Said, “If you’re gonna play the game, boy you gotta learn to play it right

Morning all. We’ve been given a dusting of snow through the night. Yay snow. I think both kittens were being, well, kittens this morning. I first woke up around 5, with Podrick trying to play with the cables to my alarm clock. Only a couple of times, before I chased him out of the room. Probably minutes later, I just had to pee.

So up again. This time I’m more awake. I think I managed to fall back into a light sleep. But I could hear banging. It was Pippin rubbing on the bricks. Not really loud banging, but just enough to make a sound over my fan, and give me slight anxiety. I found my other sleep mask and turned on another sleepy time talk down. While the voice was annoying, I think it worked. as anxious as I was I think I fell into a really night sleep. I managed to sleep until around 7:30.

Work was pretty slow last night. We went from around 5:30 til about 8, without having a many customers. We cleaned and got a few things done. Finally, it was time to pack it in for the night. My coworker likes to get everything buttoned up before we’ve closed. Of course, if someone comes in, he has to redo some of the paperwork. That’s what happened last night. With 3 minutes to go, someone came in, and paid with cash. That meant that he had to redo the cash paperwork, and the deposit.

As he was redoing the deposit paperwork, and bitching about how the last customer just had to pay with cash, I looked at him and said, “you know you’re doing this to yourself, right?” He thought his luck could continue like it has for the last couple of weeks. I told him I used to do the same thing (counting the cash, and getting the deposit ready before we closed.) But it wasn’t worth the stress, and the extra time if someone came in. So I do it like the other coworker now, and closings, for me, have been so much better.

Back to work this afternoon. There’s three of us in tonight, because of trucks. BossLady has seen the schedules via the works group chat. She doesn’t like them, but the guy that’s making the schedules while she’s on time off, countered with, “it one, maybe two shifts a week, and it really helps when there’s multiple trucks in the evening”. One person can concentrate on the truck, while the other two run the store.

I’ve rambled on far too long with only a couple sips of coffee. Happy Tuesday. Let’s kick today in the ball sack.

And I get sick when I’m around

I was up a little early this morning. Podrick was podricking around and making a little bit of noise. I got up used the bathroom, and whispered to Pod, please he good buddy, it’s way too early to be up. Since he’s ginger, he has no soul, and doesn’t care about what time it is.

Spoiler alert: he wasn’t quiet.

As you can see by the graphic, I’m kind of a big deal in Tunisia.

I tried to ignore him. I adjusted my mask so I could hear what was being said. Only if I played perfectly still, I could hear it. I could really relax, my mind was conning up with what it thought was knocked down. Don’t difficult to try and relax whilst having a mini panic attack. I tried to really listen to the guy talking, until he signed off, and it was just his space music, even quieter in the background.

Breathing in warm air, I was camping with the blankets up over my head to try and go back to sleep, while the Beautiful One, got up, and sat out into the living room to try and keep Podrick calm and quiet. A huge huge uuuuuge thank you to the Beautiful One, my amazing wife, Crystal for letting me sleep in.

I woke up, my face covered in drool. It’s Monday, and I work this afternoon. Let’s fucking go!

And I’d like to be a star and shine on you

Morning. It’s Sunday, so that means it’s chore day. I’ll start in a couple of hours. It’s not a lot. So it shouldn’t take too long.

This afternoon, we’ll be heading to Shady Acres, where I’ll be hauling in about 20 bags of wood pellets. Then, I’ll be cleaning the stove again.

Pippin just crawled onto my lap for a snuggle. She’s staring at Podrick.

I need more coffee.

Two-steppin’ on the table, she don’t need a dance floor

I was up early this morning. It was dark out in the living room. I brewed coffee, and got dressed. I slept ok. But, I’m still tired. I had the opening shift this morning. I opened with Bing Bing, and we got through the first small rush. After a couple of hours, I brewed two more pots of coffee. It’s hunting season, and the hunters are needy in the mornings.

All in all it wasn’t a bad shift. Just busy enough to keep the time passing. I did some cleaning, and worked on December’s best befores. We do it every month. It’s time consuming, but we’re better than the grocery store in town. Not one person for as long as I can remember has bought something that was expired. That’s a good thing.

Now I’m home. I should probably have something to eat. But I’m tired. We’re having burgers tonight. I took them out last night, along with some bacon for tomorrow. So maybe I’ll just chug a pint of egg nog and call it an afternoon?

Maybe I’ll start laundry? I don’t really feel like moving though, so maybe not. It’s Saturday bitches, and I have the next, technically 2 days off.

Let’s get crunk!

Never knew how much that muddy water meant to me

I’m slowly getting used to sleeping with sound. I just have to get the volume correct. It sounds right when I’m standing, but as soon as I lay down, ITS DO FREAKING LOUD. Last night I just dealt with it. After restarting it 4 times and adjusting the volume each time, I didn’t really care anymore. Suddenly, I was asleep. Some time in the night I woke up, and was just listening to the sounds. My guy had given up, and probably gone to sleep. At that point it was still pretty loud, so I just turned off the headphones, and went to sleep.

I rawdogged the last few hours of sleep.

I have to be up early tomorrow, so I won’t be using the headphones tonight. I need to be asleep, pretty quickly.

Podrick, as far as I can tell, was a pretty good boy last night. I didn’t see anything really out of place when I got up. He has his own alarm clock, and he’s been pretty consistent when he comes in to wake me up.

But, we’re all up here. The kittens have had breakfast. Podrick is on the shelf, over looking what he thinks is his kingdom. Pippin is lounging on my lap, not even looking at Pod.

Coffee, and contemplation. The sun is slowly rising. Let’s get ready for the new day.
