Staring straight down a forty-four well, he turned and screamed at Linda Lou

Good morning. We’re all up in The Flat. And the coffee is flowing this morning.

In a few hours, I’ll be hesding into work. But for now I have a little while to wake up, drink some coffee, and in a few I’ll be hoping into the shower, cause ya gots to be fresh when stepping into work.

After work yesterday, we drove to SlightlyBiggerTown for some much needed supplies. First stop was the grocery store. It wasn’t busy in there, and we have a list, so we wander up and down each aisle. When Crystal went to the drug store after, I ran to the “general store” to find a cat toy. No joy, so we met back up, and hit the weed store, then Subway. After getting our sandwiches, we were ghost like Swayze, and one our way back to TinyTown.

Working today, and tomorrow. Then Tuesday Wednesday is mine to do all the chores in the world. It’s gonna be fun, I’ll sell tickets.

But first, coffee. Coffee; the giver of energy. Happy Sunday y’all!

What do you, uh, suppose we should do? Well, does he like butter tarts?

Greetings, fellow earthlings. This post is a little late, but here it is. The reason why I didn’t post this morning was because I couldn’t focus my eyes enough, or get my thumbs to work well enough to actually type out anything coherent. So here we are.

Got this yesterday, and was hoping that it was nothing, my parents are in CapitalCity for some medical stuff for my father, so I hoping that this wasn’t someone trying to steal my moms truck while they were wherever they were. Thankfully, my mom just got the wrong button on the key fob. Crisis averted. Although my mom offered us toilet paper, because she got such a great deal on it!

Podrick is busy right now with a soda lid. He’s chasing it all over The Flat. I saved one for when he’s really bothering Crystal or Pippin when I’m not here. But look at him. He’s getting so long. He doesn’t grow like a normal cat. His legs are long and spindly, his paws are huge, and his head isn’t proportional to the rest of his body. He had his back to me stretching for something and I exclaimed, “ he’s all legs and asshole!”. That sums him up pretty much.

This win totally surprised me, and didn’t net me another deck to play with. I know I always say I’m surprised when I win, but I really want paying attention to the ante, of the round. When you skip a lot of the antes, you really lose track of where you actually are in the round. I’m pretty sure I said, “holy shit, I just won!”.

‘Cause they love him in London and Paris and Tokyo America, Scotland and Canada and Mexico, they say “I believe in Joe Hendry

I’m gonna make this brief, as I’m really trying to keep my eyes focused. I had a really good sleep, all the way up to when my alarm went off. If Podrick was doing anything, I didn’t hear shit last night!

It was a very nice and relaxing day. We only did one thing: Balatro. I surprised myself twice yesterday. I won a couple of times unlocking a deck. So I checked out the newest deck, and within 10 minutes, I had beaten it. I was wicked surprised.

So yeah, after the Balatro-fest, we had some really terrific bacon cheeseburgers for dinner. They were cooked perfectly.

Today, working the swing shift. Shouldn’t be too bad. It does feel a little chilly out there this morning, but it’s still early, it’ll warm up.

I’m playin’ my guitar and buildin’ castles in the sun, woh wo woh

The tiny menace let me sleep in a extra hour this morning. That was so nice of him. Although he was a bit of an ass when I got up in the middle of the night. He tried to get into the toilet when I opened the lid, and then he attacked my feet as I walked into the bedroom.

And then I slept.

The bed was perfectly warm this morning. I woke up to the tiny Podrick bouncing all over the bed. So I figured that it was time to haul myself out of bed. Podrick sang for his breakfast this morning, and I think he’s out doing Podrick things. Probably sitting on the back table enjoying the sun. Podrick is growing like a weed. But not the normal way. He’s growing in spurts. His legs are long and spindly. His head is a size too small for his body, and his paws are getting larger and larger.

I have no plans for today. It looks like it’ll be somewhat nice of a day. I haven’t looked at the weather app yet, but we’re still under an air quality alert for the next couple of days. It was pretty hazy last night.

The Beautiful One decided last night that we’ll be having burgers for dinner tonight! That’s very exciting if you ask me. We both love us some burgers. So I’ll cook up some bacon, and fries. We’ll feast.

She could kill you with a wink of her eye

Good morning my friends. I woke up at one point and The Beautiful One was gone out of the bed. She rescued me from Podrick who woke up a couple of hours earlier. He’s starting to slow down a little now. Hopefully, he won’t be like yesterday – full speed all morning, and just as I was leaving, he passed out.

The air quality dropped yesterday afternoon/evening. Slowly but surely the haze and smoke smell slowly started creeping back into the area. That didn’t stop people from coming in. Thankfully for last night and tonight, we have three people in at night. It’ll help because we have another delivery coming in tonight. Just looking quickly out the window, it doesn’t seem like the haze is out there right now.

All that stands between me and a day off, is a simple 8 hour shift. It’ll go very good tonight, I can feel it in my bones. We’ll make the store look good, and get out some drinks when they come in. it’ll also be a good weekend, I open on Saturday, and then I’m working all Sunday. I think it’ll be a pretty good weekend, with possible rain on Sunday, but that’s ok as well.

But it’s a bright and sunny day so far. I can hear the birds are singing out the back door. The kittens are quiet, so I’m really hoping that they’re sharing the back table. Maybe they are. They’ve done it in the past, and as soon as one of us goes to look, Podrick starts something with Pippin.

Update: nope, Pippin is on the fridge, brooding. Podrick is lounging on the back table. thankfully, Pippin has been holding her ground, and standing up to him. They’ll get better and better, and one winter afternoon, one of us will walk into the bedroom, and they’ll be curled up snuggled in the nest.

I hope.
