So darken your clothes, or strike a violent pose Shawshank, March 5, 2021 I think it’s Friyay. If it is, woohoo, we made it! If not, we’re almost there, you can do it! So yesterday, I went to the post office and asked if it didn’t come in yesterday, if the post mistress could call CaptialCity, and I’d go there. About an hour later, I get the phone call. It’s here. Of course. That’s my luck, I just got a pile of things to do, and I have to leave. Long story short, it’s in Fedex’s hands now. And that’s all I have to say about that. I was all over yesterday. Shoe store. Book store. Value Village. Walmart. It was a very good day. But a long day. Back to reality now! And my coffee is ready. That’s my cue. Have a super sparkly day! Byeee! Life Armed with will and determination, and grace, too July 12, 2023 Welp, it’s morning again. I’ve been up on and off since around 4 this morning. Between Pippin, unruly sheets, and losing the power of breathing through one’s nose, it was a tossy turny morning. Chaucer is already crawling up on to my lap. Pippin is off doing Pippin things, and… Read More
Life The stars at night are big and bright (clap, clap, clap, clap) Deep in the heart of Texas March 23, 2021 Good morning! It’s the start of another work week here. I miss my heated mattress pad. I woke up cold cold COLD this morning. It’s my fault though, I didn’t realize it would get as cold as it did with the window open. Granted, it’s not open much, but it’s… Read More
Life You’re so fine, I want you mine, you’re so delicious July 13, 2023 Good morning my friends. I actually almost made it to 7am. I think I kinda woke up, and looked – 6:32. Not too bad. I think Crystal was already awake. But I don’t know for sure, because I looked at the clock and then closed my eyes again. Work wasn’t… Read More
Happy Friday, my friends. We’ve reached the end of the traditional work week, and the weekend is right there in front of us. Right there. The wind is back, fortunately not nearly as bad as earlier this week. While the strong gusts don’t feature in today’s weather, it’s just windy enough to make it chillier than usual. However, it’s sunny today, and sunshine is all we should expect for the next week. Even better? It looks like it will be beautiful weather to drive down the east coast. The postmistress in TinyTown is amazing. She knew Shawshank was expecting important paperwork – he’s only gone in at least thrice daily every day this week. Yesterday, she dug through a morning mail delivery until she found his consulate packet. Then, because it’s TinyTown, she called him at work. Unfortunately, the packet didn’t arrive early enough him to make the cutoff, and won’t begin its journey back to the US until around my lunchtime. Shawshank sent pictures of everything before he sent it out, as requested. The aggressive paralegal acknowledged and approved their sendoff. I’m doubtful anything will happen until Monday, but it feels so good to know the end is near. It was a busy day for both of us, actually. We both did a little bit of shopping. I have just enough food in the house for the next couple of dinners. However, lunches are a bit spotty, and I have to decide on whether or not to order Hometown tonight. The truck has been packed for a week. I mopped the floors yesterday. The fridge is empty. I have three small tote bags, two laptops, and a taxidermy chicken. Please let this be my last weekend here.
