Someday the mountain might get ’em, but the law never will

Thank god it’s Friyay. I’m tired, man. It’s been a long long ass week. I’ve spentnkosy of my days this week, working second shift. The closing shift. Today, I got to experience (again) the fun of closing, and then the next day opening.

Spoiler alert, it wasn’t much fun at all.

But that doesn’t matter. It’s Friday, and that means it’s date night. It’s also bright and sunny out, and it doesn’t seem like there’s a lot of wind anymore.

So yeah, that’s it. I just woke up from a nap, so I’m gonna do my best to wake up. Happy Friday everyone!

Little darlin’, it feels like years since it’s been here

Well, here we are again. This will be the harder of all the shifts. I work until close tonight, and then I don’t get to sleep in tomorrow, I’ll be up at 4:30 for first shift on Friyay. In fact, I have to go and change my alarm clock right now, before I forget about it.

There, that’s one less thing I have to try to remember tonight. Now I can come home after work tonight, and pretty much go to bed, and hope I fall asleep somewhat quickly.

Work last night was way better than the night before. You see, the night before, it was pouring rain. Yesterday was bright and sunny. With just a little bit of wind. Today, looks and feels amazing so far. It’s so nice out there, that I’m afraid to look at the weather app.

It was pretty much a normal shift last night. That is until a customer bursts in and says,

Have you heard the new Shabuzzy song? It’s country. It’s a good song, even though he’s a <insert hard R here>.”

Well me and TisimBoy were shook. Shocked. Didn’t know what to say. Thankfully, it got a little busy, so she bought her cigarettes and left. But we were surprised to say the least.

Hopefully it’s like last night tonight. The weekend is getting closer as we speak. Come on Friday!

They could care less as long as someone’ll bleed

Well, the rain has stopped (for now). All we need is for the wind to stop as well. Hopefully that’ll stop soonish. Yep, here we are. Fresh out the bed. I’m getting used to second shift. It’s hard though, because two days out of five, I’m working mornings.

So it goes.

Last night was mostly slow, with the rain coming down. We did manage to get soaked. But about two hours before we closed, the rain stopped falling for the last bit of time was mostly dry outside. Yay!

Right after I hit post, on this fire ‘zine, I have to check the coat that I wore last night. It was pretty much wetttt. If it’s still dampish, I’ll toss it into the dryer for a little bit.

Back to work this afternoon. Delivery day. And for the next two days, I’ll be stumbling through the closing procedures. I know how to close, in theory. lol. So I’ll do it tonight and tomorrow, and probably once or twice next week, and then I’ll call it good.

‘Cause I’m never gonna stop the rain by complaining

Morning, all. It’s been raining, I think for all night. These goddamn farmers better be happy with all this rain, cause I sure ain’t. I’m not even impressed. Now, it’s just warm, and I still have to wear a coat.

We’re all awake here, and Chaucer wants into my lap. He’s slowly making his way on to my lap. He’ll snuggle until I finish posting, then it’ll be time to start the day. He’s just happy to be on my lap. He’s a good boy.

Other than that, Pippin is up and looking out the front window. She cried a little to put the table out the back door. I explained why I wasn’t going to open the door for her this morning. She probably didn’t understand, but I said my piece and I think she’s ok with it.

Closing shift for a couple of days. I have to actually close the store a least a couple days this week and at least once next week, because my fears have come true, I’ll be the head honcho in a couple of weeks, ON A SATURDAY.

Oh joy.

I need more coffee.

Happy Tuesday you great people. I hope you have a drier day than I’ll be having!
