Somebody pour me a drink, somebody bum me a smoke I’m ’bout to get on a buzz, I’m ’bout to get on a roll

I was up early this morning. Not as early as opening shifts, like next week, but I was still up early. I had to be into work for 7 am to work on inventory. It’s so much nicer than a big box store. BossLady scanned the entire back room in about an hour or so, and we closed today to get the sales floor portion done.

We both got there at 7, and started to scan. Crystal lent me her wireless ear phones, and I found a Midsomer Murders podcast to listen to. I think I made it through the first 5 and a half episodes. I was half listening, as I was counting. At 10:30 ish the office manager came down and said everything that we had scanned over the last 3.5 hours disappeared. So we started over again.

By 12:15 we were working on the discrepancy reports, so BossLady and I left as our schedule said we only worked til 12. I’m at home and the chores have started.

Yesterday, I watched the final episode of The Grand Tour, aptly titled One for the Road. What a show. For 22 years these guys have entertained me with their antics. I don’t know a lot about cars, but these guys made it fun and interesting.

I’ll admit that I was crying when they go to their final destination. It was from their very first special 17 years ago. They did some amazing editing intercutting footage from that special into this one. Finally, at the end, Clarkson simply unplugged his microphone. Fade to black.

Wow.

I’m sure that I’ll tear up yet again, when I play it for my dad, probably next weekend. I don’t think that I’ll be ready for it. It might be too soon. But we’ll watch it together. We’ve watched every special together. So it’s only fitting.
