She’s a root tootin’ pistol from the lonestar state

The world started with a crash. That crash: Podrick manhandling his food dish to knock it into its side, so the lid pops off and food falls out. Thankfully, it was almost empty, so I don’t think he got a lot out of it. It got refilled this morning. He also got a bell ball taken away, and thrown out, because he was playing with it while it was still dark out.

Good morning everyone! I hope all y’all had a great sleep. The Sunday shift wasn’t too bad yesterday. It is freakin weird to leave work at the end of the shift, and have it still bright out. I told my young co-worker that we’ll just get used to the day light being awesome, we’ll be very surprised the first time it gets dark at 3 in the afternoon.

Back to work this afternoon. Then I have two glorious days off to vacuum the place, and then return it, because I forgot to on Saturday when I cleaned the pellet stove out.

We’re still on snow watch here. It’s not calling for too much. If what’s on the screen is to be believed, we should be getting, over two days – 4-6 if the maximum of what’s expected actually falls. I’m thinking we’ll either get an inch, or nothing. But we’ll see.

Guess your daddy never told you when you were growin’ up if you’re gonna be dumb, you better be tough

Well, well, well. It’s Sunday morning, and I had a great sleep. Great. Slept almost all the way through the night. Only got up once. I woke up this morning at 6:40. Pippin was snuggled in between us.

I crawl out of bed.

It’s cold in The Flat.

You see, yesterday, I had some windows open. It was nice to air out the apartment all day. Jen I remembered: I shut the heat off, so it wouldn’t turn on while the majority of the windows was open. I forgot to turn it back on after I closed the last window.

So that’s what I have to do if I want a great sleep; turn off the heat. I’ll have to remember that for the future, like tonight. Of course it’s like totes spring now, and we won’t get any more snow, right? I’ll be shutting the heat off soon right?

Maybe I’ll shut it off again tonight. it’s nothing blue skies and warm temps coming. I can’t wait for summer!

Work today – open to close. The guy that rarely closes, closed last night with a retiree that works the morning shift 3 days a week. We’ll see what we’ll be cleaning up in the morning. I’ll go in a few early to make sure everything is golden when the professionals open.

But coffee first.

It’s the lords day y’all!

And if I smell like smoke, I’ma light it up

So yeah, here we are. I’ve been up since around 4. I couldn’t regulate my temperature. I was so very warm, so I move up a layer, then I was freezing. I couldn’t find a happy position that kept my temp where I wanted it. I made it to about 6:15, and said, fuck it. Time to start the day.

We started the day by getting dressed and running out into the street like we were going to protest something. But we were taking pictures of goddamn nature, people. It’s our towns own little solstice. The rises from the road, and looks pretty awesome.

Last night at work, my co-worker and I watched the Artemis II crew make it back to earth. It was very cool to watch. I didn’t get to watch the launch, so it was so awesome to see them literally fall out of the sky.

Day off today. And it’ll be partially busy. I have chores to do here. Then brunch. And I have to head over to Shady Acres and clean the stove. My parents are going to be heading into the USA for time away from cancer. I hope they have a great day.

I really need more coffee.

She’s on the highest dose of Prozac a woman can take

Holy shit, it’s Friday y’all!

I’ve been up for a while now. I was just mostly … awake. Podrick’s been running around like a crazy kitty. It sounded like he was getting into everything this morning. However, when I got up and dressed, the only thing out of place, was the cat bed from the shelf, was on the floor.

It’s a bright and sunny day out there. It’s supposed to be pretty nice outside today. I think slowly, but surely it’s going to be getting nicer and nicer. At least, I hope it will. I might not even wear my long underwear today. We’ll definitely have to keep an eye outside this morning. I might even set the table up for the cats once we let Pippin out of the bedroom.

As I’ve said in a post, I’ve been on a country music kick for a couple of weeks now. I’ve been listening to Pistol Annie’s, Ella Langley, Lainey Wilson, and a couple of other ladies. They’re pretty good, and I’m enjoying listening to them on the way too and from work. It’s neat hearing them sing with their accents. I actually recognize some of the talent that’s going to be at Country Thunder this year. Still not gonna go, it’s way too expensive, even for general admission.

But, I have really been enjoying listening to Ella Langley. She has a great voice, and her songs remind me a lot of the country songs from the 89s that actually tell a story. So yesterday she released her second (I think) album, and I was excited to listen to a song or two before work yesterday. According to YouTube Music (yesterday morning), it was going to drop in like 10 hours. I pulled out my fingers and counted. Ok, fine, I’ll listen to a song on the way home, I opened up YTM, and it said drops in a hour. Fine. I won’t listen to the album tonight. It’s on my playlist now, so I’ll listen to a song on the way to work today.

The back door is opened, and both kittens are looking out the window. Soon, I’ll be able to open some windows, and let some fresh air in. But there’s a thought in the back of my head; winter is coming.

But if I smell like smoke, it’s only ’cause I’ve been through hell

I was very surprised when I looked at my phone, forced my eyes to focus, and saw that the time was 6:58. The Beautiful One and Podrick let me sleep in an extra half hour. I mean I was up around 5? I think. I had to pee, then back to bed. then I was up briefly at 5:30 when the cat feeder went off.

I only heard Pod try to climb the screen once, maybe twice. Then quietness. That is when I went under again. I was just a little warm, and just not able to breathe through my nose too well. So I was a little tossy and turny. When I looked at the time I was very surprised. And decided right there, to get up and start the day.

The day has been started.

Coffee brewed.

Back to work this afternoon. I’m working with the same co-worker as yesterday, and the same one tomorrow. Yesterday me and the co-worker celebrated Rex Manning Day, by wearing Hawaiian shirts, and manifesting better weather, as the snow was flying yesterday. It’s gonna be a little warmer today. And it’ll be a lot nicer tomorrow – so there’s that.

I need more coffee. Happy Thursday, y’all.
