Hip-hip-hooray, for Christmas vacation

Hey hey people out in the wild interwebs. It’s another day, and if you see the tags associated with this post you’ll be saying “That Shawshanknis an idiot, or he’s not fully awake yet, because he’s using tags for the day before. That’s just not right. That boys not right.” Well, you’re correct. I’ve used the tags for Sunday. But we had to go out yesterday, and also bake, so I figured I would do the chores today.

So that’s what’s going to happen. It’s chore day here. In a man hour or so, I’ll be firing up the ol washer and dryer. Then I have to figure out what the heck to cook for dinner. Maybe it’s because I’m just awoken, but I have no ideas yet. We’ll figure it out.

Last night I had my staff Christmas party. It was just a small thing, BossLady had a couple of games to play, and everyone brought food. I brought the famous pumpkin chocolate chip cake, which, by the way, everyone just loved. I won a couple of the games, and won some coffee mugs, and some scratch tickets. I may or may not have won $10. I’ll take all the tickets into work and see if they were a winner or not. It was a fun time. Everyone left laughing and joking around.

As soon as I got up this morning, Pippin was requesting a shoulder ride. So she rode around on my shoulder as I got the coffee prepared, and ride on my shoulder back to the couch where she jumped off, and immediately wandered over and got on my lap, much to the dismay of Chaucer.

She’s silly, and very snuggly this morning. She’s in for a surprise when I need to get up to get more coffee. I’ll hold off as long as possible. She looks so comfortable. Happy Monday my friends. It’s the start of a nice week. Let’s have a great day!

Update: OMG my guys, I just remembered we’re having brunch today! Woot! Woot! La Push baby, La Push!

It’s time for Christmas Day (Go Jenna) buy a small tree like Hoda Kotb for the holiday

It’s Sunday morning, and it feels warmer today, than it was yesterday. That means that the wind has finally died down. It was crazy yesterday. It was supposed to go away in the early afternoon, and it slowed, but it never actually went away.

Work was pretty good yesterday. It was somewhat busy, right after we opened, but died off to a trickle, then picked back up again. It was a good day. I learned how to dip. That was exciting.

I got home and made a few slices of bacon, and then tots, and finally cheeseburgers. It was a glorious meal to be had. We had it, and we were totes full. It was so good. I can fry up a really good burger.

Today is supposed to be chore day, but I have a staff Christmas party to go to today. I’m kind of annoyed that Crystal can’t come, but it’s an unsanctioned party after hours at the shop. So I can understand. I’m not going to stick around too long. But since it’s the Christmas party, and a secret Santa thing, I have to go and get my santee their present, and get a box of cake mix and frosting to bring tonight.

Also Subway.

So yeah, all chores will be taken care of tomorrow, that includes brunch. I’ll also be stripping the bed, and washing that as well.

Next weeks schedule should fly by – 3 opening shifts, a mid shift, and a Sunday shift. This week will be going by quickly I hope.

But for right now – coffee and contemplation. Happy Sunday, you bunch of glorious assholes!

Later we’ll have some pumpkin pie and we’ll do some caroling

*yawn* here we are again. Early freakin morning, on a Saturday. I’ll be working in a few hours. I think it took a minute for me to fall asleep, but when I did, I only woke up one or two times. The first time was either 12:22, or 2:22. I was warm. Glistening, in fact. I slid both my legs out from under the cover embraced the cold for a second or two, and fell back asleep, feeling cooler. The second time was even shorter. I think it was either 5, or 6 am. Again, just for a second, before I fell back asleep until the alarm went off.

The coffee has been brewed, and we’re enjoying the first couple of sips, as we both start to write our daily posts. Crystal gave the cats some catnip this morning, and they have both partaken of it. Partook? I’m not an English major to figure that out. It’s still early, maybe I’ll figure it out sometime today.

Yep I have to work today. My first weekend shift. If yesterday is an indicator, it should be pretty busy today. For about an hour and a half to two hours last night. For me it was busy. Car after car, and a steady stream of customers coming in. We got through it, and after the “rush” it became manageable when the swing shift left, leaving me and the closing (for lack of a better word) manager. Closing didn’t have any problems, and we got out of there right when we were supposed to. I don’t think that I forgot to do anything, and the shop looked pretty good when we left.

And now, here we are. Chaucer is gonna be annoyed after I hit publish, as I’ll be having to get up to go to the bathroom. But that’s ok, he’ll get over it. Let’s go Saturday! Hopefully the shift will go without a hitch, and time flies. But first, let’s have some coffee!

Hey Griswold, where do you think you’re gonna put a tree that big?

Welp, here we are again. Good morning my friends. I once asked a guy I worked with long ago, that if you have to work on Saturday, is Friday still an important milestone for the week. He said of course it is, it’s still the end of the week, and that’s fuckin important! Don’t shit on Fridays.

I consider that pretty sage advice.

Happy Friday everyone! We’ve made it! It’s been a long week of closing the shop, then opening it, and here we are, closing the shop tonight. Tomorrow will be my first weekend shift. I’m told it’s busy.

I got my first pay check today. woohoo!

Yesterday wasn’t too bad. The day went pretty quickly, until about noon, then time seemed to slow for a little while. Then all of a sudden, it was time to go. I flew out and drove home, ready to relax for a bit.

I gave Crystal the choice of going out for dinner or just ordering a pizza. She chose pizza, and it was pizza day, so we got two free appetizers. I believe she enjoyed the mozzarella sticks over the mushroom bites.

It was yummy, but a dense pizza. I could only get three pieces in me. I was stuffed.

But today is a new day. Let’s see what happens today!

12 drummers drumming

Here we are again, o dark thirty. I’m a broken record, but I slept like the dead. It only took mere minutes for me to drift off to sleep. I think I was up, and out to the bathroom around 2 or 3. Or I just woke up and look at the clock. I really can’t remember. The next time I woke up, it was 6:58. Come on! Why couldn’t I just wake up when the alarm went off?!

But here we are.

Awake.

It wasn’t a bad day at work last night. Kinda slow. But we got it done, and made more money than first shift. The night crew kids are very nice, and so much patience for an old dude like me. So far, I get a long pretty well with everyone. I’m on my third week this week, and things are starting to click. Slowly. But they’re clicking.

Today is the last day off until Sunday I believe. Two opening shifts then a closing shift, and then Saturday shift – 9-6. Should be too bad. And I should be getting my first pay check on Friday.

Nothing major planned for today – heading over to the second hand store, and the post office. We gotta pack up the package for the in-laws today. Other than that, nothing is planned. Which is nice.

I’m gonna end this today, I need to get more coffee, and do some other things. But I have a snuggly Chaucer. He’ll be mad that he needs to move, but he’ll get over it. Happy Tuesday y’all 🙂
