Can you take me higher? To a place where blind men see

The coffee is brewing, and the sun is slowly rising over the houses here in TinyTown. It’s another day. The last day off before next weekend. The cats are slinking around the flat this morning. I’ve already tried and failed to wrangle the cats.

I slept like the dead last night. I think once I got comfortable, I didn’t really move. So I’m a little stiff and sore this morning. That’s just me getting old though, so there’s that to look forward to, if you’re young and reading this. If you are, and you are, do everything possible to stay young.

Wear sunscreen.

Nothing much planned for today. Chores. Brunch. The typical Sunday fare. I actually like Sundays. I like doing the chores. And eating the bacon. We had a highdea last night of taking our garlic and mozzarella breadsticks and putting them in the waffle maker. We’ll have to report back if we do that.

We’re under a special weather warning for the next couple of days. A stupid Alberta clipper is flying through here tonight, and will be fucking up the weather for the next couple of days. They say we’ll be missing most of the snow, but we’ll be getting the winds. Oh, the winds.

I’d rather have the snow.

I need another cup of coffee, so I’ll sign off here. Crystal must be relieved that I didn’t put on the sage this morning. Last night, I was teasing her that we were going to binge Twilight all morning and hopefully complete it before heading to Shady Acres this afternoon.

Maybe I’ll still put it on. We’re wild, and crazy here. It could happen!

You got to take the elevator to the mezzanine

“GET OFF ME, GAS BOY!”

That was the war cry this morning, when I attempted, by stealth to snuggle as close as possible to Crystal. I was doing everything right. Moving slow, as to not be noticed by her. I had my mission, I accepted it, and was in the movement phase. I knew what I had to do, and was executing that, when the words rang out.

In order to maintain some sort of I don’t hear you. I held position for a couple of seconds. Then I withdrew. Defeated. Internally, devastated. retreated to a safe position. I think at that point, cold, and with no kitty snuggles, I had to generate my own body heat. Thankfully, the alarm went off shortly after.

And now, here we are.

Crystal is in her rich heiress robe. It’s a very pretty light green robe with fur around the arms and the bottom of it. It was her valentines present. It looks really good on her. She likes it, and that’s a good thing. I’ve been doing pretty good on the gift side this year.

Work wasn’t too bad yesterday. It was totally manageable. Not too busy, but not really totally dead either. Time went somewhat quickly. It’s always the last 20 minutes or so, that seems to take forever. But suddenly we were closed, and there were still some people trying to get in. Thankfully, the door was locked at this point, so we just said “closed”, and ignored them.

Nothing much on deck for today. Chores. Brunch. Hanging out. I’ll be back to work on the holiday Monday. Same hours as yesterday. So hopefully it’ll go quickly. Then after tomorrow, it’s back to opening again. So I can sleep in one more day. The older I get, the more I appreciate the sleeps.

Ok, time to shut up, and to drink some coffee. Happy Sunday, my friends.

Glaciers melting in the dead of night

Hello world.

Good morning, greetings and salutations. It’s a dark Sunday morning here in TinyTown. The coffee is brewing, and we’re awake, but not liking it this morning. After almost a week of setting the alarm for 4:30, it sure is nice to sleep in until 7. I had gotten up around 5, I think to go to the bathroom. I thought to myself, it’s gonna suck to reset the alarm for 4:30 tonight. And I was sad about it, until my mind told me, fool! You have Monday off! Rejoice! Rejoice! I did, and went back to sleep.

In an effort to just be “in the moment” with Crystal, I didn’t play any video games yesterday. I tried to watch an interesting documentary on an abandoned town in Massachusetts. I didn’t make it all the way, and went into the bedroom for a lay down. Even with that hour and a half nap, I passed right out at the normal bed time.

Weird.

I guess I needed the sleep.

Today will be a little bit the same. Except it’s chore day, which I’ll start in a little while. But it’ll be a lazy day here. Then this afternoon, we’ll be off to Shady Acres for dinner. Nothing major. But that’s later on this afternoon, so currently, it’s not even on the radar yet.

What is on the radar – coffee.

So I hope y’all have a great Sunday. It shouldn’t be too chilly out there. A little windy this afternoon, and possibly some sun peeking out before sunset.

It’s getting freaky on the floor feel that rumbling sound

Good morning world. We’re all awake here. Chaucer is crying to try and trash talk Pippin. Pippin is off somewhere doing Pippin things. The coffee has given us a gift this morning, in the form of liquid energy. I had a good sleep.

I can’t remember if I got up in the night. I think I looked at the clock at one point, but I don’t remember what time it was. I slept like the dead. I’m not too sore this morning. Over at Shady Acres, we ended up moving 3 beds. One from out of my mom’s room – that one will be sold on Facebook marketplace. One from my grandmothers room to my mom’s room. And my dad’s bed from the basement, up to my grandmothers room. Then some things out of my dad’s basement room, up to his new room upstairs.

Whew. I hurt this morning.

Thankfully, there’s nothing to do today. Other than the typical chores for a Sunday. Plus, brunch. We can’t forget the goodness that is brunch. There’s nothing else planned. Possibly a nap this afternoon. Maybe not. Who knows, the whole day is ours to do what we want.

I need more coffee. Have a super Sunday my friends!

Hate to give the satisfaction, asking how you’re doing now

I’m feeling pretty groggy this morning. I think I had a good sleep. I passed out pretty quickly last night. I don’t think I moved too much until about 5, when I had to get up and go to the bathroom. I climbed back into bed, and then suddenly, the alarm went off.

Yesterday wasn’t actually too bad. I got into work for 7am. We started counting, and pretty much by about 10-10:30, the main part of the counting done. Around 11, we broke for a quick lunch. After the lunch, we started the discrepancy report, and that went rather quickly. I left shortly after that. Not a bad day at all. Probably the easiest day at work. I got to tell customers to leave, and or get out of the store. It’s always a good day when you can tell the people coming in, that no, you can’t actually buy anything today.

I came home and played some No Man’s Sky while Crystal snuggled with Chaucer, and napped while I did some boring “office work”. If I can, I’ll post about it today. It was pretty good. I didn’t have the brain power to actually do other things. I cleaned out my inventory and moved all sorts of stuff around.

Today will be a nice day. Since I had to work yesterday, all the chores will be taken care of this morning. Also! We’ll be having brunch today! Woot, brunch! Other than brunch, there’s not too many plans today. Possibly a nap. A nap would be pretty nice.

It’s slowly starting to warm up here. You see the problem isn’t that it’s warming up, is that it’s too early for it to be warming up. There’s at least one more cold snap out there for us, and one, maybe 2 good snow falls that hasn’t happened yet.

But I’ll take this nice weather for as long as it’s with us. Warm weather in January is a nice thing.

Back to work again tomorrow. It’s a week of opening shifts. That means up early, but also home early. That’s the way I’m thinking of it. Happy Monday everyone.
