Well, the cats wouldn’t let me sleep. it wasn’t all the cats fault, but mostly it is. I was nice and asleep at 5:30, when I heard the sound of Chaucer starting his rave. I got up and grabbed some paper towels. I couldn’t find any puke anywhere. So I went back to bed. I tried to sleep, but I was so so stuffed up. Pippin at one point climbed under the blankets to try and snuggle. But it was on the side that I couldn’t breathe. So she left. Both of us moved just a little bit and that set off Chaucer. All meows and purrs this morning. So, while I was basically up at 5:30, I’m sure Crystal was up long be fire then. She must have been a little warm, as I wasn’t allowed to snuggle her. So we got up. I did my normal wake up things, Chaucer so far has eaten all of his breakfast. That’s a 1/4 cup of dry food. He didn’t get sick after eating all of that food. Of course, I haven’t refilled the water bowls yet.
So yeah, we’re up. I don’t think we’re too happy about it. But it is what it is. The plan today, once it’s not an obscenely early moment, we’ll be getting some gas, and heading off to SlightlyBiggerTown to get some groceries. I think my vape pen might be good for another week. I’ll have to check the bills account balance, and I might be able to cover the fuel. And we’ll have to make a shopping list as well. It’ll be a nice morning. I had suggest maybe A&W, but Crystal brought up an excellent point: it’s so much better eating on the couch at home. So maybe Subway. I don’t know. We’ll figure it out. Either way we’ll have fun, like we always do!
The weather here over the last couple of days has been all over the place. Cool to the point of cold. Wednesday, I actually had to turn the heat on at work, just enough to take the edge off. Then it was mostly sunny and warm – hell, I actually wore shorts yesterday. But this morning? Back to a little froggy out, and cool. Overcast. That means my allergies are totally going haywire. I’ve actually taken the meds. I usually don’t take them this early. I try stubbornly to try and drain as much as possible. But I had too this morning. I just wanted to have a normal morning again where I wasn’t up and down every couple of minutes (let’s get real, seconds) to blow my nose.
So yeah, that’s the story of this morning. Was it the perfect morning? Not in the least. But I wouldn’t change it for the world. All the most important people are here, and that’s what matters. So for todays coffee cup salute, let’s salute Saturday mornings, and how much better they are than Monday mornings. Viva la weekend!
