Tears of the kingdom – 4 days in

So, I took Friday off so I could play the game. Holy shiznit, it’s freakin huge! It’s overwhelming all over again. I don’t know what to do first. Well, of course I did the tutorial first, you kinda have to. That was an exercise in patience. No paraglider for the first 4 or 5 hours that I bumbled around the starting sky-land.

Once I got to the ground, that’s where it got HUGE. Lots of familiar places, and people, but everything felt so very new at the same time. I have to say it was really cool that people actually remember you.

In the first game, people had no idea who you were, and the Koroks simply called you Mr. Hero. Now, you’re called by your name, or in the case of one person, you’re just called The Swordsman. However, some of the people that you interacted with in BotW, don’t remember you – like your bestie, Beedle. That made me a little sad.

One thing that did surprise me, and made me smile was that the stables remembered you, AND you have all your horses from BotW! That’s awesome! I didn’t know this until I had tamed a horse and brought him to the stable.

Now I have two horses named Tampoon.

The blood moons are back. I should really record how many I’ve gone through to figure out how many hours I’ve played. As of this writing, I believe I’ve gone through 3 of them so far.

Pretty much the regular areas that you visited in the last game are here, but majorly changed. I think there’s about a 5 year difference from the end of the last game to this one. So kids have grown up a bit, and some things have changed, but it’s still just the same Hyrule, but also completely different.

I’m really enjoying myself. I still have to really get used to all the new abilities. I don’t think I’ve really fixed anything, unless I needed to for a shrine, or helping an NPC stand a sign up a few times. I’ll get the hang of this stuff before too long.

So, I think right now, if I were to label this game with a number out of 10, I’d have to say 9.5/10. Everything is breathtaking for sure.

Who knows, I could be wrong, and it’s just a piece of flavour for the game! Only time will tell!!!
