All of your straight light eyes – wide on my plastic toys

Aww yiss, son. We’re going to a wedding! And you know it’s gonna be a good one because the grooms “parents” are loaded. I mean they drive Volvo’s. Safety costs a pretty penny. Look at their fancy invitations. Who does that? Don’t people just send out e-invites now?

Ain’t they all fancy with their expensive cardboard and typed words and stuff. you can tell they’re rich; Edward has lime 15 middle names, and back when he was actually breathing, you had to pay individually for each name.

But seriously, I sat down and watched The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1. I found out Friday, that Netflix Canada will be taking Twilight away at the end of November. And since I’m just about finished watching the SAGA, I figured that I’d better get going, and finish the series.

We jump right into the action of Alice planning a wedding. The wedding. Bella and Edward’s wedding. I think all of Forks is invited. Even wet dog Jacob is invited, but he’s being all emo and angsty up in northern Canada.

Blah blah wedding.

Red wedding.

Sadly that’s not how the wedding actually happened, but if you look really hard when icky human Bella is walking down the aisle, you can see Stephanie Meyer standing right there in front.

Thinking about it, wouldn’t it be cool to be involved with a movie based on the book you wrote? I think it would be.

Don’t mind me. Just getting some feelings. I’ll be ok. Talk amongst yourselves. All of these movies give me the feels for some reason. It’s a happy/sad feeling. Sometimes more happy than sad, sometimes the other way around. Sometimes just loneliness.

Can’t wait for the finale. Part 2 coming soon.

I don’t think I need to review the rest of the movie, y’all have seen it. Cliff hanger at the end. Spoiler alert: she needs Visine.

I miss you so very much. All the time. Every minute of every day.

I’ve been locked in your heart-shaped box for weeks

Ok, time for the next book in the Lockup Library Book Club. As I mentioned in a post last week, I had a dream where Stephen Ling was just a small time writer, that no one had heard of. So this prompted me to push a book back, and read one of his.

The book I’ve chosen for the next couple of weeks is Full Dark, No Stars. It’s a collection of four short stories – but with a bonus story at the very end, so I guess technically there’s five stories.

So, a time frame. I’m thinking a story a week, again meeting on Saturday’s. But they are short stories, so we’ll have to play it by ear. This could be a book we finish in two weeks.

It’s an adventure for sure!

If you have it, awesome. If you want to go out and get it, go for it! We start the first story 1922, tonight.

Happy reading!

Yours was the first face I saw – I think I was blind before I met you

Good morning party people. I’m awake, my WIFI is being a bitch, and I can’t brain this morning. But that’s ok, I’ll wake up shortly, I always do.

With 48 hours until the election, the Canadian news is pretty much dominated with American election news. I’ll admit, I’m nervous about the outcome. I guess we’ll have a better idea on about 2 days.

Nothing much happened yesterday. Just a quiet day here at Shady Acres. But at least the wind has died down here. I think now, it’s just cold. Yep, just cold out there.

So I’m gonna go and enjoy some coffee, and morning chats with Crystal. Might watch a movie later, I haven’t decided yet.

You bring your knees in tight

It’s the final Saturday that we’ll be talking about The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova.

I finished it last night. I actually stayed up an extra 20 minutes to finish the last 50 or so pages. And lemme tell you, they were page turners!

There’s some writers out there that try and rush the final third of the book, trying to tie up all the loose ends as quickly as possible.

In this book the pace didn’t seem to speed up at all, but I found myself reading faster and faster to find out how it ends.

It doesn’t end with a bang, but kind of ends on a cliff hanger! Just about 1000 pages and it ends on a cliff hanger!

I loved it.

I was working on the lab late one night – when my eyes beheld an eerie sight

Happy Halloween everyone! It’s wicked windy out there today. Gusts of wind up to 90kph

And there’s snow in Rhode Island.

That’s a bunch of bullshit, man.

I don’t think I’ll be going anywhere today. It’s just so windy out there.

I gotta go and make my coffee. I’m so totally not awake yet. It was a deep sleep, but still tossy and turny. Weird dreams of moving to California and trying to figure out times to talk to Crystal. It was so strange.

Last night, I stayed up 20 minutes later than normal to finish The Historian. Wow. I’ll try to write about it this afternoon. It was good. I still have to figure out how to talk about books, without feeling like I’m spoiling the endings.
