I only hope I won’t disappoint you when I’m here down on my knees

Good morning. Last night I forgot to take the trash out, because even though it’s thanksgiving, they still pick up the trash – on the holiday. Weird! So I dragged it out first thing.

Before coffee. Lol

I had more weird dreams all night, but none that I can remember this time. I did wake up a couple of times thinking that would should try to remember them. The only one I remember was the last one. My gramma got COVID, who gave it to my mom, who gave it to me, who gave it to My dad. I then had to go over to Crystal and tell her through the door, that she may have COVID as well. She opened the door and we made out with grabbing and pulling and all the stuff you shouldn’t do on the front step.

Since today is thanksgiving, I’ll be making green bean casserole, and homemade noodles for dinner. Lemme tell you, I’d rather be having turkey meatballs with Crystal. If it meant I could be with her, I’d eat yams, and cranberry sauce. I’d have a plate just of those items.

Your mouth so hot, your web I’m caught

Weird dream #1

When I was (and I’m guessing) 5 or 6 (I think) I had a dream that I climbed the hill across from my house. I call it a hill, maybe a small mountain. I found a cave and went into explore. I found a huge room in it with flags and all that sort of stuff. Well this dream, I went back with Crystal and a couple other people. It looked exactly the same, but with more details. Lots of crossbows on display. But more like a Masonic temple. It was just like I was a kid again. Some many details it’s hard to really describe. Like a whole other world in that cave, with history and everything.

Weird dream #2

I was working in the electronics section of like a JC Penny or a big box store like that. Commission based. We were having a huge sale, and of course I’m new, but I’m the manager. I have a customer looking seriously and this beautiful 32 or 42 inch plasma screen and the biggest DVD player I’ve ever seen. But I can’t find the inventory screen to see if o even have more on stock. I just ended up selling the floor stock, WITH the extended warranties, AND got their address.

I’m surprised I remembered these to write them down. Happy Sunday!

Shaking hand with the clock I can’t stop

Welcome to the first Lockup Library Book Club. We’re reading The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova. First published in June 2005. Its her first book. And, it’s my first reading of this book.

The Historian; chapters 1-20

I’m really enjoying the book. It’s a slow burn for sure, but so much information so far to process.

The book starts off in 1972 with a young girl finding a book and papers in her fathers library. Her dad is a diplomat, and is away a lot of time time.

My dear and unfortunate successor

This is the introduction to the world of 1930. She reads a fantastical letter on how the writer believes that Vlad Tepes or Dracula is still alive.

From there, she’s asks that her father take her on his trips into Europe, so he can tell her how he got these papers, and how, back in 1930, he went to find out if what he read is true.

The book switches back and forth from her fathers time (1930) and her time, 1972. He father is almost nervous and afraid to be relaying this information to his daughter, but he does. And at one point, requests that she wrote down what he’s telling her. I believe that this is his way of passing the the book, and the letters from the 30s to her and a new era of exploration.

The writer, Elizabeth Kostova, really draws you in to the world that she describes. I do however, find myself wanting more of the story. She can really build up the suspense as she unfolds the father telling his story.

So far, I’m totally into this novel. What about you guys? What parts have you enjoyed so far?

I said get down, turn around, go to town – boot scootin boogie

Good morning my lovelies. It’s a cold crisp morning out here in TinyTown. With the wind, it’s currently 0c – I’m gonna put my sweatshirt on pretty soon, if this coffee doesn’t warm me up.

It’s book club day! When Shady Acres goes down for their afternoon nap I’ll write out a quick little thang for the first 20 chapters for The Historian. You can still play or read along!

Here’s where it gets awkward. I have no other news. Nothing else really happened. I mean, I forgot to get the weekly newspaper. And I’ll be getting this today sometime. But that’s it.

It’s cloudy. It’s windy. But I see the sun trying to make its way through the ground.

I love you, and I miss you a lot.

They’re gonna clean up your looks, with all the lies in the books

I have a book haul! Well, a book haul over the last two days. Completionist? Yeah, it’s been picking at me.

When I first got to TinyTown, I found The Lord of the Rings. Cool, I thought. Then a few weeks later, I was in a rush and thought I was picking up book two, when it was really book three. That annoyed me. Like a month or two ago, while in SlightlyBiggerTown, I found book two, but thought, I didn’t need it right away, but if it’s here the next time, I’d pick it up. That went on for weeks. I finally got it today. Set completed.

I’ve been searching for this one for a while. Like I told my mom, this will be good (set completed) until I can buy it so it matches the other ones in the set. Now, finally, I can read the whole saga again. Woot! Lmao now the mission is to find all the mass market paperbacks for the saga! Oh my god, what have I started?

This one is for Crystal. I know how much she loves this series, I saw it at the end of last week. I asked her if she wanted me to get it. She said not to worry about it, but you should’ve seen her eyes light up when I showed it to her last night. It made my whole week to see her happy with it. Now, another series to find all the books for her! Granted, I’ll probably read it too.
