Throw your love around – love me, love me

Good morning party people. It’s Wednesday and it’s time to get up and greet the day. Coffee is brewing, and I’ll need it. I was tossy and turny all night. And to cap it all off at 12:35 my brain said ok, you have anxiety about your new job, here let’s throw police coming to the door to really mess with you. Up, wide awake for about 5 minutes. Then it was just weird dreams all night. Until the last dream of the night:

I was living in an apartment. The whole place was having a party, complete with Chinese food. I knew some of the people. It was a mix of people from Wyatt, and from when I was in cadets. I snuck away to the “common library” and found Crystal a coffee mug, and a copy – hardcover of Breaking Dawn Pt. 1. I didn’t even know that they split up the book like they did the movies. Who knows if they actually did in real life.

Yesterday just as I get to work, my phone rings. I don’t recognize the number but I answer it anyways. It’s one of the ladies from the second hand store asking if i can help unload their trailer. I tell her no I can’t, because I got a job and I’m at work. She sounded really annoyed that I couldn’t come. I apologized, and hung up. They had 5 months to ask for help. It’s just my luck that they finally call on my second week of work.

Anyways, happy Wednesday. May you day be full of caffeine, laughs, and a considerable lack of idiots.

I feel it in my fingers – I feel it in my toes

I woke up 1 minute before my alarm, and thought to myself, nice, I still got a half hour.

Narrator: he did not have a half hour.

Yesterday I told my mom that the bank of Canada will be removing Legal Tender status on the larger bills. Large bills like the $500 and $1000. She’s like this one? As she shows me a $1000 bill.

It is pretty impressive, to say the least.

I don’t think I have anything else to talk about this morning. I’m still mostly asleep. Happy Tuesday y’all!

Books books, books (sung to the tune of Girls girls, girls)

So today, with moms approval, I was allowed to move the “Romance Rack” – consisting of at least 80-90% of Nora Roberts complete library out of my room, and back into the living room, where they came from.

The Romance Rack with all the dust catchers on it.

I waited until my mom and grandmother left for a hair appointment, then moved the bookcase out, and through multiple trips? Brought all the bodice rippers out.

So then, I had to move my bookcase over a bit. You see the chunks of wood there? I cut those, with no adult supervision! It only took a few seconds to figure out how to turn on the table saw. I need them there because when I moved moms bookcase, my books fell to the floor.

Wood paneling AND that carpet. Hello 1972!

Shady Acres is taking a nap. Then we’re off to SlightlyBiggerTown, and I think this’ll be the first week in a long time that I won’t look for books. For two reasons:

1. I’m out of money.

2. I’m out of room on the bookcase.

This will be the week that at least 1 of the books on my want list will be there, and someone else will pick it up. I just know it.

Book Review: Night Film

First let me start off by thanking Crystal for making this awesome new graphic for my book reviews. It looks simply amazing.

I got away from reviewing the books that were sent to me when I was away. And looking at my list, i only had two left. So I figured, let’s get em done.

This is my review of Night Film by Marisha Pessl. (Who by the way, seems to have disappeared. She hasn’t posted anything in about 2 years. Just dropped off the radar.)

First off, this book is like nothing I’ve ever seen before. There’s multimedia in the pages of this book. It’s hard to explain. One moment you’re simply reading a book, the next, you’re reading a magazine or even a webpage. It’s incredible.

It’s a massive book, over 600 pages. The storyline is this; Ashley Cordova, daughter of famous horror filmmaker, Stanislas Cordova, commits suicide. Believing that he was involved in her death, Scott McGrath teams up with Nora and Hopper to figure out what happened, and who was actually involved.

I really enjoyed this book. I started reading it inside, but then suddenly, Canada! I think I finished it one night while in quarantine in Montreal. I really have to revisit this book sometime in the future, because I really wanted to enjoy the ending, but it felt a little long.

All in all, I really liked this book, and would recommend it to others that enjoy mystery/thrillers.

I hear her voice in the morning hour – she calls to me

Good sleep. Wake up to a different coffee pot. Couldn’t get it to work for 20 minutes. Why doesn’t it just have a frigging on/off button? It has 2 sliders, and 3 buttons. I shouldn’t need a PhD to turned the damned thing on.

Excuse me I need to get some coffee.

I think I remember having weird dreams. Not weird bad, but I do remember at one point in my dreams thinking I should remember this to tell Crystal later. But alas, earwax, I can’t remember them at all.

Today, I have a couple things to do, I gotta relocate the “Romance Rack” – the Nora Roberts bookcase back to its rightful place in the living room. Then we’re gonna head to SlightlyBiggerTown for some basic groceries.

Happy Monday y’all
