Book club – 3 books I’d like to reread

Well hello, book nerds!

Just a quick post – these are just 3 of many books that I’d love to reread after I get through my ever expanding TBR shelf. There’s a lot of great books to reread on my shelves. These are only the ones that really jumped out at me.

What’s on your reread shelf?

Until next time, book nerds!

Oh the warmth in your eyes swept me into your arms

It’s cold out. Wicked cold. I think when I pay a visit to the local notary, I’ll drive. Again, it’s cold out.

I really like the picture above, Mal met Lexi for the first time. They were unimpressed.

I think I had a good sleep last night. A little tossy turny, and I tried to burrito again. Even with the bed on 4/5, I think I was still cold.

Coffee is brewing and I’m fully dressed. I’m already cold. It’s not nice, but soon coffee will be really to warm the cockles of my heart.

Big congrats to Tom Brady – 7 rings, and 5th Super Bowl MVPs. At 43. He really is the GOAT.

Lockup Library – general updates

Hey book nerds! This is just a quick note, a “State of the Union” so to speak (so please hold your applause til the end), of what’s going on over here at the Lockup Library.

I’ve been slacking, but reading a lot more, so I have to get back into it. I assume most every book blogger out there schedules posts. They rarely talk about it, but they do. I’m going to talk about some posts that’ll be coming up in the near future.

There’s going to be some fun stuff coming up. I’m excited to share that sometime this week, or next we’re going to have a guest blogger – Crystal from chicky dot blog will be stopping in to talk about crafting with books.

I’m going to be doing a 3 part miniseries of the books I’ve read since last June. I didn’t want to shove all the books I’ve read into one post, so it’ll be a three parter.

I’m going to schedule a couple of Book Club books, that way if there’s any lurkers out there that want to participate, but don’t want to comment, they can still go out and get the books and follow along.

I’m gonna put out a quick list of 3 or 4 books I want to reread, no time frame for the actual rereads, just some books I want to reread.

I still have one book to put up a book haul. The last time I went into BiggerTown, I only got one book. While disappointing, I still walked out with one book.

Then maybe a meme or two.

That’s all for now, keep on reading you beautiful book nerds!

Book club – Plain Bad Heroines

Hey hey book nerds! It’s Sunday, so that means it’s time for another Lockup Library Book Club meeting! It’s been a crazy stressful week, but I’m not complaining, because when it’s stressful, it’s time to relax and read.

This months book is Plain Bad Heroines by Emily M. Danforth.

Ooh staging!

Fun fact: Emily lives and plays in Rhode Island, and the book is at least as far as I’ve read, partly based in RI. It kinda makes me a little homesick, but in a sad smile type of way.

This book has everything! Multiple storylines, multiple timelines, footnotes, Yellowjackets, meta conversations. In other words, this book is right up my alley for sure. The author is even a character (sort of), in the book. She breaks the fourth wall and communicates directly to the reader, in a snarky humorous tone.

There’s two times presented in the book so far – 1904 in Rhode Island, and present day in Hollywood. Three girls at an all girls school in RI die, and in the present day, they are adopting the book about what happened into a movie.

That’s as far as I got so far. It’s a really good read, and the author is doing a fine job of setting the stage. There’s just a lot of characters to try and remember, a fact that the author reminds you to do in a few of the footnotes.

I can’t wait to continue to read this! Until next time, book nerds!

You’re lovely baby, this war is crazy, I won’t let you down oh

Good morning! It’s still chilly freakin cold outside – -39c with the wind, and it’s not supposed to get warmer. I’m pretty sure that he’ll has frozen over, or it’s the day after tomorrow.

So I don’t think that I’ll be leaving the house today. I don’t have any plans that involve being outside, which is a nice thing. I just have to clean, then relight it.

Last night our planned date night had to change a little. Crystal sold the TV, so it was a scramble (in my mind), to figure out what to do. So I upgraded our Netflix, and we found a movie and settled down to watch.

We watched The Trial of the Chicago 7. What. A. Great. Movie. If you haven’t seen it, you should go and watch it. It’s available on US, and Canadian Netflix.

I should be able to take some time to do some reading. If you missed my last (I’ve been slacking) Book Club post, I’m currently reading Plain Bad Heroines by Emily M. Danforth – multiple story lines, multiple timelines, and footnotes, I’m in!

But for now, some coffee, and contemplation before Shady Acres starts to wake up. I love you. Happy Superb Owl Sunday. Go Tampa Bay!
