Turn on your receiver – there’s a message coming through

TGIF am I right? Holla!

I took the blame, because it was my fault. I forgot to advertise that we were once again open until 8. In my defence, it was a crazy morning, and I totally forgot about it until 5 l, when I was going for dinner. It was steady, but not busy like last week. That’s ok.

One more day. One more day, and it’s the weekend. We can make it! I know we can! Nose to the grindstone. Put your back in to it. Etc, etc.

This is some damn fine coffee.

Oh! I have to say I’m a little disappointed and relieved that I can’t find A Recipe for Seduction on TV. I kind of want to see it, but part of me is pretty scared to see it.

So New Girl at work decided we needed to be “introduced” on the companies Facebook. There was a tease, and then reveal. Since it was her idea, she of course went first. Then had to chase me down to get my picture. Here’s my teaser picture. It was my idea to have the book, and have it upside down. What can I say, I’m quirky.

Good morning my lovelies. I trust everyone is doing ok this morning. So it rained all afternoon, and then it snowed last night. I’m sure the roads are going to be deadly. Thankfully, I walk to work. I just have to worry about busting my ass!

Excuse me for a moment. I need some coffee.

Two more days of work. And i think the accountant will be in today, because it’s time for her to do payroll! Time simply flies when you’re having fun.

But it’s gonna be a good day today. Wait shit. It’s Thursday, right? We’re open until 8 tonight. The last shop til you drop is tonight. Long day, but it’ll be a good pay check.

5 more bookish questions

Just scrolling around in the discover feature in the WordPress app, I can usually cobble some pretty interesting questions. Usually enough to fill a post up.

What’s your comfort book?

It’s been a long time, but I remember really enjoying Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. It’s a story as old as time. Married woman travels back in time, falls in love with a red-haired virgin Scotsman (who by the way can do or build anything). Marries him, travels back to her own time pregnant with the Scotsman’s baby. You know, the usual. It’s well done, and has a great attention to detail. I haven’t read it in such a long time.

What’s the book you love so much you want to be buried with it?

That is so easy to answer. House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski. It’s simply my favourite book. It’s 100% immersive, and always keeps my attention.

What’s a book that makes you feel warm inside?

Raw Shark Texts by Steven Hall. I loved the ending. I definitely smiled when I put the book down. Was it a happy ending, or did the character get what he wanted. I think so.

What’s a winter themed novel that you’ve read previously?

The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe by CS Lewis. I’ll admit, the only book that I have read from the series is this one. But I remember really enjoying it. I have the whole series here, in one book, one day I’ll read it.

What’s a book with the best plot twist?

Another easy question. I knew the answer without even thinking about it. A Storm of Swords by George RR Martin. Anyone who’s read this can tell you the exact place they were when they read Catelyn’s chapter. I’m talking about The Red Wedding. I threw my book when I read it. Went and got it and read it again. I hadn’t seen it coming. Crystal laughed at me

Would you look at this. A book post, and I never even mentioned Twilight. Are you proud of me? I’m proud of me.

Hump day. The day of humps. What more can be said about hump day? It’s the middle of the week. It means only a couple more days this week. I passed right out last night, hugging my body pillow. I don’t think I moved too much last night. I found a position and stayed in it.

Yesterday was pretty ok. I like it when the boss is gone on Tuesdays. Not as intense as if she was right there. New girl felt a little overwhelmed when we got off the phone with the boss, but hit her stride pretty quickly.

But today is a new day, and I think will be a kick ass day! It’s gonna be a day of kicking ass, and taking names! Booyah!

More coffee please!

Come a little bit closer baby – get it on, get it on

Good morning party people! I’m told it’s Tuesday today. All I know is my coffee can’t brew fast enough today. Not that I had a bad sleep. Not at all. I closed my eyes, and the next thing I know, the alarm is going off.

But it’s back to work today. It’s my short week. No Saturday this week, but the late Thursday. In the grand scheme of things, it’s all good in the hood.

It’s totally dark now when I get up. And it’s been mild. But I know that’s going to change. In fact, after a nice week of positive temps, I believe that this is the last ‘warmish‘ day, and it drops back into the negatives.

Time to enjoy my coffee. Happy Tuesday my compadres.
