Good morning my beautiful girl! An ok breakfast, got a new library cart, so before breakfast, I plundered it. Then laundry came, and I got back everything I put in it! Oh happy day! One of the books I grabbed was The Handmaid’s Tale. Should be good. I enjoyed the first season. So at least this morning has been good. Oh, also managed to snag 4 envelopes from the C.O. (corrections officer) this morning. 6 total envelopes, 3 stamps. Getting more stamps soon!
So I hope your morning is going good and you don’t have the arrogant 12 year old today.1 It makes for a long day if you’re working with someone that really should be running in traffic. I hope you guys get more toilet paper and hand sanitizer soon.
Medline just came in. The nurse is wearing a mask. Makes me feel very safe. NOT! I know it’s a precaution, but it’s still unnerving. Keeping myself busy. Just swept out my room, drank a big ole cup of water. I’m thinking I might read a little. 3/4 of the way through Harvard Yard by William Martin. I think you’d like it. Mystery set in the past and present, around some of the founding families of Harvard.
Just caught CNN. The Breaking News was they just shut down air traffic control at JFK to clean, because an employee tested positive for corona. And the Gov. of California told the entire state to “lock down”. That’s like 40 million people. Sorry that I tell you the news, but 99% of this stuff is new to me.
The next time you see me, I believe I’ll look like a lemon. They are switching our neon green shirts for bright yellow. Nice, we’ll really stick out in a crowd now! I’m never going to wear these colours again. These are totes not my best colors to wear. Lol instead of lemon and lime, I welcome our new 100% lemon overloards. Bonjour! Comma say vah? Now whats really funny is that most of us wear two different yellows. Hahahah!
Well, I think that this was the first time I’ve had frito pie. It wasn’t too bad. Just some fritos leftover from a couple of lunches ago, and “taco” meet from a couple of dinners ago. Not bad at all, but I’ll probably chalk that up in the “thanks, but no thanks” column in the future. The taste of salt, though, was nice.2 Now drinking a lot of water though.
1 I sometimes refer to one of the fill-in bosses as “the 14 year old” because he looks like he could be a middle school student. – ed.
2 Shawshank’s biggest complaint about the food has always been the lack of salt.
