Yours was the first face I saw – I think I was blind before I met you

Good morning party people. I’m awake, my WIFI is being a bitch, and I can’t brain this morning. But that’s ok, I’ll wake up shortly, I always do.

With 48 hours until the election, the Canadian news is pretty much dominated with American election news. I’ll admit, I’m nervous about the outcome. I guess we’ll have a better idea on about 2 days.

Nothing much happened yesterday. Just a quiet day here at Shady Acres. But at least the wind has died down here. I think now, it’s just cold. Yep, just cold out there.

So I’m gonna go and enjoy some coffee, and morning chats with Crystal. Might watch a movie later, I haven’t decided yet.

You bring your knees in tight

It’s the final Saturday that we’ll be talking about The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova.

I finished it last night. I actually stayed up an extra 20 minutes to finish the last 50 or so pages. And lemme tell you, they were page turners!

There’s some writers out there that try and rush the final third of the book, trying to tie up all the loose ends as quickly as possible.

In this book the pace didn’t seem to speed up at all, but I found myself reading faster and faster to find out how it ends.

It doesn’t end with a bang, but kind of ends on a cliff hanger! Just about 1000 pages and it ends on a cliff hanger!

I loved it.

I was working on the lab late one night – when my eyes beheld an eerie sight

Happy Halloween everyone! It’s wicked windy out there today. Gusts of wind up to 90kph

And there’s snow in Rhode Island.

That’s a bunch of bullshit, man.

I don’t think I’ll be going anywhere today. It’s just so windy out there.

I gotta go and make my coffee. I’m so totally not awake yet. It was a deep sleep, but still tossy and turny. Weird dreams of moving to California and trying to figure out times to talk to Crystal. It was so strange.

Last night, I stayed up 20 minutes later than normal to finish The Historian. Wow. I’ll try to write about it this afternoon. It was good. I still have to figure out how to talk about books, without feeling like I’m spoiling the endings.

But the prettiest sight to see is the holly that will be on your own front door*

Weird dreams last night. Stephen King only write his first 3 or 4 books, and was just a small time short story writer. No one had heard of him. I had a book of his short stories, with like half of them missing. Crystal had written in some from memory, and that prompted me to find him, and show him all the stories that he had missed over the years. Of course Crystal saved the day with her total recall memory.

Because of these dreams, I think I’ll be pushing Brave New World back a month, and read one of Kings books of short stories. Sorry everyone that voted for Brave New World, my subconscious beats y’all out for a month.

Then there was a short dream of Puerto Rican Jesuits – a story that King was working on. Also me trying to explain The Stand to him.

It’s almost Halloween though which is pretty awesome. The only unawesome thing? On both Netflix and Amazon Prime, no Rocky Horror. On Prime, I could rent it. Just another day, until Crystal gets here.

Are Puerto Rican Jesuits even a thing? I’m not really sure.

Weird, weird dreams. I can’t believe I can still remember them.

* blog title just for Crystal. Happy Friyay babes. Sorry about the snow that’s been forecasted. If it makes you feel better you and Stephen King got a long really well.

So come on baby, come on over – let me be the one to hold you.

You can tell it’s getting closer to Halloween, the fog is starting to creep in. It’s very foggy out. Hopefully, it’s not a killer fog.

Slept ok. At one point too hot. At another point way too cold. Then at another point, just right. Sometimes tossy, sometimes turny. But it was a pretty good sleep over all.

Got my flu shot yesterday. My arm hurts, it’ll probably fall off later. I hope it doesn’t. But, i can’t promise anything.

I never know how to end these. Lol. It always seems so abrupt. So today, I’ll just say only a couple more days, you can make it. I love you lots.
