you said you’d save a dime a day and build a log cabin

Good morning party people! Of course it’s dark here this morning and I slept in until 7. Then Podrick was being a dink over on Crystal’s side of the bed. So we got up. I turned on lights, the TV, and the coffee pot.

Here we are now. Just awake while most of the town sleeps. But let me tell you this: thank god for autocorrect this morning, my thumbs apparently have no idea what they’re doing this morning. Thankfully, this morning is starting off a lot nicer than yesterday.

The doctor’s office trip yesterday wasn’t so bad. My doctor ordered some blood to be drawn. I get there and the building is completely empty. I can hear some people talking. I stand at the counter for like a couple of minutes then I go and sit down. At 9:30 I’m standing at the counter. Still no one. So I somewhat loudly, so my voice can carry, “hello?”. That’s when the nurse comes out, sounding kinda annoyed and said I have a patient, you gotta wait. I replied with no problem, I just wanted someone to know that I was here. Blood was taken. EKG was administered, and a urine sample was taken as well.

The rest of the day was relaxing, which was nice, as I’m working the next 4 days. But first, coffee. It’s Thursday, y’all.

And can’t you see that breeze

So this is what it feels like to be dead. I have to get blood drawn this morning. So I can’t have any coffee until after 9:15. I do get to have cool, crisp, water. So I’ll make coffee when I get back. And something to eat as well. I couldn’t eat after 9:15 last night.

It’s been very warm the last couple of days. I think we have two more days at Ty freezing point, and then we’re back in the deep freeze. Things have been melting here. It truly doesn’t feel like January. It feels more like March. So we’re in for a rude awakening.

I still have to watch last night NXT. I got home and we just watched funny TikTok’s and YouTube shorts. it was a nice relaxing night after a pretty easy evening at work. I have no idea what happened on last night show, and that’s the great thing about it – I don’t think they do as well!

I don’t know if I have anything else to report. It’s Wednesday, it’s dark, that’s life north of the wall.

‘Cause I’ve been broke down for so long and Lord, it’s gettin’ cold

Another day over, and a new ones just begun. It’s Tuesday, I think. all the days look the same when it’s dark out. But Crystal did mention something yesterday – it’s getting darker in the evenings, just a little later than last week. That’s a good thing.

I never know what to write in the mornings. I mean, who wants to hear about the day of an old guy in a town of 500ish? I mean, the same thing everyday? Nah, no one cares about the day to day. But here we are anyways.

Work wasn’t too bad yesterday. My co-worker is still upset about not being taught how to do certain things, as we already have someone doing them. I just think he has to come to terms with having an assistant manager that’s not him. He won’t leave, even though he’s threatened to just quit if this guy became the assistant manager.

So yeah, that’s what’s going on. I’m currently playing fetch with Podrick to re-direct him from being an asshole on the plant stand/shelf. Fetch, and coffee: the usual for mornings at The Flat.

When she sits down on the sofa, she’ll move a little closer

Good Monday morning my friends. It’s a dark, cold morning out there. I know this because I stood at the door to take the featured image this morning. Podrick even got a lungful of cool, crisp air. He, like me, was not impressed.

Yesterday was a nice and relaxing day. We got up, and I did the laundry while we watch the CBS Sunday morning show. I made brunch, and cleaned up after. Then later on in the afternoon, we headed over to Shady Acres. My dad got a new truck on Saturday, and he was sitting in it when we arrived. I climbed into it, and he was showing me all the options. Then we went in, and I cleaned the stove. After the cleaning, I took my dad’s phone and set up the trucks app, and now he can start the truck with his phone if he wants.

We went home after dinner, and Crystal played some Saints Row 3, for a while. I drew her a bath and she did some self-care Sunday while I watched Modern Marvels. Once out of the tub, we finished the episode I was watching. I put on an episode of Yellowstone. We have one episode left in season 4, and then one season to go.

Back to work this afternoon. I work two days, then I’m off on Wednesday. Then it’s work until next Monday, I believe. I can’t remember my schedule beyond tomorrow right now. So let’s wake up, and greet the day. With coffee, of course. Happy Monday, my friends.

But I reckon heaven’s down there where you are

Happy Sunday everyone. Once again, Crystal took one for the team and kept Podrick somewhat quiet this morning. That means she’s up early, and on guard duty. She made sure I got to sleep in a little, and I love her so much for it.

Yesterday was a busy day. Not as busy as the day before, but we managed to pack a lot into a couple of hours. We took our time walking up, and then a little later, dressed. Then we were off. Stopping quickly at work, to get some fuel, and then we were off to the metropolis of SlightlyBiggerTown for our supplies for the next couple of weeks. We had a shopping list, but I totally forgot to pull it out. So we shopped by vibes. The vibes didn’t really follow the forgotten list, so there’s some things that I’ll be picking up this week from work, and the tiny grocery store.

My parents had a busy day as well. They were up early, and on the road pretty quickly after that. They were driving the 3 hours to another town with an actual really real car dealership. My mom found out the day before while grocery shopping, that my father made an appointment to trade in the Big Dog truck for something a little small that they can easily get in and out of. It too all day, but they made it back by 6, tired, and ready for bed.

So I guess it’s time to start the day. Laundry, and other chores coming up soon. More coffee is a definite, and my new pills have to be ingested soon as well. Might as well start the day while the sun slowly rises. Happy Sunday everyone.
