My tight dress and red lips, I know you want it, I’m just living that life

Here I am, I didn’t forget about you, dear readers. I had to be up at the ass-crack of dawn. Before dawn. I was at work when dawn began to break.

It was a rare 5:30-1:30 shift for yours truly. Thankfully I didn’t have to be outside for long, because our part timer who only goes to do gas had to be out in the cold.

I took a chance and wore my steel toed Docs to work. I was worried that my feet would be killing me after 8 hours, but my feet feel fine after.

We’re expecting more snow this weekend. It’s my first week of being the “night manager”, so I was asking BossLady all sorts of questions regarding the snow. It’s business as usual. That’s all I needed to know.

But none of that matters right now. It’s for future Shawshank. Right now I have Chaucer on my lap, and I’m home relaxing. Seems like a good Thursday to me.

666 with a princess streak

Yep, it’s snowing.

I was up at 4:30 this morning. BossLady asked me to be on call in case she wasn’t able to get out of her property. I texted her shortly after I woke up saying that there was no snow in town. She thanked me and told me to back to sleep.

Let’s just say I went back to bed. I tossed and turned and fell asleep just very lightly between 5:30 and 6 when the alarm went off. I think I got maybe a total of 4 hours of sleep.

I’m gonna try and make it to bed time.

Fingers crossed.

So I get into work at 8 and make myself a coffee. It’s slow at work. I’m really not used to working during the day. I mused that I miss the night shift.

But the came to an end the second shift arrived and I stayed until 3:30. There wasn’t enough for three people to do so I left. I’m on the couch now, with a very happy Chaucer curled up on my lap.

Crystal is playing her game. It’s a fun game I really just can get used to the screen angle, and I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t have the attention span for the 30 minute+ fights as well.

Poutine for dinner tonight. Yum!

Ayy, cowboy hat with the chaps (chaps), real hot girl shit, put it on the map

Crystal let me sleep in an extra fifteen minutes, and I love her for that.

I open up my phone, and see that we’re under a snowfall watch for today. The first snowfall of the season. Yay. I’ve been dreading this for a couple of weeks. If it snows, it’ll stick, and if it sticks, we’re stuck with it for about 6 months.

We (royal we) are not impressed.

So, we’ll be heading to SlightlyBiggerTown to get food and other needed supplies a little later in the morning. It shouldn’t be a terrible drive, even with the possibility of the snow.

Happy Saturday!

Everything is bleak it’s the middle of the night

You see that picture? That’s karma. That’s a new employee. 2nd day. Idiot. I’m not fond of them. But that’s besides the point. Earlier, before this, they told me that there’s a customer outside that needs help. Mind you it’s snowing, and a little windy. I’ve been outside on and off for about 7 hours at this point, and they’ve helped one customer.

“Shawshank, there’s a customer outside, they need some help.”

Ok, what’s the problem? Go out and help them.”

“But I’m cooold.”

I went out and help the customer, came back in, and told BossLady. She’s not impressed.

So later on, I’m outside again (because I said that I’d stay an extra two hours to cover a call out – due to the shitty weather, helping a customer, the co-worker gets in her car, cranks some sort of rap or something, and the next thing I see is their car in the ditch.

Just deserts 🙂

Then shortly before it’s time to go, I’m outside helping a customer again, I see my mom drive by. I wave, she honks the horn. I think nothing of it. I’m driving home, and I see a bright blue tractor pulling out a silver truck that looks like my mom’s. I drive to a place that I can pull over and wait. Then I think that that couldn’t be my mom’s truck. So I drive past Shady Acres, and she’s not home yet. Oh shit.

I drive out back onto the highway, where she passes me. I turn around and follow her back to Shady Acres to see if she’s ok. I carry her groceries in. And thankfully, she’s ok and the truck is ok.

This snow can stop anytime. I have to shovel soon. But probably tomorrow. I worked a 10 hour shift today. I’m tired.
