Home video – You Can’t Take The Sky From Me.

Sometimes there’s way too many choices on Netflix. So one falls back on what they like. What they remember as fun way back. So many shows and movies make me home sick.

This is a comfort movie. I’ve seen it many times. I still like it. I’m not a militant fan of FireflySerenity I don’t demand that they make another season. I enjoy it for what it is – a western in space.

I am a leaf on the wind. Watch how I soar.

You walked into the party like you were walking on to a yacht

Sunday funday. It’s almost the start of a brand new week. The weekend always goes so fast when you have the Saturday off.

Coffee is brewing.

Yesterday, I drove to SlightlyBiggerTown. I went to a department store to look at v-neck tshirts. They didn’t have any. So that’ll go on the mental list for when, sooner or later, we go to a Walmart. From there I went to the drug store to get some more toothpaste and a new toothbrush. From there, I went for lunch. It’s a rare sight to see a KFC and a Pizza Hut in one building, but here’s one.

I placed my order, and was told it would take about 20 minutes. Like 10 minutes later my lunch came out to the truck. I had to eat in the truck because they are the last place in SlightlyBiggerTown that still has their dining room closed.

From there, I was off to the weed store. I had to replenish my supplies, and I wanted to find something for my mom. I was looking for something high in CBD, and low in THC. Crystal suggested the cookbook that they have on display. I laughed, I don’t think she’d use it enough to justify the $40 price tag. So I got her a couple of chocolates. I’ll be sure to report back if she tried them.

Right before I left the town, I stopped at a hardware store and picked up some awesome shelves for my books (big thanks to everyone that replied to my last post about your bookshelves. Wait, that was sarcasm, no one replied to my last post. Or the post before, etc)

Today is gonna be a somewhat lazy day. I only have a couple chores. I want to read a little and just relax.

Happy Sunday everyone!

Just built! Show me your shelves! Do eet!

Hey book nerds! Before I went to SlightlyBiggerTown, mom suggested I look in the local hardware stores to find some shelves for my books. I had a stack of books, up to my hip on the floor because they wouldn’t fit on my shelves.

As I was waiting for my KFC, I surfed over to the local Home Hardware, and found what I was looking for – plastic shelving. With these shelves, I can hold a 1000 pounds of books, if I wanted to.

And they can be added to. They are prebuilt to be interlocking, which is a great feature, if and when I need to add another. For the first time all my books are in one place.

So please, some audience participation. Please, link me in the comments with pictures of your bookshelves. I really want to see what they look like.

Home video: Homeland

Here’s where I watched Homeland Season 1, Episode 2: Grace. It first aired in 2011 on Showtime. Now it’s on Netflix Canada. So I figured that it’s a lazy Sunday here, and the fact that it’s -27 with the wind, I watch an episode. I started watching it last week, the pilot episode was better than most pilot episodes that I’ve seen.

This is the main character, Carrie, played by Claire Danes. Carrie works for the CIA as an operations officer, and she suspects a recently returned POW is a double agent. It’s a very good slow burn. Little bits of action thrown in here and there. Carrie has the POW, Brody’s house wired for sight and sound, but couldn’t afford to bug his garage, where unknown to her, prays in the morning. He’s Muslim.

Every twist, and every turn has you asking yourself, is Brody a double agent? Is Carrie mentally fit, or is she paranoid about Brody for no reason. I have to find out. I’ll be watching more of this show for sure. I like shows like this where it’s a slow burn, and they always keep you guessing. I suppose it’s more like everyone’s good and bad. It’s all different shades of grey. It’s not just black and white.

I saw a werewolf with a Chinese menu in his hand

So I just finished watching The Twilight Saga: New Moon. Like the book, and Chinese food (man would I love some Chinese food), it leaves you feeling empty, yet wanting more.

Like the book, the movie is the weakest of the Saga. It does have a good representation of depression, although the book, in my opinion, does it so much better.

It’s a wolf thing.

What a joke!

It’s a vampire thing. It’s a Canadian thing. It’s a coffee thing. It’s a bacon thing. It’s a hipster thing.

What does that even mean?

Listen, the movie is 130 minutes long. In that, there’s approximately 2.5-4 minutes of actual move the plot a head action. .0345 minutes of Aro laughing (not as good as in Breaking Dawn pt 2 – but I digress), and way too many minutes of wet, 80% naked man-children. Really, he looks sticky.

Course I guess every Saga can have a weak movie in it. I mean look at Return of the Jedi. Stuffed bears. And don’t get me started in all three movies of The Hobbit.
