When I wake up in my makeup, it’s too early for that dress

Hap hap happy Tuesday. I barely heard my alarm this morning. It had been going off for a minute when I thought I heard something, and rolled over.

It’s gray out there, and like I said the snow is starting to stick. At least on the trucks in the driveway. I dislike winter, and I have a love/hate relationship with the snow.

Coffee should be ready to consume now.

And as far as I know there’s no plans for anything here at Shady Acres – I’ll probably pop over to the second hand store when it opens. If it hasn’t gotten any warmer, I’ll take the truck.

Current temp: -3c with the wind it feels like -9. Our high today is -1.

Now I know your heart, I know your mind

Greeting from SlightlyBiggerTown. I had to drop my moms car off for repairs. I told them I was told I’d have a courtesy car, they gave me an Escape. They’ve gotten smaller since I own one. It’s like a small car now, not a tiny SUV.

I get in, see that there’s navigation. I put in the address for Tim Hortons, and punch it in. 1.2 km later, I’m sitting in it, literally across from the dealership. It was hidden by another building.

Now I have some coffee, and now I just have to wait for the truck to have the repairs done. I’ll be checking out places that are hiring.

But first coffee.

For a pocket full of mumbles

Let’s try this again. I’m awake, it’s if you can believe it, bright and cloudy. And cold out there again. The snow had finally stopped. Thankfully, nothing stuck. Hopefully it’ll warm up by noon so I can get out of the house for a few and go for a walk.

I either slept really good, or I tossed and turned all night. I couldn’t tell you. I either had bad dreams or I didn’t. I can’t remember them. Either way I don’t feel rested, and I’m snappy today.

I don’t know what the plan is for today, it seems like everyone here are like ferrets, sleeping for most of the day. My dad will get up for lunch then when Shady Acres goes for a nap, he’ll sleep until 3 or 4. My grandmother was up shortly after me because she has to take a pill. Once a week. She has to make a big deal about this and parade out to get a glass of water, point out obvious things like where the cats are sleeping. Just get water and go do your thing. I don’t need play by play. I’ve been up for 5 minutes I don’t want to talk to anyone.

I wish I was with Crystal.

Happy Sunday everyone!

I’m on a roll and ready to rock

Welcome back, it’s the second week of the Lockup Library Book Club. We’re still reading The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova. I hope everything is going well in your reads

The Historian chapters 21-40

The action is starting to pick up a little. Our main character is with her dad, when she wakes up one morning, looks for her father, but finds a letter addressed to her instead.

I’ve gone to find your mother…”

I was under the assumption that her mother had passed, but I guess I was wrong. So she goes off to find him. and starts her own adventure to find out her past, and the past of her father.

But the regular story from her father continues as well. By now he’s teamed up with a young woman, who says her father is Professor Rossi, the fathers advisor in university.

The mysteries continue in Budapest, and the mysteries get thicker and deeper.

What did you think of these chapters? We’re over half way through the book now. What do you hope will happen?

See you again next week!
