t mind Sundays, as you open the door at 10am, before you know it, it’s noon, then 3 pm, and it’s time to start getting ready to close. Then, BOOM! It’s closing time.

And scene.

But first, I need to get coffee in me, and a shower, so I don’t stink up the place. And maybe if I’m lucky, snuggles from a cat. Happy Sunday my friends.

Tommy used to work on the docks, union’s been on strike he’s down on his luck, it’s tough, so tough

Hey hey. Another late post. I was up again, at the ass-crack of dawn to go to work. But I made it there in time, and got the store opened. They I did the extra stuff that’s needs to be done on a Saturday morning. It was a wicked slow morning, even more so than other Saturdays – so we cleaned. We have a weekly and monthly cleaning list. The monthly is finished. We usually finish it around this time, so my coworker and I moved on to the weekly list. I think there’s 15 items on the list – there’s two not finished now. Accomplishment!

After work, I picked up The Beautiful One, and we headed to SlightlyBiggerTown for much needed supplies. With the supplies gathered, we stopped at Subway, and picked up lunch/dinner. Once home, the groceries were put away, and the food was consumed. Now I could nap, but it’s way too late for me to nap. So I’ll find something on TV, perhaps Smackdown or possibly play Balatro for a while. My attention span isn’t really that long right now. I’ll find something though.

Just gotta survive tomorrow, and the. I’ll be on two days off! W00t. Sundays aren’t usually too bad. I do find my energy slowly start to taper off around 3ish. But we’ll get it done, and have the store looking good for when the BossLady comes in Monday morning. And tomorrow for dinner, motherfucking burgers!

Jack be nimble, Jack be quick (oh-oh-oh-oh-oh)

Good morning everyone. It’s bright and sunny out there this morning. It looks like it’ll be a nice day to work this afternoon. Podrick, for the most part, let us sleep. It wasn’t 5 am when he pulled us out of bed, it was around 7 when he started shit out in the kitchen. So we got up. I slept for the most part, pretty good. I got up in the night, and was really warm, so I moved up to the upper layer. I fell back asleep very quickly, but then found myself cold. But too stubborn to go under the heavy layer, I tried to snuggle up, but was told I was way too warm.

As you see above, Podrick has breeched the fortress of solitude. There is now no place for Pippin to hide away from Pod, she’s dealing with it, but as you can see, Pippin looks very unimpressed that the orange tomato, made it up on to her bed. Like I said, she’s dealing with him. Her first thought most times isn’t run, but to stay and defend herself and when she is.

That’s a good thing.

Back to work this afternoon. Shouldn’t be too bad. Let’s get it done! I need coffee. Happy Friyay everyone!
