I like to dream yes yes, right between the sound machine

Welp, I’ve had better sleeps. Too warm, tossy turny. Too stuffed up to breathe properly. And now, here I am. Awake while the coffee brews. It looks cold out there. We’ve been below freezing now for about a weeks. Even the high temp isn’t above freezing. I miss shorts weather. And another kick in the pants, it looks like it snowed again. But I can’t be sure, I didn’t leave the house yesterday. I probably won’t leave the house today.

I will leave the house on Monday. To vote. I wonder if they give little “I Voted” stickers here. Probably not. I always wanted the little sticker.

But it’s gonna be a good day today. I hope anyways. Nothing planned. Star Trek: Into Darkness is up next, I have Crystal, and coffee. It’s gonna be alright today! And maybe later, if Crystal poi’s, I’ll watch Eclipse.

Happy Sunday y’all!

I saw a werewolf with a Chinese menu in his hand

So I just finished watching The Twilight Saga: New Moon. Like the book, and Chinese food (man would I love some Chinese food), it leaves you feeling empty, yet wanting more.

Like the book, the movie is the weakest of the Saga. It does have a good representation of depression, although the book, in my opinion, does it so much better.

It’s a wolf thing.

What a joke!

It’s a vampire thing. It’s a Canadian thing. It’s a coffee thing. It’s a bacon thing. It’s a hipster thing.

What does that even mean?

Listen, the movie is 130 minutes long. In that, there’s approximately 2.5-4 minutes of actual move the plot a head action. .0345 minutes of Aro laughing (not as good as in Breaking Dawn pt 2 – but I digress), and way too many minutes of wet, 80% naked man-children. Really, he looks sticky.

Course I guess every Saga can have a weak movie in it. I mean look at Return of the Jedi. Stuffed bears. And don’t get me started in all three movies of The Hobbit.

Oh I rush and rush until life’s no fun

Look who’s back, back again. Book Clubs back. It’s the third week of the Lockup Library Book Club. We’re almost to the end of The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova. I hope you guys are enjoying this as much as I am.

The Historian chapters 41-60

Ok guys, it’s starting to get good. There’s action, in little bits, and you’re left wanting more. Is there going to be a pay off? I sure hope so. But there’s two stories going on at once, and that’s basically my modus operandi by now.

All of a sudden, boom! there’s a secret society, and that’s pretty much my bread and butter, especially after Foucault’s Pendulum. (Which by the way, y’all HAVE to read.)

This secret society is tasked with making sure that Dracula stays dead, and doesn’t hurt anyone else. Let’s just say the society does what it’s tasked with, and dispatches someone that they think will shortly be turning into a vampire.

Now, the main characters in the 1930’s are on their way to Bulgaria, and the secondary characters in the 1970’s are deep in France, looking for them? Confused? Good. Who has two thumbs and won’t spoil anything?

This guy!

Alright ladies and gentlemen, we’re on the final push now. All we have to read are chapters 61-79, and we’ll be finished this awesome vampire book. And just in time for Halloween.

Next week when we come together for the final Book Club Meeting for The Historian, I’ll unveil the next book up for the Lockup Library Book Club treatment!

Happy reading everyone.

Long live our noble Queen god save the Queen

Weird, weird dreams. I’d blame Crystal, but this was all my subconscious.

We flew to England. I went right to a book store, and bought a copy of Breaking Dawn.

I flew all the way to London. You know London; fish, chips, cup o tea, bad food, worse weather, Mary Poppins? London!

But at the same time, I’m pretty sure I picked up first edition copies of Harry Potter.

I also had a toaster oven. But it wasn’t a toaster oven. It was an actual oven, just shrunk down to the size of a toaster oven.

But it wasn’t a toaster oven.

Ok, coffee now.

Oh the warmth in your eyes swept me into your arms

Since it’s wicked cold out, and since it was supposed to be cleaned on Sunday – my dad turned it off Sunday afternoon, I was asked to fill it Sunday, so I did and turned it back on again. So I was asked to clean it today. I did the basic cleaning, and I’ll be shown the more in-depth cleaning on Saturday or Sunday.

So I cleaned it as well as I could and refilled the pellets, and restarted it. As far as I can tell, the basement isn’t on fire. But at this point, I’m too afraid to look!

I HAVE MADE FIRE!
