Oh, well hello there, my friends. When did you get here? The Flat is officially awake. I’ve been up since around 6:30ish, and Crystal suspects that she’s been up since around 5:30. It wasn’t my fault this time. Chaucer was snuggled up very close to her. And he’s like a tiny furry easy bake oven.

So we were up at the normal time yesterday to be ready to leave around 10 to drive out to the farm with my dad to repair the heater core, or blower. Whatever. Ha! I got a text about 9:30 saying that he was going to take his work truck out so we could follow. We pulled up to the corner just as he was getting there.

We made it out to the farm and pulled into the garage. Immediately he got to work. I was wearing an old hoodie expecting to help, but as we saw it truly was a one person job. In about 20 minutes he was done. The windshield wash was dethawed and emptied out. The Hot Mess Express has warm silent heat again!

At that point only about an hour had passed, so I asked what Crystal is most afraid about – do you want to go for a drive? I could see her internally screaming! So we drove to a new SlightlyBiggerTown. We grabbed some bread, liverwurst, and a few other things, brought it home, and….

Had the yummiest lunch that we’ve had in a couple of years.

But today is Sunday. Fun day. Chore day. I’ll be starting those in about an hour. But first I have to disturb the tiny cat that’s asleep on my lap. I need more coffee.

Welcome, welcome to Saturday! Both of us were up early, Crystal way longer than me. Finally after me one finger snuggling her, she got up and out of bed. I think I made it another few minutes, then I rolled out of bed with the weirdest song stuck in my head.

See, I told ya, weird.

But we’re both up now, with some coffee beside us. I fed the animals, and Chaucer is staring at us. He wants to get on the couch between us. He’s an old man, so he moves slowly, deliberately. He’s a good man.

Not too much planned for today. Later, we’ll go to SlightlyBiggerTown for some fun and games. And maybe lunch. We’ll check out the second hand store. That’ll be the highlight of the day. We both like second hand stores.

Time to greet the day!

Pippin got me up a little early this morning. She was using her tiny little claws on my milky white skin. I think she was just trying to get comfortable, but her little claws hurt.

Up and awake, I made coffee, fed the tiny beast, and got dressed. She’s sitting on my lap, purring away. She’s too cute to be mad at. It’s hard to sleep when it bright and sunny out.

Happy Thursday everyone! The skies have cleared and it’s sunny and calm outside. Supposed to be nice and warm today.

Good morning party people! I’m up a little early today. The family wanted to go on a road trip to CaptialCity. I’m not one to turn down a free lunch, so I’m getting ready to go. I should receive a text around 8am telling me they’re on the way to pick me up.

I got up a little earlier to get some coffee into me, so I can be a functional member of society. It’s all good I’ll probably be in the passenger seat so I’ll be able to take some pictures out of the window.

I got up this morning and it was dark and a little chilly. It should slowly warm up throughout the day, but I don’t think it’ll hit positive temps. That’s ok, the Big Dog truck has heat – the downside of the Big Dog Truck is that the XM radio is tuned to “Willy’s Roadhouse”. Old school country.

Ok let’s get dressed and get some coffee on the inside. Happy Saturday y’all!

Goin’ up to the spirit in the sky (spirit in the sky)

Yep. Up early again. I think I was a little too high last night. I couldn’t calm my thoughts. NewGirl texted the group chat with me and BossLady right before I went to bed. Her mom was in the ER, and she might have to take her to CapitalCity because she’s developing blood clots. She got her COVID shot last week. So that what NewGirl is thinking caused the clots. After that, it was me dreading going to work, because BossLady will be there this morning. After I post this, I’ll text the chat to see if I’m needed to go in. If not, I’ll be walking to the gas station to buy a new charging cord as for some reason mine didn’t want to charge my phone last night. We had a power blip last night/this morning some time, and that seemed to trick my charger into working, and I was in the green this morning. When I unplugged and plugged back in, nothing. So I think and hope it’s just the cord.

But if I have to go in, it’ll be ok as well. I’ll take the hours. Bills are due when I get them, so another shift will definitely help with those. But I was so looking forward to having this Saturday to recover from the absolute hell week of moving furniture from one place to another. I’m sore.

Either way will be fine with me, to be honest. The coffee is finished brewing, and I could ready use the caffeine kick this morning. But I’ll do my normal week day routine, and prepare to go into work in a couple of hours.

Now I don’t want people to think that I’m in a bad mood this morning. Not at all! The sun is shining, and guess what? ITS STILL ABOVE FREEZING! And there’s not a cloud in the sky. It’s a great day, to have a great day. Happy Saturday everyone!!
