Book Club – Orange is the New Black

Well good morning, book nerds! It’s been awhile, hasn’t it? Well I’m back. Today, we’re talking about a new (to me) book for the Lockup Library Book Club. It’s a good one, and I’m sure that most people have seen the show, but today I’ll be talking about the book.

Orange is the New Black by Piper Kerman. It’s basically her memoir of spending 15 months in federal lock up. It starts off mostly the same as the show, probably faster than the show.

I’m really enjoying the book. I’m enjoying the show, but it’s hard to understand how a 295 page book can last 7 seasons.

I’m only a couple chapters in, but it’s pretty good so far.

Until next time, books nerds!

I’ve done wrong and I wanna suffer for my sins

Good morning everyone. Happy Monday. I slept like a stone last night. When my alarm went off, all I wanted was to sleep a little more. But I got up, opened the blinds and the tv.

Error. My Chromecast said it couldn’t connect to the internet. Hmm. Let’s reboot the router. I reboot it and go brush my teeth. When I get back it’s all fixed.

So now, I have the news on, and coffee is brewing.

I hope y’all have a great start of the week. I’m going to try as well! Let’s kick Monday in the nuts!

Gummi Bears! Bouncing here and there and everywhere!

I almost got up at 6am. I awoke with a fright – my bedroom fan was making weird noises. Me being a master mechanic, shook it until the noise stopped, then I went back to sleep

Good times.

It’s now the normal time to be up, and a full pot of coffee is brewing. And you know what day it is – CHORE DAY! GET HYPE!

Oh yes. Other than Friday, this is my favourite day. I like doing laundry, etc. then it’s off to Shady Acres for dinner and to celebrate Father’s Day.

But for now – coffee and contemplation. Happy Sunday y’all

Does your mother tell you things long, long when I’m gone?

Well today marks the one year anniversary of me arriving in TinyTown. Has it really been a year here?

I’ve come a long way in a year, I think. I think I’ve changed a lot in a year. I hope I have. Every month Crystal and I hope that they open the border up. Each month so far, we’re disappointed. Maybe they’ll open it in July. Fingers crossed.

I moved into The Flat a couple of months ago. I’ve tried very hard to make it into a home for when Crystal and the boys make it up. I hope they like it. I hope they all still like me. That’s my fear – she doesn’t like me or here, and she leaves again.

A lot has changed in the year I’ve been up here. I hope it’s changed enough.

The grad 2021 “parade” just went by. It’s cute. This year 10 kids were in the graduating class.

Ok, I’ve only had a bowl of cereal today, I think it’s time to start dinner.

I hope I’ve changed enough.

I’ll tell you what I want, what I really, really want, so tell me what you want, what you really, really want

Good morning starshine, the earth says “hello”. I’m beginning to this my allergies have turned into a cold. Yep. For the first time in over a year, I think I have a cold

Today is going to be action packed. I work until 2, after that, I get the truck and then I’m off to SlightlyBiggerTown for grocery shopping. Hopefully getting back in time to take some pictures of the grad parade.

But right now I just want some coffee. I had an ok sleep, up once around 2am, I coughed so hard it woke me up. But I managed to fall back asleep a couple of minutes later, and slept until my alarm went off.

Ok, let’s get this day start! SATURDAY!
