Two more years and you’ll be done with school, and I’ll be making history like I do

Good morning party people. We’re up and sitting in the couch, on this gray, chilly, rainy morning. The Beautiful One, kicked out Podrick, and shut the door on him. I was out like a light again, and slept until her alarm went off. She, of course, was wide awake. Probably from about 4:30-5am. I don’t know how to help her stay asleep after that time. I really wish I could help her with that problem. It must be so tiring for her.

Work wasn’t too bad yesterday. At one point my coworker asked if it was gonna be busy or not, due to a rodeo the next town over. I had totally forgotten about the rodeo. I said it’ll probably be quiet. And it pretty much was. After 6, business dropped off. We still had people coming in, but it was just a handful of people instead of more coming through before we closed. We did have a couple of barrel racers come through with their mom to get diesel, and to get a propane tank filled up. That was the last large bill that came through. After that it was just the usual locals coming to get cigarettes and snacks before we closed.

Today is chore day, so I’ll be starting that in a bit. It’s too quiet, I think Podrick is planning something. But he’ll be helping me get the laundry sorted. He loves to dive through the clothes piles as they sit and wait for their turn in the washer. It’s cute. He’s like a clothes pile shark. Then we’ll head over to Shady Acres this afternoon for dinner. Work tomorrow afternoon. Coffee now, thankfully. Also, in a few hours, brunch.

This is the greatest and best song in the world. Tribute

We’re up early. No fault of anyone, other than my own body betraying me. I must have slept wrong, or the fan blew on my neck or what have you. It hurt to lay down. It hurt to roll over. Then add allergies. I can barely breath standing up, never mind laying down.

So here we are. 6:13 in the morning. Coffee has been brewed, and the kittens have been fed. Podrick is doing Podrick things while Pippin just shakes her head. They both snuggled in the bed with us this morning, until they figured out that both of them were on the bed.

Look at that! 1800 posts! I can’t believe that I’ve posted 1800 times. IN A ROW! I’ve never been consistent like this in anything else. It is a major accomplishment for me. I’ve been serving dinner for 5 years here. Hopefully, I’ll be serving for another 5 years. Wouldn’t that be an accomplishment?

I don’t care that I’m up this early, it just sucks that I have to work today. This afternoon. But it’s all good. I’ve already taken some Advil, and in a few hours, I’ll get in the shower, and with the water as hot as I can stand it, I’ll get my neck under the spray. so let’s get this motherfucking day started, huh? Fuck yeah, sunrise! (The sun rose at 5:02 this morning.)

Said, I shot a man named Gray, took his wife to Italy she inherited a million bucks and when she died it came to me

It’s another early morning. Podrick was being Podrick. It’s all fun and games when you’re chasing your tail, or climbing the tapestry. I’m not doing too bad. My allergies are pretty bad this morning. But that’s pretty much normal every day. He’s had his breakfast, and a “good boy” treat for not chasing Pippin. However, he did not get “good boy” treats for sleeping calmly in the bed, and not chasing his tail, or climbing the tapestry. But he’s a baby, and has an over abundance of energy.

Lemme tell you, Pippin perked up when I turned on the motorized laser yesterday. She started to chase it, just like with the last one that we had. And she played with it this morning as well. She was playing with it this morning while Podrick ignored the world and ate his breakfast. soon, Pippin should be hungry enough to want breakfast, and we’ll put Podrick into the bedroom so she can eat in peace.

Work was busy last night. They just kept coming and coming. And usually when it’s busy the time seems to go faster. Not last night. It felt like we were slammed for an hour – it was 15 minutes. Time rolled on pretty quickly though. It’s been a weird summer so far – like not warm at all. I’m still wearing a sweatshirt to work, and leaving it on all shift. Once the AC kicks on at work, it’s frigid.

Crystal got me a new shirt, and I want to wear it, but it’s way too cool to just wear under a sweatshirt. Hopefully it’ll warm up soon. According to the weather app, it’s supposed to be a high of 73° and mostly sunny. So fingers crossed that it’s warmer when we get out of the shower, and are getting dressed.

Back to work tonight. Same as last night. Let’s kick some more ass. Or whatever. But first, coffee!

Saturday night, dance, I like the way you move pretty baby

I slept like the dead last night. I don’t think I moved too much in the night, I’m a little stiff this morning. I think Podrick was mostly good this morning, only starting to play with a toy or chase his tail, or climbing the tapestry until it was just about time to get up.

The story is a little different for Crystal. She was up, and dealing with him since around 5 this morning. So I feel bad for her, not being about sleep, protecting me from being ripped out of sleep early. She’s the best. She protects me while I sleep.

We played video games for most of the day. I pushed myself to get back into Persona 5 on my phone. I got out of the palace that I was in, and explored where I could go in game. I did some basic side quests, and some cooking and gardening. I don’t think I even went back into the palace because, I’ve read there’s no time limit on completing the palaces anymore. Perfect, let’s explore.

After Persona, I switched to Balatro. And cue 3 hours of not even getting past the 5th or 6th round. So I switched to a completely different deck and just played around. After a couple of dinner, we watched Tuesday nights episode of NXT, I really started to take off. It was on white stake, which I had already completed, but it was a fun run. I made it to round 26 – the farthest I’ve ever gotten.

And now, a moment of zen

Fire all of your guns at once and explode into space

It’s been an evening, night and morning. Last night I was just high enough that I could hear every sound and object that Podrick was playing with. He got onto the Warhammer shelf, but only knocked down and was playing with just one figure. From there he just played with a couple of his own toys. In the morning, he was adjacent to me, chasing his tail. He’s tiny, but it feels like he’s shaking the whole bed.

But, he’s starting to get better. The mornings, he’s wired for a couple of hours but even that’s not lasting as long. Sometimes in the morning he’ll eat his breakfast right away. Sometimes like today, he’ll have a bite or two and then run like a crazy cat. He’s currently eating. I think that Pippin is on the table. She’s starting to get a little better too. She’s starting the chasey chasey game more, and is not really putting up with his shit. She’ll tackle him, jump to a higher elevation, and then when he’s looking for her, she’ll pounce again.

Work wasn’t too bad last night. It was steady for a while. It was a cooler evening, so I didn’t take off my sweatshirt. Of course, the AC had to be running the whole night. If there’s no snow on the ground, the AC must be on. Maybe it’s because I’ve never really had AC, but opening the windows would’ve been much nicer. But I just dressed for warmth, and the day went pretty good, until about 7ish.

Around 7, it got quiet. So we did part of our closing stuff. That last two hours were just slow. We sat outside, because, the slurpee machine was squeaking something awful. when it was time to start the actual closing, that’s when people started to arrive. At 8:58, we had two guys come in and say “boy are we glad we made it, we just got back into town”. We, the workers, were not impressed. But they mostly grabbed their stuff quickly. We finished closing, and were out of there.
