Mamas don’t let your babies grow up to be cowboys

Shawshank, October 31, 2026

It’s another cold morning out there. I can feel it. The heat just turned on, and Podrick’s tail is wagging like a golden retriever’s. The whole house is up now. Crystal is making the kitties their breakfasts, and the coffee is brewing.

It was a busy day yesterday. I was up and out of the house by 9am. First stop; Shady Acres to get a couple of pieces of paperwork figured out. Then it was off to the insurance to take care of prepping a vehicle to sell, and to pay my monthly registration bill. When I got home, we showered, and then I started to prep for breakfast. As I working on breakfast, I figured it was time to work on the iPad.

After about 30 minutes, we had the iPad mostly up and running. And since I can’t spell Crystal’s email, even after 20+ years – we finally got up and running. I took it to work to do the final 18-gig update. Looking back on it now, it actually didn’t take that long. I downloaded a couple of apps, and then closed it up.

I got one last shift, then a day off. It’s a weird week next week. I open, and I’m mid-shift a lot of the week. It’ll be a change for the week. I don’t mind the early shifts, it’s the getting up early.

But tonight – Halloween night. After work, we have two shows to watch: NXT’s Halloween Havoc, and Rocky Horror Picture Show. We’ll have to turn on the old PS2, and put the DVD in. It’s been a few years since watching it last.

I can’t wait.

Back at it again, on a gray Thursday morning. The Beautiful One is making the kitties their breakfast. Once that’s on the ground, I’ll make the coffee. Podrick eats on the floor, Pippin eats in her private dining room (bedroom). Coffee has been made. The bots love me. They come…

Well, it finally stopped snowing. We woke up and it was snowing? It’s snowed all day. With just a couple of breaks through out the day, it’s pretty much snowed until I got home from work last night. It snowed more than they expected. According to the weather app, it…
