The road is longThere are mountains in our way but we climb a step every day Shawshank, October 6, 2022 Good morning my friends, it’s a clear, but cold day out there this morning, and Crystal slept on the couch, because of the plague that she’s carrying. That happened early in the night, so it was me and Chaucer on the bed. Pippin came up shortly before the alarm, but was growled off the bed pretty quickly. It’s cold out there. It’s currently below freezing outside with a high of 6°🦫. It’s definitely fall on the prairies. But coffee has been brewed, and The Flat is slowly waking up. Only a couple more days between me, and a real vacation! Woohoo! Life blogbloggercoffeejournalmorningsTinyTown
Life So much for all your highbrow Marxist ways just use me up and then you walk away January 11, 2025 I’m awake. The Beautiful One let me sleep in again. Hopefully, she got to sleep a little later than normal? But she weals probably up early as per usual. We took off to SlightlyBiggerTown yesterday morning. We hit all of our usual spots, with one deviation: the fabric store. We… Read More
Life No-one knows who she is or what her name is September 23, 2025 It was a weird sleep the whole night. I feel rested, but I was up multiple times, and chasing the Podrick. Finally, at his normal time, he jumped up on my nightstand. But the time I flailed enough, he had run out of the room. Perfect! I closed the door… Read More
Life Hang tight honey I’m a white line running down a dream on a long-lost highway June 6, 2026 Good afternoon. I was up again early for work. I woke up, awake, at 4am this morning. I was able to sleep/doze until 4:30, when I said, fuck it. Might as well start the day. And thus, the day started. I got to work and did the extra duties for… Read More
Good morning, interweblings. Happy Thursday. I woke up to overcast skies and my first wind chill warning. I’m very happy I bought a heavy coat when I bought my new suitcase before I left Pensacola. Every day, the cats are a little bit better with each other and the changes we foisted on them. We’ve been leaving the bedroom open so they see and interact with each other. Chaucer thinks he’s King Shit of High Turd Mountain and hisses at her, but only when he’s not on the floor. As long as he’s higher than she is, he acts like an asshole. On the other hand, Pippin really wants to play with Chaucer. The last few nights, she’s run after him or directly in front of him. Until last night we were actively trying to prevent the kerfluffles. However, last night both cats seemed to be in “play mode” to an extent, and decided to hide on either side of the foot rest. We were treated to watching the two cats stalk each other, Loony Toons style, around the obstacle. According to Shawshank, Pipping tried to join him and Chaucer in bed this morning, but Chaucer hissed at her. We had plans to go out today; Shawshank is making a delivery near a scenic lake and wanted to take me along. Unfortunately, I had a nasty asthma attack in the middle of the night, and plans changed. We agreed that maybe it’s for the best if I stay home today, and out of the cold wind. I really hate having coughing fits when I’m out in public. I feel bad enough about it happening in the Flat, where someone lives in the apartment next door. While Shawshank assures me he only hears that person’s shower, I worry I’m disturbing everyone within a 2-block radius when I’m barking like a seal. Regardless of whether or not I have an inhaler with me, there’s really nothing to be done for the attacks. The only thing I can do is find a quiet spot and relax. If I’m out and about, that’s impossible. In fact, having trouble is worse when I’m out, because now I’m sitting there, coughing up a lung or two, while anyone who sees me thinks is she actively dying? And people staring doesn’t help matters at all. Reply
