Hate to give the satisfaction, asking how you’re doing now

I’m feeling pretty groggy this morning. I think I had a good sleep. I passed out pretty quickly last night. I don’t think I moved too much until about 5, when I had to get up and go to the bathroom. I climbed back into bed, and then suddenly, the alarm went off.

Yesterday wasn’t actually too bad. I got into work for 7am. We started counting, and pretty much by about 10-10:30, the main part of the counting done. Around 11, we broke for a quick lunch. After the lunch, we started the discrepancy report, and that went rather quickly. I left shortly after that. Not a bad day at all. Probably the easiest day at work. I got to tell customers to leave, and or get out of the store. It’s always a good day when you can tell the people coming in, that no, you can’t actually buy anything today.

I came home and played some No Man’s Sky while Crystal snuggled with Chaucer, and napped while I did some boring “office work”. If I can, I’ll post about it today. It was pretty good. I didn’t have the brain power to actually do other things. I cleaned out my inventory and moved all sorts of stuff around.

Today will be a nice day. Since I had to work yesterday, all the chores will be taken care of this morning. Also! We’ll be having brunch today! Woot, brunch! Other than brunch, there’s not too many plans today. Possibly a nap. A nap would be pretty nice.

It’s slowly starting to warm up here. You see the problem isn’t that it’s warming up, is that it’s too early for it to be warming up. There’s at least one more cold snap out there for us, and one, maybe 2 good snow falls that hasn’t happened yet.

But I’ll take this nice weather for as long as it’s with us. Warm weather in January is a nice thing.

Back to work again tomorrow. It’s a week of opening shifts. That means up early, but also home early. That’s the way I’m thinking of it. Happy Monday everyone.

I never miss a beat I’m lightnin’ on my feet

Just a quick note today. I just got back from the whirl wind inventory at work. It went pretty quickly. We started at 7, and were finished the main count by 10:30. Then around 10:50ish we had our lunch. After lunch we started on the discrepancy report. Finished that about 16 minutes ago.

Home again.

Now I’m gonna play some No Man’s Sky until it’s time to start the wings for dinner.

Tomorrow I’m off, and that’ll be chore day. Yay chores!

Happy Sunday everyone!

Those fishing lures thrown in the cold and clean

The call of the alarm clock was loud and clear this morning. It didn’t need to be. I was up around five, and got up to go to the bathroom. I came back in and fell back asleep. It was a light slightly tossy turny. It was a light sleep for the last two hours.

And now, here we are. Coffee in hand.

It wasn’t a bad sleep, mind you. Just too short, and of course the waking up early, only to wake up a couple hours later.

We have stuff to do this morning. I figure around 10, we’ll get up and make our way to SlightlyBiggerTown for some groceries, lunch, and anything else we need. I actually have a list. Hopefully, I won’t forget it like the last couple of weeks.

Date night was good. As usual we got there at just the right time. We placed our order, and within minutes two more tables filled up, and suddenly there was orders for about 5 pounds of wings. The food was, like always, very good. We ate, and then came home.

Just a typical Friyay afternoon.

Back to work tomorrow morning. The store is closed, but just about all of us will be there, for inventory. Not going over to Shady Acres this weekend, my dad is still sickly, and my mom is very stressed about that. My dad turns into a huge baby when sick. I’d rather not go over. So we’re not.

Chores and brunch on Monday, I might do a load of sweaters this afternoon after our outing.

She just yanked up on the emergency brake, dropped her seat back, and told me to lie on top of her

Good morning all you party people! It’s Friyay! All that stands between me and a partial weekend is just one shift today. Sunday I have inventory. First inventory at the new job. Hopefully it’ll go quicker than the previous job. We should be done about 2-3 pm on Sunday.

Yesterday was a pretty good day. Slightly busy, but not really. That gave us time to clean a little bit. I asked my coworker, which I have to nickname them all so y’all have some idea who I’m talking about – who would you fan cast as yourself if HBO made a tv series about working at work. Maybe Crystal figured out who would be go to play me.

Other than that, it was business as usual. We went through our checklists, and managed to leap out of work on time. Even with a last minute customer. It was my coworkers father, so that was an easy transaction.

Poof, I was home.

And now, here we are. Happy Friyay everyone!

How ’bout the power to kill a yak from 200 yards away… with mind bullets! That’s telekinesis, Kyle.

So the new single dropped sometime in the darkness. Chaucer was so excited that he wanted to do a private concert this morning while slept. The newest verse of his magnum opus was sang, with feeling.

It’s a banger, it’s 🔥

It was loud. I cut him off as soon as I started to hear it. I called him back to the bedroom, and like that, the music stopped, and I was able to fall back asleep. Chaucer was proud because, he got to debut a new track. He’s sitting all snug on the pirate chest now. Shunning us.

As I was getting ready I got the text that my mom was taking my dad back to the hospital. I’m a baby when I’m sick, but my dad takes it to a whole ‘nother level. It’s amazing. He gets sick or a little hurt, and really just shuts down. My mom is starting to get really pissed. So this morning, before work, I have to head up to Shady Acres to clean their pellet stove, because my dad apparently can’t clean a little stove – he’s too sick.

So I’ll pop up and clean it, and then take off for work. Not exactly what I’d like to do, but I’ll go over and help them out, they’ve helped me out so much, it’s the least I can do.

Work wasn’t too bad, steady up to a point. Once it the sun went down the customers dropped off. That’s ok, it gave us a chance to clean up and prep for the next day. I changed out some rugs, and mopped a couple of times. It was a pretty good evening.

And I get to do it all over again tonight! Noice!
