I like the way you do that right thurr

Well, it’s that time again. Time to get up out of the totally comfortable bed, and back to the real world. And now, here we are. The wind has finally died down, and while it’s still cold out, it seems warmer. Just let me have it, I haven’t looked at the weather app yet.

Yesterday was a total pile of laziness. I didn’t do a whole lot of anything yesterday. The only thing that I did was strip the bed, and get it in the washer. After it was washed and dried, I remade the bed. There’s nothing like climbing into a warm, freshly washed bed. It was a good sleep last night.

Today, I think will be much of the same. It’s chore day here. After a couple of cups of coffee, I’ll start that in a few hours. Nothing too major to do, but we’ll get it done.

Oh, and today is brunch day!

Only because I have to work early tomorrow morning. Yay for bacon! But really we don’t have a lot to do today. Chores, and heading over to Shady Acres for dinner. There’s a chance I’ll be moving some wood pellets into the house, because my dad’s not feeling too well, and can’t lift anything heavy. So I’ll get a few into the house.

But right now, coffee and couch snuggles for a little while. It’s still dark but, the sun could be coming up anytime. Probably in about an hour or so. Happy Sunday everyone. It’s the lords day!

The king and his men stole the queen from her bed

Welp, here we are again. Up in the dark. I actually got up at 6:49. I really had to pee, but I was determined to go back to sleep. I did my thing, and crawled back into bed for the 10 minutes. I think I managed to get back to sleep.

Then the alarm went off.

Crystal got up about a minute or two before the alarm went off, so she did what she needed to do, then the alarm went off, and I heard the lights come on in the kitchen, and the switch to the coffee pot was clicked. So I got up.

Got dressed.

Here we are.

Nothing on deck for today, just the chores. Which I’ll start in a little bit. Since it’s still ass fuckingly cold out – -44°F with the wind (it’s warmer than yesterday morning!), I’ll be starting the truck, and taking it for a drive. Plus, one of the only things we forgot yesterday when we were getting groceries, was the litter. I’ll be stoping at work to grab some.

Since I work tomorrow, it’ll be the classic combination of chores and brunch day! Woohoo! Like I said up there, I’ll start that soon. But first, coffee and contemplation.

Happy Sunday/fun day everyone. I hope you’re warm wherever you are.

They danced through the day and into the night through the snow that swept through the hall

The morning came very very early this morning. At one point I thought I heard Chaucer getting sick. I yelled out, and immediately fell back to sleep. I’m a terrible kitty dad. I think I got up in the night to go to the bathroom, but I’m not too sure. Maybe. Maybe not.

It’s a mystery.

But we’re all up now. Chaucer is on Crystal’s blanket, which he’s kind of taken over. Pippin just jumped up and is totally comfortable on my lap. It’s been colder her, and she’s always trying to jump and snuggle in my lap.

It’s not that I had a terrible sleep, it just was broken up m, by waking up, and all that jazz. I was a little tossy turny. I don’t think I was too warm, just up pretty early, and just dozed mostly. I think I’m gonna try and possibly nap this afternoon. I’m of a certain age now. I guess we nap now.

But first, coffee.

We’ll drink a cup of kindness yet for the sake of auld lang syne

Good morning, happy New years! Out with 2023, and in with 2024. 2023 was a wild and crazy year, and from what the news is saying, 2024, is expected to be just as crazy. I hope that it’s just a little less crazy, and a little less pandemic. Can’t we all just get along?

But yes, it’s the new year. It’s pretty peaceful out there this morning. I love getting up at this time because, the town is still asleep, and it is so very quiet out there. Soon the town will wake up, and then the sounds of the town will start up. But not too much, because everything is closed today. That’s fine, we’re not going anywhere.

In fact, since I had to work yesterday, all the chores will be happening today. In just a few hours, the sounds of industry will start to echo through the Flat. But that’s in a few. I want to get some coffee in me, you know, to help the eyes focus.

Work actually wasn’t too bad. It was busy, but I think since I was more prepared for it. We didn’t have the rush at 12:30, like Christmas Eve, but the main rush happened right as we opened. That’s a good thing, right? Get the busyness of the day right out of the way. There wasn’t a lot of random people coming in, it was mostly steady the whole day.

The day went a lot quicker, which is awesome! We got out, pretty much on time. I drove back to the Flat, and started the haul of appetizers. it was a full plate meal, and it was very very good. There were fries, pork ribs, chicken nuggies, and some shramp. We ate until we almost burst.

We made it to the east coast ringing in the new year, but we could bring ourselves to stay up another hour. So we got into bed, and wished each other a happy new years, and snuggled in for a long winters nap.

Happy 2024 everyone!

Gosh your lips look delicious

Omg guys! It’s the day before the night before Christmas! That’s right, bitches only a few short hours before the fat man comes into your home, eats your snacks, and probably puts your clothes on to see if your skin will fit him. But if he likes the snacks that you’ve left out, he won’t take your skin, and he’ll actually leave a present for you.

Hopefully that will be the outcome when he comes to The Flat. I hope he’ll like the snack that we have. I’ll leave a note apologizing that we couldn’t leave the snacks out for him, because we have cats. And they’d eat the snack if it was left out. But in the note I’ll tell him where he can find it.

Yesterday at work was a busy day. It started off slow, but really picked up the closer we got to when I had to leave. I was given the choice of leaving 15 minutes early, or sticking around to cover the counter. I covered the counter, and I was glad that I did. We had a 25 minute rush, and three people were absolutely needed.

After work, I had been summoned to the old job. I was a little nervous, but way more curious about how much stock was left. Well, I walked in, and I could tell old BossLady was in the bathroom. That’s fine, it gave me all the time I needed to take some pictures of the shop. It’s empty. But not empty at the same time. It almost looked like how a store like that is supposed to look like. After some small talk, I was on my way with two bags of fabric for Crystal, and two small presents for each of us. For Crystal, she got a beret from the store. We recognized the hand written price tag. I got a toque with a light built into it.

I got back to the flat, and showed Crystal all the fabric, there’s some good stuff in there for some pants. Some really funky fabrics. From there, we headed out for date night at the local restaurant. I had wings, and Crystal had the usual. Of course, it was yummy like it usually is. We ate, paid, and left back home again.

From there, I played No Man’s Sky until it was time to shower. Shortly after our shower, it was time for bed. We slept, but we were both up early, me around 6, and I don’t know how long Crystal was awake before I woke up. This afternoon might be nappy time. We do have to go out to SlightlyBiggerTown this morning for some last minute presents, food, and some weed.

Since I’m working tomorrow, I’m going to try to get the chores done this afternoon when we get back. We also have to stop by Shady Acres, as my mom is making some cornbread for Crystal – so we’ll have to grab the other ingredients for her cornbread stuffing.

Well, I’ve written a novel here, so I’m gonna hit submit and get some more coffee. Happy Saturday. Make sure you’re getting flesh strips ready for the reindeer. They have a taste for human flesh, if you didn’t know that. Human flesh, or squirrel. They can’t tell the difference. Weird, huh?
