There’s no fessing or guessing while I’m expressing myself

I slept until my alarm! And it was glorious. Today is the day I go for my first COVID shot. One step closer.

According to the news this morning, a second woman has died from the AstraZeneca shot, just over the border in the next province. That’s two in Canada so far.

That makes me a little nervous, but I need to get this. So I will. I don’t even know if I’m getting the AstraZeneca shot.

Coffee is brewing.

Let’s start the day!

The white dress the guests the cake the car the whole darn thing

Well hello, Tuesday. It’s sunny and chilly here this morning. I was up just a minute or two before my alarm went off this morning. I’m also a little stuffed up this morning. That must mean it’s spring.

The coffee is brewing. And I’m dressed, so that must mean it’s a day that end in y. yesterday was an ok day. I went to SlightlyBiggerTown for some shopping. I made adult budget decisions and didn’t get a few things because I couldn’t afford it. But I did get some yummy stuff for the next week.

I’m really stretching for something to write, which means it was a nice day. I shopped, came home, watched Brooklyn 99 and just tried to relax and just be. It was a nice day I think.

But now it’s time to go back to work. Long week this week, as I work Saturday. But we’ll deal with that when we get to it!

Coffee time!

Book haul – I took my dad to the hospital edition

So after I dropped my dad off at the hospital, I figured I had about 2 hours before I had to be back to pick him up. So I had some time.

First stop – Value Village. I didn’t find anything of note there. Sadly.

Then, after thinking about it, I decided to go to an actual bookstore. The book I actually went in for: If on a Winter’s Night a Traveller is nowhere to be found – I could order it, but any actual bookstore for pick up is two plus hours away, I could get it delivered, but then there’s the little thing of not having an actual credit card. So, I’ll wait for that.

I did find some books though! Not a lot though, because I’m relearning how to be an adult, and adults have budgets. So instead of books, I’m choosing electricity, rent, water, etc.

I did find two!

So after the book store, and the endorphin rush ended, I was parked across the street from the hospital, and waited. I brought a book. I think I made about 20 pages, and my dad was ready to be picked up.

So, the plan was, and will be for next week, that part of the weekend (after work) is to freakin buckle down and read, and hopefully finish Plain Bad Heroines.

Until next time we meet, book nerds!

I’ve been a bad, bad girl

It’s been a whirlwind weekend here. I covered part of a shift at work, then yesterday, I had to drive my dad up to CapitalCity. He thought he had a detached retina, but thankfully, he didn’t. Just a flake of his eye came off, and that’s what he’s seeing. From what he told my mom and and I, there’s no surgery for it, and he’ll have to live with it.

Today, I’ll be heading to SlightlyBiggerTown to do some basic shopping. I don’t need too much, so it shouldn’t take too long.

Right now, I’m waking up, and the coffee is brewing. After I’m finished shopping and get home, I ain’t doing shit. I just want to be able to relax and do nothing. Nothing. I had a long hard week last week, and I was hoping to recover from that. I’m still sore of having a week of moving furniture. So this afternoon. Absolutely nothing.

But right now, coffee and chats with Crystal. Happy Monday.

Gotta have a friend in Jesus

I slept until my alarm went off this morning. I was slightly awake, but I refused to roll over and look at the clock, thinking to myself that the alarm hasn’t gone off yet, and it will go off, so I might as well just sleep until it goes off. So that’s what I did.

Today, is bonding day. I’m taking my dad to CapitalCity. He might have a detached retina. So later this morning, we’ll be heading up to the hospital up there. I’m bringing a book. If they are like the hospital in SlightlyBiggerTown, I’ll be waiting in the truck. After he goes in, I may drive to the mall. It’s about 3km away to get lunch. I would walk, but it’s been raining here all night, so it might be raining there too. I wouldn’t want to risk getting half way to the mall, and it start pouring.

In preparation of this surprise trip, I did my laundry last night. So most of my chores are down. I’ll clean the bathroom, and dust and all that happy stuff. But right now, it’s some news, and some coffee which just finished brewing.

Happy Sunday, y’all!
