Christmas bells those Christmas bells ringing through the land

Good morning my friends. It’s the day before the night before Christmas. Podrick was definitely stirring this morning. I guess he knocked over the box that we have in the bathroom. I’m thinking he has somewhat of an idea what time it is, and he’s lonely. He just wants his humans and his sister to get up and be with him.

I had to restart sleep daddy last night. I was 1000 miles away, so I reset the video I was listening to. I’m pretty sure, on the second go around, I made it to the body scan, and when the started on the crown of the head, I was out like a light. The bed was almost the perfect temperature. Just a little bit warm. Crystal had to get up to make sure Podrick didn’t destroy the apartment.

Also, it’s still dark out. Stupid solstice.

It’s baking day today. that is, if I can get sugar at the tiny grocery store. I think I’m going to do two pumpkin chocolate chip cakes today. One for Christmas and I’ll split one for the two other key holders at work. So once the grocery store is open, I’ll head up there to get the sugar (fingers crossed) and start baking.

But first, coffee.

Tracking update for the Christmas presents:

Giddy-up jingle horse, pick up your feet

It’s morning time here at The Flat. It’s dark out. But the solstice was last night, so technically, the days are slowly starting to get longer again. So we have that going for us.

It’s still dark as night out there. And cold.

Back to work this afternoon for the easiest week possible. I’m only working 3 days this week, but I’ll be getting paid for 4 days. Can’t beat that. I just have to make it through today, Christmas Eve, and then Saturday. But I’ll concentrate on making it through 1 day at a time.

It was a nice day yesterday. I was totally lazy, and since I did the laundry the day before, I neglected to do the rest of my chores. I feel a bit bad. But, I was really nice to do nothing. I did cook brunch, and Crystal’s pancakes turned out amazingly well.

After brunch, when it was time, we headed over to Shady Acres. I hauled in half the wood pellets, and cleaned the stove. On Boxing Day, I’ll head back over, and haul the rest in, and clean the stove, as I’m working the weekend, and won’t be able to clean it on Sunday.

My Christmas package finally updated last night. The bulk of my parent’s gifts, and all of Crystal’s gifts won’t make it for Christmas. I guess they’ll be New Years gifts. I even ordered them with lots of time! The slow down was, as far as I can tell was when they delayed for 10 days when they were “picking” the items. Good times.

So let’s get ready to greet the day. Happy Monday y’all!

They talk Italian to him, and he even understands Cummares and cumpares too, they dance ‘a tarantelle When Sannanicola comes to town, and brings ‘u ciucciarello

It’s dark out.

Up to about 15 minutes ago, it was dark in here as well. But Podrick started to get the itch. The itch to climb all over me. I could tell that was resisting for most of the morning. He went across me twice I believe. His paws hurt. He has no powers of silence or quietly walking around.

But it was around the normal time to get up, so I got out of the almost too warm cocoon of the bed. It was starting to get very warm. Sleep daddy was no longer talk to me, and just playing the background music. So I figured it was time to get up.

So yeah. That was this morning. We didn’t do too much yesterday. I shovelled the side walk, and hit up the tiny grocery store for some bacon for brunch this morning. I stopped at the post office, and picked up my parent’s Christmas present. I’m just waiting for the main package.

They have 1 day to get this shipped to me. The 2 packages have been late. But I guess that’s what happens when it takes the company like 9 days to actually start the picking process. Now that I’ve thought about this for a minute, I’ve already gotten a sorry for the delay $5. This package has everything in it. Crystal’s gifts, secondary gifts for my parents. The wrapping paper for everything.

I have a feeling that it’ll be late. I ordered with lots of time. But we’ll see. Technically, there’s still three days that it can arrive. Hopefully, it makes it here in time.

Time for more coffee. It’s Sunday my dudes.

Here’s to them underneath that burning sun do they know it’s Christmastime at all?

It’s still windy out there.

So I get into work yesterday afternoon. I pull into my usual spot, and realize I won’t be able to get out because of a snow drift. Long story short, I parked under the overhang. The acting manager neglected to tell us that if it gets really bad, we can leave. I found this out by sarcastically texting the general manager the photo above with Merry Christmas. That’s when he told us. We stayed until 15 minutes before closing. We hadn’t had a customer in 2 and a half hours.

Some idiots: (I think they have the thought – “if they’re open, it’s my duty to try and make it there to buy bullshit.”)

  • The old guy that has a portable oxygen unit comes in complaining that you can’t see the highway. Total white out. I ask why he came in then. His answer: rice. The wife is making cabbage rolls.
  • The woman in the sports car that came in for two cream soda dr peppers. 15 minutes later a regular comes in on a snowmobile, saying a sports car is in the ditch. Karma at its finest.
  • High school kids. Because, why not? I get it. You’re bored. But come on y’all literally just got your license. you have no experience driving in white out conditions.

Thankfully pretty much all the regulars came in as they were getting off work. I shovelled a couple of times. I’m not looking forward to digging out here at the flat. Then I quickly have to pop over to the tiny grocery store for bacon for brunch tomorrow.

It’ll be a somewhat busy day off today. Shovelling, bacon, and making pancakes. Crystal will say, nah but we’ll make them. There’s no wrestling on this weekend. The WWE is on Christmas vacation. And all the live shows have aired, and some that were supposed to be live have been filmed and aired.

So let’s ingest some coffee, and wait for the sun to rise. Boom, Shaka Laka! Let’s gooo!

It’s Christmas time in Hollis, Queens Mom’s cookin’ chicken and collard greens

Good Friyay morning my friends. It’s the end of the week. All that separates me and the weekend, is a simple 8 hour shift. It’s cold and blowing outside, and we’re seeing snow fall. However with a twist. The wind is blowing so hard, the snow is falling sideways.

Good times.

It’s forecasted to be windy all day.

Work wasn’t bad yesterday. It was slow at the beginning, but we managed to get through just over 100 customers. We’d have a couple, then nothing. Then a burst of 3 or 4. Then quiet again. It was a nice day. My co-worker said what we were thinking: it gets quiet, and we wish for customers, then they’d come, and we’d be like””OMG, why do they have to come?!”

Tomorrow, we don’t plan on leaving the house. For me, I don’t plan on leaving the property. Since it snowed yesterday, and today. I’ll have to deal with the snow drifts, and shovel out to the road. I don’t mind shovelling, but it’s not my favourite thing to do.

Least I get paid to do it at work. At The Flat, I just do what I’m contractually obligated to do. But that’s a problem for future Shawshank. Future me, most of the time hates past me.

Ich hätte gern noch etwas Kaffee.
