Held a bird’s egg between her breasts

Happy hump day y’all! It’s been a week today hasn’t it, nudge nudge, wink wink. Say no more! A nudge is as good as a wink to a blind bat, yanno. It’s a bright and sunny, but a slightly windy morning here in TinyTown. The guy across the street is using an angle grinder to chop up some metal. Me, on my second cup of coffee. Shady Acres is slowly starting to wake up.

Nothing much going on here today. I thinking I’m helping my mom bake some bread. Tomorrow we have to go into BiggerTown, to helps grandmother deal with her hearing aids, and pick up a few things at Walmart. Me? I’m thinking about lunch in BiggerTown. I’ve been craving something. But I don’t know what it is. I just want ….. something, ya know?

I can’t wait until they open the border. I miss my wife. I miss everything about her, and I want to get started here. Another week or two and I should be getting started talents on getting some ID. Can’t wait. But for now, holding pattern.

She want that cake, cake, cake, cake, cake, cake, cake, cake, cake, cake

So finally. Sunday. SUNDAY! Bake day. I've been waiting for this day for like a week and a half. I'm making The Editor's secret family recipe: Pumpkin Chocolate chip Cake. It's actually in the oven right now.

Slight deviation from the recipe. The chocolate chips melted in the heat on the way home from the grocery store, so I had to chop them a little bit. I think it'll taste a little better as a lot more of the chocolate will melt as some of its chopped smaller than regular size chips. I've already been told I'll probably be makin another one closer to the holidays, as my mom makes a basket for dads boss.

The usual suspects of the cake. It calls for 14-15oz of pumpkin but I put a little more in mostly by mistake. That's ok, there was one time that I put a whole large can of pumpkin in, and it turned out just fine. Yes, I pull out all the ingredients, and put them all in order before starting, and as I use them, I put them away. I'm a baking nerd like that.

I'm used to a KitchenAid mixer, Andy moms is broken, but she has this kick ass mixer, which is just as good as the KitchenAid, in my opinion. I had to have mom show me how to assemble it. So of course, I got momsplained on the 3 different speeds, and the pulse function.

Like the KitchenAid, this mixed up very fast. So I added the chocolate chips and mixed for approximately 4.231 seconds and it was ready to be put in the bundt pan. At this point I had to sample my work. It tastes really good. Gave a small spoon of it to my mom, she really likes it. My grandmother cleaned the beaters off.

So it has another 30 minutes, then a few hours of cooling before we can eat it. I can't wait to try it. I can't wait for everyone else to try it for the first time. I just wish The Editor was here to have helped me bake it, and to have a slice with some squirty cream. But that'll happen soon enough, and it's gonna be grand!

And now the waiting starts. It has to cool for 15 minutes in the pan, then another 2 hours on the rack. Smells so good and it's cooked all the way through. That's a good thing for sure! Both me and The Editor want to tuck into it right now. With or without the squirty cream. But alas, (earwax) it would be way too hot, and against the instructions.

Book Shaka Laka. Complete. This thing of beauty is on its final cooling. My work here is done 😀

His tiny knotted heart

Well welcome to Saturday. We made it. It's supposed to be a nice sunny and somewhat hot day here in TinyTown. I don't know what's going on today. I'm either going to be helping make some jam, or going into town. It hasn't been decided yet.

Right now, it doesn't matter, as I'm drinking coffee. Shady Acres is all awake, dads working all weekend out of town, so it'll be a little low key here this weekend. Well, so far it's been pretty busy. I just made 10 jars strawberry jam. Not very hard at all. Just a bit of prep, stirring, and waiting for it to boil. I got the family secret 'Slappy' recipe, and we'll probably make that tomorrow.

10 happy little jars of strawberry jam. Literally only took maybe 20 minutes. So hopefully they taste good. Now, we're on our way to another town to pick up some groceries, and some meds for my grandmother. A 1/2 hour jaunt into town.

Hayyyy

Twelve men broke loose in ’73

So last night, I said good night to The Editor, watched the end of ‘Chopped’, and figured ok, let’s go read a page or two, and go to bed. Wishful thinking.

I read maybe 4 pages, and my mind said “hey dipshit, you should clean”. And clean I did. I organized my books as you can see there, put all my papers in my trusty ole Manila envelope, and then I thought that I was finished. Nope.

I then figured that I should finally build the LEGO set she sent with all my clothes. I thinking I got it out together correctly it just looks off a little. But it’s right next to me. Finally my brain said you’re done. I pretty much got changed, went to the bathroom, and went to sleep. 11pm. I fell right asleep.
