Pay your toll, sell your soul pound for pound costs more than gold

Hello. It’s been a long day, but the work day is over. I worked last night until 9. Got home around 9:20, and 40 minutes later I was getting into bed. I had a little bit of trouble falling asleep. Then the alarm went off at 4:30. Work.

I get to work, and start the opening procedures. I only made 2 mistakes. I copied down the wrong set of numbers. I was close though, and I’m learning! So opening is finished and we’re ready to work. BossLady says “oh, I have something for you.” Spoiler alert, it wasn’t a day off with pay.

Ugh, keys to the store. It’s almost official.

Yesterday was a coworkers last day. After she left, and the other second shift guy came in, he went in the the break room, and wrote this on the whiteboard:

Good times.

Perogies for dinner tonight. That means bacon.

Bacon.

And I’ve only just realised that I’m actually so far out your league

Finally, it’s motherfucking Friyay! It’s been a hella long week for me. Up wicked early all week. I get a bit of a reprieve next week, as I’m closing for two days, and then three opening shifts. Not the greatest, but it could be worse.

You see, a coworker quit only giving 1 weeks notice, so with all the schedules being changed, my manager decided that this week was the week that I get trained on how to open, and to be a key holder. Today was the day that I opened the store under basic supervision. I managed to get the store open, with only one mistake.

That’s a good thing.

But the day was wicked slow. Like our first customer came in at 7:17. Just about an hour and half after we opened. It stayed slow like that until about 1. Course it was really really foggy out there. It’s just started to lift about an hour ago. But it’s still windy out there.

I can’t wait to sleep in tomorrow.

I’m so tired.

I’ll be ok? Because today is date night. I’m trying to decide between breakfast for dinner, or wings. I’ll have to figure it out before we get there. I’m thinking wings. I’m kinda craving something spicy.

Let’s start a war, start a nuclear war

Good afternoon! Yep, I’ve been posting a little later in the day, because all this week, I have opening shifts – up at 4:30 and out of the store by 1:45. Today was no different. I think I like the morning shifts over the closing shifts, which are 1:15-9. That kinda sucks but what can you do? I’m at the mercy of the schedule. It’s all good though. I work with some pretty cool people. They’re all younger than me, but I’m of that age that most people that I’d be working with are younger.

It’s been warm here. Strangely warm. The streets are like huge puddles, and the snow is melting rapidly. It feels and smells like spring out there. We’re gonna get our asses kicked, because I’m predicting at least one more cold snap, and at least one more really good snowfall/blizzard. We usually get one end of March or into April. Winter is coming. Mark me. Mark. Me.

But other than that, things haven’t changed too much around here. Just working, and what feels like just sleeping. I came home today with a fresh loaf of Italian bread, and told Crystal that I had an idea for dinner: her, me, the loaf of bread, and butter. She asked what I wanted with it, and I simply said “um, the butter.” I don’t think she was too impressed.

Is three paragraphs enough for the day? Hmm I don’t know. There’s a lot of images to this post because the WordPress/Jetpack app is a piece of shit, and isn’t featuring my featured image at the top of the post in the app itself. So I find that I have to add an image to the post so it actually stands out a little.

But, I digress.

Have a safe and super sparkly day!

You give me a reason to live

Here we are, back again for another post. Yep, I could’ve posted this morning, but at 4:30, I couldn’t string two words together if I tried, so I fired that it would be better to post this afternoon when I got back from work.

Work was actually busy this morning. Not with customers, mind you, but with moving stuff around. BossLady had talked to a vendor yesterday, and either today or tomorrow, there will be a couple of racks, and a cooler being delivered to us. We did the prep work this morning, so it should be an easier time when they arrive.

And we have a cooler in the break room again. And of course, that had to be all moved around. Much to our enjoyment when the closers came in, and were very confused.

We laughed at them.

But now I’m at home watching Crystal play Divinity 2. It’s a fun game, I just can’t wrap my head around the angle that that camera is. And you can’t move the camera angle to make it actually better.

But I digress.

We’re either going to have hamburgers or chicken burgers tonight. I think I’m leaning toward buffalo chicken bacon burgers. But we’ll see what the beautiful one would like.

Everything’s all right, I’ll just say good night and I’ll show myself to the door

Hey hey everyone. I’m back home from work. As soon as I stepped out, I got a headache. Hard one. So as soon as I got home, I took something. Here’s to hoping it goes away soon.

Work wasn’t too bad. A little slow, but we did some cleaning, and took down a couple of end caps. Yay for organization. The old people that come in will be confused for a little while.

They’ll get used to it.

The wind was back this morning, along with some snow. There’s a dusting out there, I’ll take care of it the next time I go out. I shovelled a couple of times outside at work, just for something to do – besides, I kinda have to do it. You know, for safety and all that.

I don’t have too much left to talk about, I’m sleepy, my head hurts, and I just want to relax. Maybe something interesting will happen tomorrow, and then I’ll have something to talk about. I hope y’all are having a good Tuesday so far.
